Good evening to you all. As we all know, education is very important. If our children pay attention and learn as much as they can, it can set them on the road to a good career and a happy life. But as well as learning subjects at school, it is also important for them to learn right ways to obey in life. All of us should have basic rules of behavior, including truthfulness, honesty, charity, love, and kindness. Education is not aimed at getting only a degree. Successful moral education can make a good student perfect. Perhaps most moral education can be learned at home, rather than in school or college, because our children spend most of their time at home. Moral education can often be learned best by actions rather than words. Sometimes we adults forget this golden rule and advise young people to act well, while not always doing so ourselves. Children are good observers, so it is the duty of you as parents to set a good example to the younger generation. A France is home to many lovely towns, each with its own unique charm. At a hospital in Milot, she met a 2-year-old boy trapped under broken stones for five days. He had lost his family and suffered serious injuries. Ten months later, while most survivors had returned home, the little kid remained. Nurses cared for him lovingly, placing a sign by his bed: “Do not pick me up” to urge him to walk by himself. Mary and her husband, Nathan, first hoped to arrange medical treatment for the boy in the U. S., but as they bonded with him, their feelings grew deeper. They decided to adopt (收养) him. In 2013, the child — now named Jamesly Jesse — joined their family in Moweaqua, Illinois, at age four. He learned English, made friends, and grew well in his supportive community. Known for his kindness and determination, he embraced (拥抱) his new life with joy and purpose quickly. Inspired by school activities, Jamesly joined the Boy Scouts and discovered a passion for service and outdoor leadership. In high school, he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout — the program’s highest honor. Yet he wanted more than personal achievement. Remembering the Haitian hospital that once saved him, Jamesly felt a strong calling to give back. In October 2023, he organized a large food-pack event at his school gym. Over 400 volunteers — including teachers, doctors, families, and children — came together to pack meals for Haiti. The effort became one of the town’s biggest youth-led humanitarian (人道主义) projects. The supplies provided important support to the struggling hospital. Now planning to study food systems and hunger relief in college, Jamesly remains humble. He focuses on helping others, not seeking praise. From an earthquake survivor to a community leader, his journey brings hope to many. “I have young people who look up to me,” he says. “And I know they’ll make an impact, too.” 24. What was the purpose of the sign by Jamesly’s bed? A. To make sure he could have enough rest. B. To prevent other people from touching him. C. To encourage him to try walking on his own. D. To protect him from being hurt in the hospital. 25. What can we infer about Jamesly from Paragraph 3? A. He had a strong wish to get more personal rewards. B. He cared more about helping others than his honour. C He was a very smart child who learned things quickly. D. He spent lots of time on the things he wanted to finish. 26. What can we learn from Jamesly’s words in the last paragraph? A. He feels proud of the achievements he has made so far. B. He is full of hope for the young people who follow him. C. He is confident that he will be able to help more people. D. He is thankful to those who have given him help before. 27. What’s the main idea of the text? A. Jamesly’s peaceful new life in America. B. Jamesly’s survival from the Haiti earthquake. C. Jamesly’s humanitarian work for the hospital. D. Jamesly’s journey from a survivor to a leader. C 25. B 26. B 27. 根据第一段中“Nurses cared for him lovingly, placing a sign by his bed: ‘Do not pick me up’ to urge him to walk by himself.(护士们细心地照顾他,在他的床边放了一个牌子:“不要抱我”,以鼓励他自己走路。)” 根据第三段中“Inspired by school activities, Jamesly joined the Boy Scouts and discovered a passion for service and outdoor leadership. In high school, he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout — the program’s highest honor. Yet he wanted more than personal achievement.(在学校各类活动的启发下,Jamesly加入了童子军,也由此发现自己对公益服务和户外领导力有着浓厚的热情。高中时,他荣获了童子军的最高荣誉 —— 鹰级童子军称号。但他想要的,远不止个人成就。)”可知,Jamesly更关心帮助他人,而不是自己的荣誉。故选B。 【26题详解】 推理判断题。根据最后一段中““I have young people who look up to me,” he says. “And I know they’ll make an impact, too.”(他说:“我有一些年轻人崇拜我,我也知道,他们终会也创造属于自己的价值。”)” 根据全文内容,结合最后一段中“From an earthquake survivor to a community leader, his journey brings hope to many.(从地震幸存者到社区领袖,他的旅程给许多人带来了希望。)” D。 C Everyone is using AI. My patients use it to ask for help with issues in between sessions with me. Teachers are using it to write their curriculum, and professors are using it to write their lectures. But how do you feel about it? And how do you feel about your kids using it? Is it acceptable for them to use AI to do their homework? How about on their exams? A recent Pew Research Center study found that 26% of teens are using AI to help with their schoolwork. Teens in eleventh and twelfth grade (31%) are more likely than seventh-and eighth-graders to use ChatGPT to complete their work. Fifty-four percent of the teens surveyed said it was acceptable to use ChatGPT for research, and 29% said it was okay to use it for math problems. However, not all teens know about ChatGPT. For those who do, as many as 79% said it was acceptable to use it for research. An even larger number of college students are using AI to help with writing, research, completing assignments and exams. 86% of college students reported using AI, with many of them using it daily. Is using AI on assignments and exams cheating? Will it interfere with learning math or grammar skills? Or how about interpersonal skills? This is what I worry about: If teens use AI to write a paper or to help with a dispute (争论) with a friend, isn’t this a way of getting AI to do their thinking for them? I worry that doing this will curtail their ability to develop logical and convincing arguments when writing or speaking to a friend. I worry that they will not have to do the hard work of thinking for themselves. These are all important skills. What will happen to our kids’ ability to use critical thinking, write well or relate well if these tasks are farmed out to AI early on? 28. How does the author express his concerns? A. By raising a series of questions. B. By quoting professional views. C. By listing scientific evidence. D. By telling his personal story. 29. What does the Pew Research Center study show about teen use of AI? A. Teens seldom use AI to take online exams. B. Older teens are more likely to use AI tools. C. Most teens rely on AI to solve math problems. D. Teens turn to AI only to complete difficult tasks. 30. What does the underlined word “curtail” in the last paragraph probably mean? A. Weaken. B. Protect. C. Explore. D. Improve. 31. Why is the author worried about teens using AI? A. It may keep them away from their friends. B. It may contribute to their English writing skills. C. It may make them lose interest in researching. D. It may stop them from thinking on their own. A 29. B 30. A 31. 根据第一段中的“But how do you feel about it? And how do you feel about your kids using it? Is it acceptable for them to use AI to do their homework? How about on their exams?(但是你对此有何看法?你对自己的孩子使用人工智能又有何看法?他们用人工智能做作业是否可以接受?用在考试中呢?)”以及第四段中的“Is using AI on assignments and exams cheating? Will it interfere with learning math or grammar skills? Or how about interpersonal skills?(在作业和考试中使用人工智能算是作弊吗?这会影响数学或语法技能的学习吗?人际交往能力又会受到怎样的影响呢?)”可知,作者通过提出一系列问题的方式表达自己的担忧。故选A项。 根据第二段中的“Teens in eleventh and twelfth grade (31%) are more likely than seventh- and eighth-graders to use ChatGPT to complete their work.(十一年级和十二年级的青少年(31%)比七、八年级的青少年更有可能使用ChatGPT来完成作业。)” 根据最后一段中的“I worry that doing this will curtail their ability to develop logical and convincing arguments when writing or speaking to a friend. I worry that they will not have to do the hard work of thinking for themselves.(我担心这样做会curtail他们在写作或与朋友交谈时构建有逻辑、有说服力的论点的能力。我担心他们将不必再费力地独立思考。)”可知,作者认为用AI代劳会影响青少年相关能力的培养,由此推知,curtail的含义为“削弱”,与weaken意义相近。故选A项。 根据最后一段中的“I worry that doing this will curtail their ability to develop logical and convincing arguments when writing or speaking to a friend. I worry that they will not have to do the hard work of thinking for themselves.(我担心这样做会削弱他们在写作或与朋友交谈时构建有逻辑、有说服力的论点的能力。我担心他们将不必再费力地独立思考。)”可知,作者担忧青少年使用AI会让他们不再进行独立思考,进而丧失培养各项重要能力的机会。故选D项。 D China is the world’s largest emitter of carbon dioxide (CO2) and has set a goal of 2030 to see its emissions (排放) start to reduce. After the first three quarters of 2025, it is not clear whether the full year will see a slight increase or a slight decrease, according to an analysis by Lauri Myllyvirta at the Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air in Finland. China’s total emissions have been flat or falling slightly since March 2024. The rapid growth of solar and wind power generation is the main force bringing emissions down, but fossil fuel (化石燃料) demand has risen in other industries, says Myllyvirta. “Emissions from the power, cement and steel industries are down, but the chemical industry has seen another major increase in coal and oil use,” he says. The speed of solar growth in China has been surprising, says Myllyvirta. “In the first half of 2025, solar power capacity (太阳能发电量) additions were equal to 100 solar panels installed (安装) per second,” he says. “Solar power capacity added was 240 GW in the first nine months of the year, up 50 per cent year on year. That capacity addition in just nine months is more than the US total installed capacity.” If China’s emissions do start to fall, we can expect the global trend to head in the same direction, says Li Shuo at the Asia Society Policy Institute in Washington DC.“ However, I would warn against declaring a peak too soon, as we need data from the next few years to confirm the trend,” he says. David Fishman at the Lantau Group, a company based in Hong Kong, says it appears emissions will be down for the year, but he also warns against early optimism.“ Anything could happen in the last few months of 2025,” he says. Even if China has reached the peak ahead of its 2030 goal, it is unlikely that emissions will decline rapidly in the next five years, says Fishman, because Chinese consumers haven’t yet reached the per capita (人均) energy use of high-income nations. “I think we’re likely to see flat Chinese emissions until 2030 still, and no real decline until post-2030.” 32. According to Lauri Myllyvirta, the main reason for the decrease of China’s emissions is ________. A. the slowdown of economic development in China B. the fast growth of solar and wind power generation C. the decrease of coal and oil use in the chemical industry D. the decrease in demand for fossil fuels in all industries 33. What can we infer from the data in Paragraph 5? A. The total solar power capacity of China was 240 GW in 2025. B. China installed 100 solar panels per second in the first nine months of 2025. C. China’s solar power development speed is much faster than that of the US. D. The solar power capacity added in 2025 was 30% more than that in 2024. 34. What is David Fishman’s attitude towards China’s carbon dioxide emissions in the next few years? A. Slightly confused. B. Extremely positive. C. Completely negative. D. Reasonably cautious. 35. What is the purpose of the text? A. To praise China’s development in solar power. B. To introduce China’s plan to reduce CO2 emissions. C. To discuss the current situation of China’s CO2 emissions. D. To warn the world of the danger of China’s CO2 emissions. B 33. C 34. D 35. 根据第三段的句子“China’s total emissions have been flat or falling slightly since March 2024. The rapid growth of solar and wind power generation is the main force bringing emissions down, but fossil fuel (化石燃料) demand has risen in other industries, says Myllyvirta.(自2024年3月以来,中国的总排放量一直持平或略有下降。Myllyvirta表示,太阳能和风能发电的快速增长是推动排放量下降的主要力量,但其他行业对化石燃料的需求有所上升)”可知,Lauri Myllyvirta认为中国碳排放下降的主要原因是可再生能源的快速发展。故选B项。 【33题详解】 推理判断题。根据第五段的句子“The speed of solar growth in China has been surprising, says Myllyvirta. “In the first half of 2025, solar power capacity (太阳能发电量) additions were equal to 100 solar panels installed (安装) per second,” he says. “Solar power capacity added was 240 GW in the first nine months of the year, up 50 per cent year on year. That capacity addition in just nine months is more than the US total installed capacity.”(Myllyvirta表示,中国太阳能的增长速度令人惊讶。他说:“2025年上半年,太阳能发电装机容量的新增速度相当于每秒安装100块太阳能电池板。今年前9个月新增的太阳能发电装机容量为240吉瓦,同比增长50%。仅9个月新增的装机容量就超过了美国的总装机容量。”)”可知,中国太阳能发电的发展速度远超美国。故选C项。 【34题详解】 推理判断题。根据最后一段“David Fishman at the Lantau Group, a company based in Hong Kong, says it appears emissions will be down for the year, but he also warns against early optimism.“ Anything could happen in the last few months of 2025,” he says. My Mom is always really busy with her work, and she doesn’t get to spend any time with me anymore. I have to go to a childcare center every day after school while I wait for Mom’s work to be done and I can have dinner with her, and she has to work on Sundays. One day, at dinner time, I asked Mom if we could go to the fair (集市) together. “Can we pleeeeaaase go to the fair this Sunday?” I begged. “Lilly, you know I have to work that day.” Mom told me. “Yes, I know… But we never get to spend time together anymore! Can’t you take Sunday off?” I asked. Mom placed a plate in front of me and kissed my head. I smiled and licked my lips as she had given me a piece of cherry pie. Then I looked into my Mom’s brown eyes and asked one last time, “Can’t you take Sunday off?” Mom raised one eyebrow and said, “We’ll see.” “Okay.” I said with a grin, “We’ll see.” It was Sunday morning, and I ran to see if Mom was awake. She was making pancakes and coffee in the kitchen with her work clothes on. “Mom, why are you in your work clothes?” I asked. Mom bent down next to me and put her hand on my shoulder, “Sorry, Lilly! I have to go to work today.” Tears streamed down my face as I yelled, “You never have time for me anymore!” And I ran into my room and slammed the door. As I was crying on my bed, I could hear Mom talk on the phone, “Hi, Charlie. I have work today and Lilly is in a bad mood. I was wondering if you could come over and watch her for a few hours? Great! Thanks so much! See you soon.” A few hours later, Charlie came over and Mom left. I heard him knock on my bedroom door and say, “Lilly, your Mom made pancakes. Do you want to come out and have some?” “No!” I screamed. “Aw, come on... Your Mom told me why you’re upset.” Charlie muffled. “She did?” “Yeah. And she left a note for you.” “She did?” I jumped off my bed and opened the door. It said that Mom was really sorry that she couldn’t take me to the fair and that she had a plan for us tonight. I smiled at Charlie and told him what the note said. Then I poured some maple syrup on my pancakes and gobbled them all up. I waited for hours and hours for Mom to come home that day and finally I saw her park in the driveway. I ran outside and gave her a big hug. She swung me around and kissed me. “What’s the plan?” I asked her. Mom grinned, “You’ll see.” Once we said goodbye to Charlie, Mom put me down on the couch and smiled at me. “What’s the plan?” I asked Mom again eagerly. Mom gave me a tight hug, “Lilly, I go to work so often not because I like it, but because I make money that can pay for food and clothes. But now I’ve decided to take a rest and tomorrow… Guess what?” I looked up at her, “What?” “Tomorrow I’m taking you to the fair.” “Really?” I smiled. Mom nodded as she held me close. Then she tapped me on the nose and said, “I love you, Lilly.” I laughed, “Love you too, Mom. And you are the best Mom ever” While being busy with work, Mom actually cared about me very much. Only then did I realize that the mutual understanding and support between us could make a big difference. 词汇激活 行为类: ①询问:ask/inquire ②挣钱:make money/earn money ③决定做:decide to do/make up one’s mind to do 情绪类: ①抱歉:really sorry/apologetic/regretful ②爱:love/adore/cherish 【点睛】【高分句型1】I smiled at Charlie and told him what the note said. From the sunny south to the fairy-tale east, these four towns welcome visitors with artistic treasures, rich history, beautiful views, and lively markets, offering a taste of the country’s culture and beauty. Arles, Provence Arles is a small town known for its connection to Vincent van Gogh. He lived and painted here for over a year, creating hundreds of artworks. The town’s Roman ruins and narrow streets inspired many of his masterpieces (杰作). Today, visitors, especially art lovers, can explore art festivals, local galleries, and colorful markets, following in van Gogh’s footsteps and finding inspiration. Gordes, Provence Gordes sits high on a rocky hill in the Luberon mountains, overlooking a wide green valley. On Tuesday mornings, the small market is filled with soap, cheese, and baskets. The breathtaking sunset over the Luberon valley confirms Gordes as one of the most beautiful spots in Provence. Sarlat-la-Canéda, Dordogne Sarlat is one of the best-preserved medieval (中世纪的) market towns in France. Its narrow stone streets, golden buildings and lively Saturday market make it a delight to explore. The town’s history goes back to the Middle Ages, and every corner feels like a step back in time. Colmar, Alsace Colmar is often called the “jewel of Alsace”. With its colourful houses and flower-lined rivers, it feels like a fairy-tale town. Markets are held year-round, but the most famous is the Christmas Market. During the festive season, the streets are brightly lit, and the air is filled with the scent of bread and wine, creating a truly wonderful atmosphere. 21. What makes Arles a better destination for art lovers? A. A well-known painter. B. A colorful Saturday market. C. Ancient Roman architecture. D. Breathtaking natural views. 22. What can visitors experience in Colmar? A. Explore art festivals related to van Gogh. B. Enjoy the beautiful sunset on the hill. C. Visit the most famous Christmas Market. D. Feel the medieval atmosphere through the streets. 23. This passage is most probably taken from ________. A. an art newspaper B. a travel guidebook C. a history textbook D. a science fiction novel B In 2010, physical therapist (治疗师) Mary Jesse volunteered in Haiti after a deadly earthquake. C. He was a very smart child who learned things quickly. D. He spent lots of time on the things he wanted to finish. 26. What can we learn from Jamesly’s words in the last paragraph? A. He feels proud of the achievements he has made so far. B. He is full of hope for the young people who follow him. C. He is confident that he will be able to help more people. D He is thankful to those who have given him help before. 27. What’s the main idea of the text? A. Jamesly’s peaceful new life in America. B. Jamesly’s survival from the Haiti earthquake. C. Jamesly’s humanitarian work for the hospital. D. Jamesly’s journey from a survivor to a leader. C Everyone is using AI. D China is the world’s largest emitter of carbon dioxide (CO2) and has set a goal of 2030 to see its emissions (排放) start to reduce. 第二节(共5小题,每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项,选项中有两项为多余选项。 Sometimes, it feels like the more you study English, the less you remember. Charlie led me to the kitchen table where Mom left me a plate of pancakes and a note. 注意: 1.续写词数应为150左右; 2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 I grabbed the note and read it. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ “What’s the plan?” I asked Mom again eagerly. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
