Some scientists say robots should have faces that look human. A lot of our brainpower goes into recognizing faces. Giving a robot a face can help people communicate with it. Dave Hanson likes robots to look as real as humans. His robots have faces made with special skin. Tiny motors (马达) move the skin to make smiles and other facial expressions. Their eyes have cameras which send pictures of people’s faces to the central computers. In this way, they interact (互动) with similar feelings. Hanson thinks that people might be shocked by a robot with a lifelike face at first. But he thinks that they can get used to it.
Other scientists hold a different view. Maja Mataric is a scientist who studies computers, including their design and how they deal with information. When designing a new robot, Mataric decided it should have a face that didn’t look too human. She thought that might scare people. Her research showed that people enjoyed communicating with a machine face. Mataric’s robot is named Bandit with a simple face. Her team started with a bright childlike head with big eyes. His eyes can move up and down and in and out. The red lips (嘴唇) can make different shapes. Mataric thinks that as helpful robots play a bigger role in our lives, we’ll become more used to different robot faces.
So as for the future robots, I suppose they might have faces like this...

Have you ever noticed that when someone believes in you, you intend (想要) to do better? This is called the Pygmalion Effect. It means that if people expect you to succeed, you are more likely to succeed. On the other hand, if people expect you to fail, you might not do as well.
In a famous study, teachers were told that some of their students were “gifted” and would do very well in school. In fact, these students were chosen by chance, and there was no proof (证据) that they were smarter than others. However, by the end of the year, these students did perform better than their classmates. Why? Because the teachers believed in them and gave them more attention and encouragement. The Pygmalion Effect shows that our beliefs can change how we act. If you believe you can do something, you are more likely to try harder and succeed. But if you think you will fail, you might not even try.
How can you use the Pygmalion Effect in your life? Think positively (积极地) and aim high: Tell yourself that you can do it, even if it’s hard. Spend time with people who encourage you and believe in your abilities. If you aim high, you are more likely to achieve your goals. Remember, what you believe about yourself and what others believe about you can play a big part.
70. What is the Pygmalion Effect according to Paragraph 1?
A. It means people should not listen to teachers.
B. It means people should not believe in themselves.
C. It means people will fail if others believe in them.
D. It means people will succeed if others believe in them.
71. How can you use the Pygmalion Effect in your life?
A. By only listening to positive people.
B. By avoiding challenges and staying safe.
C. By believing in yourself and setting high goals.
D By not trying new things without enough preparation.
72. What is the best title for the text?
A. The Importance of Aiming High B. Beliefs Change Our Performance
C. Positive Friends Encourage More D. How to Become a Gifted Person

Maja Mataric is a scientist who studies computers including their design and how they deal with information.

C. By believing in yourself and setting high goals.
D. By not trying new things without enough preparation.
72. What is the best title for the text?
