A large number of people start experiencing strong loneliness in the few month following their graduation. Many people mistakenly think that loneliness can be ended by having more friends or by meeting new people. 1 So what causes loneliness and why do so many people experience it right after graduation?
2 Some of the main characteristics of a close relationship are common interests, openness and common life challenges. During college or high school years, most of the people in a group will have the same problem, so they can talk about their common problems, think together of solutions and even help each other go through them. 3
However, after graduation each person usually takes a different path and finds himself fighting his own unique battle. Problems become no longer common between the same group of people because each of them develops his own special ones. Friends can become less connected to each other when each one of them lives a different life. 4 In such a case two things can be done. You can either share your new problems with your old friends and make sure you listen to theirs or you can make more friends at your new job to share with them what’s going on in your new stage of life. 5 When you do so, stick to them, share your problems with them and you will never feel lonely.
A.What happens to the same group after graduation?
B.Loneliness can never appear in such an environment.
C.This gradually reduces closeness and promotes loneliness.
D.In fact, a person with quiet a few friends can still feel lonely.
E.Loneliness happens when you don’t have close relationships.
F.The key is to find people who are fighting the same battle as you.

The Man Who Created Dracula
Bram Stoker was born in 1847 in Dublin, Ireland. As a child, he was often ill and spent a lot of time in bed. When he was older, he often said that this time on his own had encouraged him to imagine and make up scary(引起惊慌的) stories.
At school Bram was a good student. He went to university in Dublin to study Maths. At university he was involved in acting and he also started writing horror stories. After university he started working for the government, but his dream was to be a writer and to work in the theatre.
Through his interest in acting, Bram met a famous actor called Henry Irving introduced him to important people including other writers. Irving owned the Lyceum Theatre in London and in 1878 he gave Bram a job as manager of the theatre.
Bram became interested in European folk(民间故事) stories, including stories about vampires(吸血鬼). This led him to write his own story about a vampire who scares the people in Whitby, a British seaside town. The story is told in an original(新颖的) way. It includes diaries, letters, and newspaper articles to make it even more interesting.
When Bram wrote the story, he could not decide on a name for it. He called it The Undead but later changed the name to Dracula. He had discovered that the word “Dracula” meant devil(魔鬼) in Romanian and so Dracula was born.
When the book first came out, it was not very successful but it did get some praise at the time. It was only after Bram Stoker’s death that people began to really take an interest in the book. Since then the story has become very famous and has been used in many films, plays, and musicals.
