阅读理解 A (2024·聊城高二期中)For most of us teaching seventh-graders English would be similar to teaching flying monkeys to sit. Just thinking about it, we might feel frustrated. But it was not for Miss Smith. For 40 years, she stood in the front of her classroom, lapping the blackboard where an inspirational quote was drawn neatly. “Open your notebook and write,” she would instruct. If a student was late, she would simply say, “Write about why you are late today.”The content and style didn't matter. It was the connection of thought to paper that was the aim. If you write long enough, these thoughts will turn into feelings and feelings on paper become visible, clear enough to examine. The anxiety of seventh-graders, the puberty (青春期) crisis and the mixture of emotions need a way out. Miss Smith knew that. She knew her teenage students needed to develop their own guidance systems, or they needed to deal with the forces that surrounded them. The quotes Miss Smith carefully wrote on the chalkboard were inspirational, and could encourage self-reflection. Most of the notebooks were filled with silly nonsense, like looking forward to pancakes for lunch, or worse, line after line stating that they didn't know what to write then. Regardless of those, Miss Smith read every entry (记录) and in neat red handwriting, wrote notes of encouragement and praise. She would read Shakespeare and ask how Romeo must have felt about being rejected (冷落) by his friends and family. The characters in the literature gave students permission to get emotional growth in a safe way, and the words inside those notebooks became more and more personal as time went on. Those who used to be problem students and need saving later became journalists and fiction writers. No one would disagree that she made every student feel they are not only what they are now but they are more. That point drove them to work hard and see what that “more” was going to be. 1.What can be learned about Miss Smith? A.She was easy to get frustrated with her job. B.She always got students to express feelings by writing. C.She was assigned to teach the worst class in the school. D.She had taught the English writing course for forty years. 根据第一段中的“‘Open your notebook and write,’ she would instruct... to paper that was the aim.” 2.What does the underlined word “that” in paragraph 2 probably refer to? A.The advantages of recording life on paper. B.The importance of puberty for a child's development. C.The difficulty of understanding and guarding children's rights. D.The characteristics of teenage children and the coping methods. 根据画线词上文中的“The anxiety of seventh-graders... need a way out.” 3.What's the feature of the sentences in most students' original notebooks? A.They're nearly meaningless. B.They're quotes from famous people. C.They're a great encouragement to students. D.They're inspirational and set people thinking. 根据第三段中的“Most of the notebooks were filled with silly nonsense...didn't know what to write then.” 4.What's the author mainly trying to show in paragraph 4? A.Miss Smith treats her students equally. B.Miss Smith has a wide knowledge of literature. C.Miss Smith's teaching methods turn out successful. D.Miss Smith teaches students according to their potential. 根据第四段中的“The characters in the literature...became journalists and fiction writers.” B (2024·晋城高二期中)Lots of people may wonder why so many children feel anxious and depressed, despite good family situations, a wealth of educational resources and the care of their parents and teachers. The other day when I met with my interviewees for their stories and discussed the problem with them, the same question occurred to me. I understand that hardworking parents want their children to perform well in all aspects, including their life and study and have a bright and promising future, but it seems that most of the time parents cannot give their children proper guidance based on actual situations. Many kids are their family's only child, so they lack interaction with their siblings. As a result, when they don't know how to get along with their classmates at school, they tend to become overwhelmed. The symptoms of childhood depression are rarely obvious, meaning parents often fail to notice them early, which results in low diagnosis rates. Usually, by the time the seriousness of the problem is realized, the child has entered a more serious state. Worse still, many parents have no idea on how to treat their child's mental problems. They seem more likely to believe that the child is undergoing a phase of adolescent rebellion (叛逆) rather than a mental health issue. After this interview, my understanding is that depression itself is not the thing that hurts those with such problem. Instead, the damaging thing is the perception of the problem. Society's limited understanding of the condition may actually hinder (阻碍) the patients' recovery. One interviewee said that letting people know that there is a mentally ill person in your family often results in ridicule (嘲笑) and misunderstanding rather than friendly empathy, especially in smaller communities. In spite of fierce competition in all walks of life, I still think that giving children a healthy and happy growth environment will play a more important role in producing a bright future than examination results. 5.What does the underlined word “siblings” in paragraph 2 refer to? A.Parents. B.Family members. C.Brothers and sisters. D.Friends. 6.What's the real reason for the patients' being unable to recover according to the author? A.Ridicule from their friends. B.The fierce competition at work. C.Their parents' high expectations. D.Misunderstanding from society. 根据倒数第二段中的“After this interview, my understanding...may actually hinder the patients' recovery.” 7.What does the author advise parents to do? A.They should bear more than one child. B.They should give children a free growth environment. C.They should identify children's psychological disorders early. D.They should avoid paying too much attention to examination results. 8.What's the best title of the passage? A.Children Should Live Up to Their Parents' Expectations B.Study Hard to Adapt to the Fierce Competition C.A Healthy Growth Environment Should Overweigh Schoolwork D.Spend More Time Accompanying Your Children C 通读全文,尤其根据第二段中的“I understand that hardworking parents...based on actual situations.” Ⅱ.七选五 (2024·哈尔滨三中高二期中) When I imagine my future, I see myself as an adult who is confident in my abilities, doing a job I love and living my life responsibly.
