Unit 4 A good read 单元导航 一、单元内容分析 本单元围绕 “阅读” 展开,属于“人与社会”主题范畴中的“文学、艺术与体育”主题群。学生通过学习《格列佛游记》节选片段和其他与书籍相关的对话、语篇,了解不同类型书籍的特点,学习描述个人阅读偏好,探究阅读的意义与价值。同时掌握“疑问词+不定式”结构以及情态动词must和have to的用法,提升综合语言运用能力,培养良好的阅读习惯,拓宽知识视野。 二、单元教学目标 Language Abilities 1.Master new words and phrases related to books,reading and literary works,and use them to describe books and express reading preferences. 2.Correctly use the structure “question words+to⁃infinitives” and modal verbs “must” and “have to” in daily communication and writing. 3.Improve reading ability by understanding the excerpt from Gulliver’s Travels and other reading materials,and develop the skill of extracting key information. Culture Awareness 1.Learn about classic literary works and enhance literary quality. 2.Broaden cultural horizons by learning about different types of books and their cultural backgrounds. Quality of Thinking   Develop critical thinking skills by analyzing and evaluating different types of books and literary works. Step 2 Work on A 1.Play the audio introduction about fiction and non⁃fiction.Ask students to listen carefully and complete the table. 2.After listening,check the answers together.Explain the differences between fiction and non⁃fiction. 3.Show pictures of different books.Ask students to write “Fiction” or “Non⁃fiction” under each picture.Check the answers together. Step 3 Work on B 1.Let students read the conversation between Millie and Daniel carefully.Explain new words and phrases. 2.Divide students into pairs.Ask them to talk about their favourite book types,using the conversation as a model. 3.Invite some pairs to present their conversations.
