Step 2 Work on 2a 1.Play the recording for the first time.Students listen only to get a general idea of the conversation content. 2.Play the recording again and ask students to fill in the blanks. 3.Check the answers and explain the meaning and usage of the new words and phrases in detail. Step 3 Work on 2b 1.Ask students to read the conversation carefully again and tick the correct boxes to show how often each student does ping⁃pong and badminton. 2.Check the answers and ask students to read out the relevant sentences to strengthen their understanding. Step 4 Work on 2c 1.Let students retell the conversation based on the information in the table in 2b. 2.Ask some students to come to the front of the class to retell and encourage other students to listen carefully and give comments. Step 5 Work on Pronunciation 2 and 2d 1.Play the recording of sentences with different stress patterns and ask students to listen and clap when they hear the stressed words to enhance their sense of rhythm. 2.Listen again and repeat，focusing on adjusting their own pronunciation and intonation to match the model. 3.Listen to the conversation in 2a again and ask students to match the stress patterns below with the coloured sentences. 4.Role⁃play the conversation.
