Step 2 Work on 1a 1.Show pictures of different sports items and ask students to write the corresponding words under the pictures. 2.Check answers and let students read the words aloud to practise pronunciation. Step 3 Work on 1b 1.Play the recording for the first time.Students listen carefully and answer the questions. 2.Play the recording again for students to check their answers and clarify any misunderstandings. Step 4 Work on 1c 1.Play the recording once more.This time，students listen and complete the table with the correct information about each person’s sport and how often they do it. 2.Ask some students to share their answers and have a class discussion if there are differences. Step 5 Work on 1d 1.Divide students into pairs.Each pair finds one sports item that they both have or know and then makes a conversation about the sport or exercise they do with it，using the learnt sentences. 2.Invite several pairs to act out their conversations in front of the class and give praise and suggestions.
