Step 2 Work on 2a 1.Play the recording for the first time.Ask the students to listen to the conversation and circle the coloured words they hear. 2.Play the recording for a second time.Check the answers and let the students read the conversation. Step 3 Work on 2b 1.Read the conversation in 2a with the students and explain the new words and phrases. 2.Guide the students to summarize the information in 2a and take notes. 3.Check the answers. Step 4 Work on Pronunciation 2-3 1.Play the recording of the words with ⁃(e)s endings.Ask the students to listen and repeat，paying attention to the different pronunciations of ⁃(e)s in different words. 2.Explain the pronunciation rules of ⁃(e)s endings. 3.Give some more examples for students to practise. 4.Listen to the conversation in Pronunciation 3.Ask the students to notice how the unstressed words are pronounced. Step 5 Work on 2c 1.Listen to the conversation in 2a.Ask the students to pay attention to the unstressed words and their pronunciations. 2.Let the students role⁃play the conversation in pairs，trying to imitate the intonation and pronunciation of the speakers. 3.Invite some pairs to act out the conversation in front of the class and give them comments and suggestions for improvement. Step 6 Work on 2d 1.Let the students match the headers in 2b with the questions with the students. 2.Explain the meaning and usage of each question.
