My son is one of them. For immigrant (移民的) parents like my wife and me, the moment was deeply affecting. His classroom is filled with colorful posters, smart boards and cool learning tools. Watching him wave goodbye, I hoped he would feel welcome and enjoy the long journey of learning ahead. Yet I could not help but think of my own first day in Uganda. At the age of four, I was sent to live with my uncle’s family for better schooling. My first “school” was an empty room with a dirt floor, wooden window covers and a tin roof that made loud noises when it rained. Later, I moved to Katebe Primary, the best in the county, where every morning we swept the classroom before lessons began. It taught me to take care of the space around me and to be responsible even with very few resources (资源). Still, I dreamed of a classroom where the only thing I needed to bring was curiosity. That dream came true years later in Florida. At 19, I entered an American college, welcomed by a kind couple who adopted (收养) me as their son. I was amazed by the library, the technology and professors who cared about my curiosity. I studied hard, graduated top of my class and went on to further education. Education opened doors I once thought impossible. Now, watching our son take his first steps into a school filled with various learning resources, which were out of reach for most children in Uganda, we were moved beyond words. To us, it felt like a dream that we wished every child could share. I thought of my parents, my grandmother, and my adoptive family. I also thought of children worldwide who still have no access to this chance. I hope one day they can walk into a classroom full of love, curiosity and hope too. Because that first step can change everything. 4. How did the author feel about his son’s school environment? A. Amazed. B. Satisfied. C. Worried. D. Upset. 5. Which of the following best describes the author’s early schooling experiences? A. Fun and carefree. B. Boring and stressful. C. Interesting but demanding. D. Challenging but beneficial. 6. What does the author mainly stress about education in the text? A. Its role in changing one’s life. B. Its requirement of hard work. C. Its value in teaching responsibility. D. Its dependence on good resources. 7. What does the author wish for children worldwide? A. Stronger curiosity. B. More caring teachers. C. Positive social connections. D. Equal access to resources. B 5. D 6. A 7. 根据第一段中“Watching him wave goodbye, I hoped he would feel welcome and enjoy the long journey of learning ahead.(看着他挥手告别,我希望他能感到受欢迎,并享受未来的学习之旅。)” 根据第二段中“My first “school” was an empty room with a dirt floor, wooden window covers and a tin roof that made loud noises when it rained. Later, I moved to Katebe Primary, the best in the county, where every morning we swept the classroom before lessons began. It taught me to take care of the space around me and to be responsible even with very few resources (资源).(我的第一所“学校”是一个空房间,有泥土地面、木制窗盖和锡屋顶,下雨时发出很大的噪音。后来,我搬到了县里最好的Katebe小学,每天早上上课前我们都要打扫教室。它教会我照顾周围的空间,即使资源很少也要负责任。)”可知,作者早期的学校教育经历充满挑战,但同时也让他受益匪浅。故选D。 【6题详解】 推理判断题。根据第三段中“I studied hard, graduated top of my class and went on to further education. Education opened doors I once thought impossible.(我努力学习,以全班第一名的成绩毕业,并继续深造。教育打开了我曾经认为不可能的大门。)”可知,作者主要强调教育在改变人生方面的作用。故选A。 根据最后一段中“I hope one day they can walk into a classroom full of love, curiosity and hope too. Already, there are AI-based tutoring (辅导) tools that can help learners. One 2024 study, led by the University of Oxford, found that school students in Ghana who used an AI-powered maths tutor through WhatsApp for half an hour, twice a week, over eight months had “higher” maths progress scores than those in a control group. “Until now, professional, personalised tutoring has been too expensive for people,” points out Joseph South, chief innovation officer at the International Society for Technology in Education. “AI-powered tutors can offer this experience for online learners at a low price.” However, there are still possible problems to solve. AI can present untrue things as fact, which could mean students might “learn” incorrect information. Similarly, AI can develop biases (偏见) based on the data (数据) used to train it, and possibly pass them on to learners. In addition, experts warn that any educational institution (机构) needs to have strict rules on what student personal information can be put into AI tools, to reduce privacy risks. But, to some, the biggest risk is to the learning process. “As students increasingly depend on AI tools, they may use them as quick answers, which will hurt their ability to learn basic learning skills,” says Emily Deleu, assistant teaching professor of business management communication at Carnegie Mellon University. “Is that good for them in the long term?” she asks. “This is still an open question.” To protect students, she suggests “we need government rules to give advice to schools.” And she adds, “The biggest risk of all with AI is doing nothing. The world has changed and is changing. We should change how we teach and what we teach to welcome AI.” 8. What does the 2024 study show about AI-powered tutoring tools? A. They can help develop students’ interest in maths. B. They can increase competition among students. C. They can help students improve their grades. D. They can shorten students’ study time. 9. What does Joseph South think of AI-powered tutoring tools? A. They will reduce the need for teachers in online learning. B. They can make personalised tutoring affordable for most people. C. They will pass some biases on to learners. D. They may present fiction as fact. 10. What do experts want educational institutions to do? A. Bring in more professional teachers. B. Develop more AI-powered tutoring tools. C. Help students develop their own opinions. D. Try to protect students’ private information. 11. Which of the following can be the best title for the text? A. Will AI Change Education for the Better? B. Can AI Help Students Learn Important Skills? C. Are AI Tools Expensive for Learners? D. What Can AI Tools Help Teachers Do? 【答案】8. C 9. B 10. D 11. A 【解析】 【导语】本文是一篇议论文。文章指出人工智能辅导工具能提高学生成绩并降低个性化辅导成本,但也需解决虚假信息、偏见、隐私及学习能力退化等问题,未来需政策引导以适应人工智能时代。 【8题详解】 细节理解题。根据第二段中“One 2024 study, led by the University of Oxford, found that school students in Ghana who used an AI-powered maths tutor through WhatsApp for half an hour, twice a week, over eight months had “higher” maths progress scores than those in a control group. (牛津大学在2024年领导的一项研究发现,在八个月的时间里,通过WhatsApp使用人工智能数学导师的加纳学生,每周两次,每次半小时,其数学进步分数比对照组的学生“更高”。)”可知,2024年的研究显示了人工智能辅导工具可以帮助学生提高成绩。故选C项。 【9题详解】 细节理解题。根据第三段中Joseph South所说的话“Until now, professional, personalised tutoring has been too expensive for people (到目前为止,专业的、个性化的辅导对人们来说过于昂贵)”和“AI-powered tutors can offer this experience for online learners at a low price. (人工智能导师可以以较低的价格为在线学习者提供这种体验。)”可知,Joseph South认为人工智能辅导工具可以让大多数人负担得起个性化辅导。故选B项。 【10题详解】 细节理解题。根据第四段中“In addition, experts warn that any educational institution (机构) needs to have strict rules on what student personal information can be put into AI tools, to reduce privacy risks. (此外,专家警告说,任何教育机构都需要严格规定哪些学生的个人信息可以输入人工智能工具,以降低隐私风险。)”可知,专家希望教育机构尽力保护学生的个人信息。故选D项。 【11题详解】 主旨大意题。通读全文,尤其是第一段“As new technologies, including AI, are becoming popular, they promise to change learning for the better. (随着包括人工智能在内的新技术越来越流行,它们有望使学习变得更好。)”可知,文章探讨了人工智能在教育中的潜力,如提升成绩、降低辅导成本,但也指出虚假信息、偏见、隐私风险及学习能力退化的问题。因此,A项“人工智能会让教育变得更好吗?”涵盖双向的讨论,最适合作为文章标题。故选A项。 D A few years ago, rising energy prices and extreme weather caused a global food crisis (危机). A deadly drought in Russia reduced the global wheat supply. Similarly, last year’s drought in the United States, the world’s largest grain exporter, raised concerns about future food safety. Since the 1960s, agricultural science has helped drive crop (庄稼) production, reducing hunger worldwide. However, with the world’s population going beyond 7 billion in 2011 and expected to grow by another 2 billion by 2040, the demand for food continues to rise. In addition, more land is needed for biofuels production and farm animals’ feed. Meeting such demands faces many constraints. Every year, city development takes away half a million hectares of farmland. The competition for water between industries and farming reduces the amount available for irrigation (灌溉). Furthermore, the cost of fossil fuels, which are necessary for farming and transporting food, continues to climb. The biggest challenge, however, is climate change, which is expected to worsen droughts, heatwaves, and the spread of harmful insects, all of which endanger crop production. One possible solution is to use the increasing levels of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere to help crops grow better. Since 1957, CO2 levels have risen by 25%, but little effort has been made to develop crop varieties that use this extra CO2 to produce higher yields. Research shows that crops could benefit from this. While this idea alone won’t solve the food crisis, it could be an important part of the solution. Other strategies could include growing crops that survive in hot conditions, using more efficient water delivery systems, and creating apps that help farmers manage resources effectively. Without question, the growing demand for crop production will provide huge challenges as anything faced throughout human history. Clearly, new scientific tools and their wise use will help ensure continued agricultural productivity in the face of global uncertainty. 12. What does the author point out at the beginning of the text? A. Global food safety was at risk. B. Unusual weather was an unavoidable event. C. Food prices have seen a noticeable fall. D. Rising energy prices were affected by crops. 13. What does the underlined word “constraints” in paragraph 3 mean? A. Chances. B. Limits. C. Responsibilities. D. Promises. 14. What can we know about rising CO2 levels according to the text? A. They weaken all wild plants. B. They worsen global food crisis. C. They might drive crop growth. D. They may affect farmland quality. 15. What is the author’s view about future crop production? A. It will be dependent on good weather. B. It will benefit from scientific advances. C. It will certainly face more uncertainty. D. It will be addressed by efforts worldwide. 【答案】12. A 13. B 14. C 15. B 【解析】 【导语】本文是一篇说明文。文章主要介绍全球粮食危机出现的背景、面临的多重制约因素,以及利用二氧化碳等应对粮食需求增长的可行办法。 【12题详解】 推理判断题。根据第一段中的“A few years ago, rising energy prices and extreme weather caused a global food crisis (危机). A deadly drought in Russia reduced the global wheat supply. Similarly, last year’s drought in the United States, the world’s largest grain exporter, raised concerns about future food safety. (几年前,不断上涨的能源价格和极端天气引发了一场全球粮食危机。俄罗斯一场严重的干旱减少了全球小麦供应。同样,作为全球最大的粮食出口国,美国去年遭遇的干旱也引发了人们对未来的食品安全的担忧)”可知,作者在文章开头指出全球粮食安全正面临威胁。故选A项。 【13题详解】 词句猜测题。根据第三段中的“Every year, city development takes away half a million hectares of farmland. 根据第四段中的“One possible solution is to use the increasing levels of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere to help crops grow better. Since 1957, CO2 levels have risen by 25%, but little effort has been made to develop crop varieties that use this extra CO2 to produce higher yields. Research shows that crops could benefit from this. (一个可行的解决方案是利用大气中不断升高的二氧化碳浓度来促进农作物更好地生长。自1957年以来,二氧化碳浓度已经上升了25%,但人们在培育能利用这些额外二氧化碳实现高产的作物品种方面所做的努力却很少。研究表明,农作物可以从中获益)”可知,不断升高的二氧化碳浓度或许能够促进农作物生长。故选C项。 【15题详解】 推理判断题。根据最后一段中的“Clearly, new scientific tools and their wise use will help ensure continued agricultural productivity in the face of global uncertainty. (显然,新的科学工具及其合理运用,将有助于在全球充满不确定性的背景下,保障农业生产力的持续发展)”可知,作者认为未来的农作物生产将得益于科学技术的进步。故选B项。 第二节 七选五(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) Have you ever felt like your mind is continuously racing from thought to thought, unable to concentrate on a single task? One of the memories was about Chinese New Year’s Eve. It’s a tradition that the Chinese make and eat dumplings on Chinese New Year’s Eve. On Chinese New Year’s Eve when I was 10 years old, my mother was preparing dumpling skins and filling in the kitchen while my sister assisted her. I followed my father out to our yard to watch him set off fireworks. Soon, I was enthralled (着迷) by the loud noises and bright light produced by the fireworks. Our whole house was filled with holiday cheer. When there were no fireworks, I went inside. Seeing my mother and sister being busy preparing dumplings, I was curious and wanted to try making them myself, thinking it would be fun. Although I had never made dumplings before, I didn’t think it would be difficult. Eagerly, I walked into the kitchen and came to my mother’s side. Her left hand was holding a piece of dumpling skin while her right hand was digging out the meat and vegetable filling onto the dumpling skin, through a spoon. Then, I discovered she folded the dumpling skin in half and pressed together the top of the dumpling skin’s edge together to seal (把……封上) the filling inside. She finished making a dumpling with a lovely shape in a matter of seconds. It looked truly easy. “Mom, I want to try making dumplings,” I said. “Alright! I’ll give you instructions as you do it,” my mother replied. “No, Mom. It’s simple! There’s no need to instruct me,” I said quickly. Smiling, my mom nodded, walked to one side and gave me room to work. Confidently, I began. Quickly, I placed one piece of dumpling skin on my left hand. After that, I spooned lots of filling and put it onto the centre of the dumpling skin. Then, I met the first disappointing challenge. 注意: 1.续写词数应为150左右; 2.请按如下格式作答。 I struggled to press the dumpling skin’s edge, unable to seal all the filling inside. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ My mom smiled, “Patiently follow me! You’ll do a better job!” ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】One possible version: I struggled to press the dumpling skin’s edge, unable to seal all the filling inside. The excess filling oozed out from every side as I pinched harder, making a messy, lopsided lump. Frustrated, I tried again with another skin, but this time I used too little filling, and the dumpling looked flat and sad. My sister giggled from across the table, and even my father peeked in, chuckling at my determined frown. I felt my cheeks burn — not from the kitchen heat, but from embarrassment. All those perfect crescent-shaped dumplings my mother made seemed to mock me from the tray. My mom smiled, “Patiently follow me! You’ll do a better job!” She gently guided my hands, showing me how to fold the edges just right — not too tight, not too loose — and how to pleat the skin like a tiny fan. Slowly, my movements became smoother. By the fifth try, I finally shaped one that held its form without leaking. A wave of pride washed over me. As we boiled the dumplings later that night, I realized it wasn’t just about the food — it was about connection, tradition, and the quiet love passed down through generations, one imperfect dumpling at a time. 词汇激活 行为类 ①溢出:ooze out/leak out ②指导:guide/instruct ③示范:showing/demonstrating 情绪类 ①挫败:frustrated/disappointed ②尴尬:embarrassment/awkwardness 【点睛】[高分句型1] The excess filling oozed out from every side as I pinched harder, making a messy, lopsided lump.(运用了as引导时间状语从句以及现在分词短语作状语) [高分句型2] By the fifth try, I finally shaped one that held its form without leaking.(运用了that引导的定语从句) 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 兰州大学附属中学 2025-2026学年度第一学期期末考试试卷 高一英语 第一部分 听力(共两节,每小题1.5分,满分30分) 第一节(共5小题,每小题1.5分,满分7.5分) 听下面5段对话。每段对话后有一个小题,从题中所给的A、B、C三个选项中选出最佳选项。听完每段对话后,你都有10秒钟的时间来回答有关小题和阅读下一小题。每段对话读两遍, 1.What does the woman want to do? C As new technologies, including AI, are becoming popular, they promise to change learning for the better. D A few years ago, rising energy prices and extreme weather caused a global food crisis (危机). 12. You’ll do a better job!” ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
