Her arm moves across the canvas, the marks gradually integrating into a portrait of herself. It seems like a moment of creative expression. But this is no ordinary artist — she is the world’s first humanoid robot artist, Ai-Da. By design, her very existence brings into question how we define art, and who, or in this case, what, can create it. Will AI algorithms (算法) and robots like Ai-Da mean the end of human creativity and artistry, or can they strengthen our own creative potential? When Marcel Duchamp proposed that a urinal (小便池) be considered art, he flipped the art world on its head. In much the same way, AI-created artworks are changing the standards of the art world, because both are controversial and contain objects that haven’t technically been created by an “artist’s” hand. Someone argues that a humanoid artist like Ai-Da represents society’s current fears — the rise of job-stealing AI algorithms and potential robot domination. But technological revolutions like artificial intelligence don’t necessarily mean the “end of art” as many fear. Instead, they can help to kick start an artistic transformation and move us towards different ways of seeing and creating. “AI might kick us into being creative again as humans,” says mathematician du Sautoy, who sees it as a powerful partner in the pursuit of human creativity. However, questions of authorship haunt the artificial intelligence story. Artists Holly Herndon and Mat Dryhurst co-founded Spawning AI, which aimed at empowering human creators to prohibit AI from using their works. But there are also artists who see AI as a new outlet for their own creativity. Some artists are now even training algorithms in an attempt to push their own creative boundaries. It’s clear that AI algorithms and machines like Ai-Da are having an impact on the art world. Their works are exhibited alongside more traditional forms of art worldwide. Next year we’ll see the world’s first AI art gallery open its doors in LA.Eva Jager, the creative AI lead, is also helping to bring AI art to the masses, with a programme of exhibitions leading to a critical discussion about the impact of technology on art. She sees the cooperation between human and machine as a space for real creative potential. 1.What does the underlined phrase in paragraph 2 probably mean? A.Overturned the art standards. B.Controlled the art world. C.Broadened artists’ horizons. D.Recognized artists’ wisdom. 2.What influence may Ai-Da generate on the art world? A.It may change the origin of art. B.It may replace human artists soon. C.It may boost human creativity. D.It may help artists protect their works. 3.What can be inferred from the last two paragraphs? A.Spawning AI helped produce better art works. B.AI art is being spread to engage a wider audience. C.Some artists trained AI to increase their productivity. D.The gallery is an immediate success in the art market. 4.What’s the author’s purpose in writing the text? A.To express concerns that AI artists may steal our jobs. B.To record the AI development and its significance in art. C.To explore the impact of AI on art definition and creativity. D.To argue that a balance is needed between AI and humans in art. B (25-26高二上·湖南衡阳·期末)Exercise is well-known as one of the best ways to lower blood pressure. Most public health groups suggest doing 150 minutes of moderate aerobic exercise (activities that increase breathing and heart rate, like jogging or cycling) each week to keep blood pressure under control. But many recent studies show this might not be the most effective method. One of the most reliable findings comes from a 2023 analysis of 270 controlled studies, with nearly 16,000 adults taking part. Each study looked at how different exercise plans (lasting at least two weeks) affected people’s blood pressure. The results showed that all kinds of exercise — from aerobic workouts to strength training — helped lower blood pressure a lot when compared with groups that did not exercise. A particular type of strength training, known as isometric exercise (where muscles are tightened and held still without moving the joints, like in a wall sit), showed a surprising advantage. On average, these exercises lowered systolic blood pressure by 8.24 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure by 4 mmHg. This effect is almost as strong as taking blood pressure medicine. A drop this big can cut the risk of serious heart-related problems, such as heart attacks or strokes; by up to 22% for at least a few years. Aerobic exercises only had about half of this effect. The reason for this difference has to do with how isometric exercises affect blood flow. In this type of exercise, you contract your muscles and hold that position for a short time. Tightening your muscles this way temporarily slows blood flow to them. When you relax the muscles afterward, your blood vessels (the network of tubes in the body that carry blood) open up wider, letting blood rush back in. This lowers blood pressure for several hours, and if you keep doing these exercises regularly, the blood pressure stays low. What makes isometric exercises even better is that they are easy to fit into your daily routine. A 2023 study found that just 12 minutes of these exercises, three times a week for 12 weeks, was enough to lower blood pressure significantly. Of course, I don’t mean we should stop doing other types of exercise. Aerobic and strength training are still important for heart health and building muscle. But if your blood pressure doesn’t seem to go down, it might be a good idea to add one or two isometric moves to your exercise plan. 1.According to the 2023 analysis, which exercise type leads to a blood pressure drop almost as strong as medication? A.150 minutes of weekly aerobic exercise. B.Traditional strength training like lifting weights. C.Exercise that involves tensing muscles and holding a fixed position. D.Any consistent exercise lasting two weeks. 2.How do isometric exercises help lower blood pressure according to paragraph 4? A.By increasing the heart rate significantly. B.By extending the muscle ability to keep working over time. C.By reducing body fat through higher energy usage. D.By enhancing the ability of blood vessels to widen. 3.What can be inferred about the time needed for effective isometric training? A.It requires lengthy daily workouts to be effective. B.Brief but regular practice can produce significant benefits. C.Timing the exercise for the morning gives the best result. D.The effect always gets better as each exercise period gets longer. 4.Which of the following can be the best title for the passage? A.Moving Past Aerobics: Rethinking the Standard for Blood Pressure B.Exercise Variety: Understanding Diverse Impacts on Health C.The Power of Isometric Exercise: An Efficient Way to Lower Blood Pressure D.Building Your Plan: Balancing Exercise Types for Heart Health C (25-26高二上·广东揭阳·期末)Greenhouse gas emissions would rise if all farms in England and Wales went organic. Though the emissions of each farm would go down, much more food would have to be imported, as the amount they would produce would decrease greatly. “The key message from my perspective is that you can’t really have your cake and eat it,” says Laurence Smith, now at the Royal Agricultural University in the UK, who was part of the team that ran the numbers. Smith is a supporter of organic farming and says “there are a lot of merits of the organic approach”, but his analysis shows that organic farming has downsides too. Farming and changes in land use, such as cutting down forests, are responsible for a third of all greenhouse gas emissions. That means reducing farming emissions and the land needed for farming is required to limit further global warming. Smith and his colleagues found that emissions per unit of food are, on average, 20 per cent lower for organic crops and 4 per cent lower for organic animal products. However, organic harvests per hectare (公顷) are also lower on average. For wheat and barley, for instance, harvests are just half of those of conventional farms. This means 1. 5times as much land would be needed to grow the same amount of these foods. The estimated increase in emissions varies greatly, depending on where the extra farmland comes from. If only half comes from turning grassland into farms, the increase could be as low as 20 per cent. If grassland that would otherwise have been reforested is turned into farmland, emissions could nearly double. This doesn’t necessarily mean people should stop eating organic produce, says Smith. People might choose organic food for other reasons, such as to reduce their pesticide exposure (though contrary to popular belief, organic farmers do use pesticides) or for the sake of wildlife. Going 100 per cent organic could also harm global biodiversity. The extra land used for farming would mean the land available for wildlife would be smaller and more fragmented Smith says the best option may be to use some organic and conventional farming methods at the same time. 1.Why may greenhouse gas emissions increase if a country goes organic? A.Organic farms take longer to build. B.The agricultural output will increase greatly. C.The emissions of each farm unit will increase. D.Greater demand for imported food will be created. 2.What does the underlined word “merits” in Paragraph 2 probably mean? A.Changes. B.Challenges. C.Advantages. D.Differences. 3.What did Smith and his colleagues find? A.Organic harvests per unit are greater than traditional harvests. B.Organic farming needs more farmland to feed a country. C.Global warming could be brought under control. D.Land was not used in a responsible way. 4.What is Smith’s proposal? A.Stopping using pesticides. B.Eating less organic produce. C.Going back to traditional farming. D.Adopting mixed farming methods. D (25-26高二上·广东广州·期末)China is building the world’s largest national park system. In 2021, it established its first national park. To date, China has opened five national parks to the public, covering a total of 57 million acres. These parks serve as vital habitats for rare animals such as the Giant Panda and Asian Elephant. 1 These parks are not just about ecological protection. 2 Besides, they are attracting tourists to experience the country’s rich natural diversity. Domestic tourists are increasingly drawn to China’s wilderness destinations, while foreigners have their own preference. 3 However, this trend will shift as China expands its national park system, predicting that the country will soon become a global hotspot for nature-based tourism. Han Mei, from one of the leading tour companies, points out that China’s late start in building national parks is actually an advantage. “While the United States pioneered the Yellowstone model, preserving vast wilderness areas, it also made significant missteps,” Han explains. One key shortcoming was fencing off land and forcibly removing the local original inhabitants to create a false impression of “untouched” wilderness. 4 By building a relationship between local communities and wildlife conservation, China can create a national park system that integrates cultural vitality with the care for nature,” she adds. That is undoubtedly a grand goal. 5 But it fits with China’s track record of completing remarkable projects, from the world’s largest dam to the Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge and the high-speed rail network. Now, China is devoting its vast resources and expertise to protecting and showcasing its extraordinary natural scenery. A.By 2035 it will have 49 parks covering 272 million acres. B.The US national park system has a history of over 150 years. C.Many countries have learned from China’s construction experience. D.Building this vast national park system in 14 years is a great project. E.They are also preserving cultural heritage and boosting local economies. F.In contrast, China has the opportunity to develop a more sustainable approach. G.Most international visitors still focus on China’s historic cities like Beijing and Shanghai. E (25-26高二上·贵州六盘水·期末)Having a hobby is good for you From playing tennis to hiking, having a hobby could help you live better and longer. 1 It’s also a powerful boost for both your brain and body. For example, reading improves vocabulary and imagination, and hobbies that require problem-solving improve your critical thinking and decision-making abilities. Hobbies also benefit your body in obvious ways. 3 Some are energetic, like rock climbing, which pushes your strength to new limits. Others are gentle, such as yoga, offering a calm yet effective way to engage your body. Even these mild exercises strengthen muscles, enhance cardiovascular (心血管的) health by improving blood circulation, and improve daily energy levels, supporting physical well-being. 4 Sharing interests like joining a book club, sports team, or craft group lets you connect with like-minded people. These interactions go beyond small talk, building trust. The emotional support from such genuine relationships is vital for long-term mental and emotional health. In short, a hobby is not a waste of time. It’s an investment in your health — developing your brain, strengthening your body, and enriching your social life. So pick up your paintbrush, lace up your hiking boots, or dust off your chess set. 5 A.Your brain and body will thank you. B.Hobbies greatly enrich your social life. C.Different people have different hobbies. D.It is more than just a way to pass the hours. E.Hobbies serve as mental exercise for the brain. F.Unlike work or study, hobbies are chosen freely. Seven years ago, I was dealing with some stuff in my personal life, and I needed an outlet for my frustration (沮丧). I heard exercise could improve my mood, so I made phone calls to some local gyms. The owner, Adria, of one gym, was very personal as I could tell she’d be good at motivating me. It turned out that we became good friends. I hoped being my friend meant she’d allow me not to attend a class if I just didn’t feel like it. On days when I said I couldn’t attend and gave one excuse after another, she pointed out the other time options that were available on the schedule. She wouldn’t let me out of the commitment I made no matter how many times I tried. Soon I was seeing changes in my body, emotions and attitude. I began to look forward to going to the gym. One day, Adria mentioned she was tired and needed a day off. I sympathized with her but was shocked when the next thing out of her mouth was, “I wish you could get certified because you’re the only one I’d trust with the keys.” I laughed it off, knowing that was impossible. Me? A trainer? For days following our conversation, every time the thought popped into my head, I heard the words — “No way” But for some reason, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. So I decided to do some research to understand what it would take to be a Group Fitness instructor. I learned it’d take 3-6 months of reading texts, analyzing charts and watching videos, as well as online activities. I finally signed up for the American Council on Exercise course. It was hard that I had to learn about certain muscles and workouts and memorize the decibel (分贝) level for the music used for each type of class. There were many times when I wanted to give up. But I chose to make a commitment to myself and follow through. The test day finally came, and it was no joke. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ I went to Adria to share the good news. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ B (25-26高三上·辽宁·月考)阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。 Last month, our community launched a volunteer program to build and manage a shared garden. Posters were displayed at the gate, calling for residents to join hands in planting flowers, growing vegetables, and maintaining the environment. The idea of turning an abandoned piece of land into a green garden immediately appealed to me. I phoned my two close friends, Mike and Lily, who lived in the same neighborhood, and invited them to participate. To my delight, both agreed, excited to contribute to something meaningful for our community. On the first Saturday morning, the three of us arrived at the empty land chosen for the garden. Several community workers were already there, preparing the soil and arranging tools. We were soon divided into groups, each responsible for different tasks. Mike, who had a gift for design, volunteered to plan the layout of the flower beds. Lily and I began planting seeds, watering, and labeling each plant carefully. The sun was very hot, and sweat ran down our faces, yet the laughter around us made every minute worthwhile. Some neighbors passing by offered bottles of water and even joined us, saying how wonderful it was to see young people caring for the neighborhood. By the end of the day, the once-bare ground was covered with rows of green shoots, silently promising a bright future. As weeks went by, the garden began to take shape. The air was filled with the smell of fresh earth and blooming (盛开的) flowers. Elderly neighbors stopped by to watch, children came to water the plants after school, and families enjoyed evening walks along the paths we had created. However, as summer approached, the enthusiasm started to grow weaker. Some volunteers got busy, and weeds began to grow quickly. Without regular care, several plants dried up in the heat. Seeing the yellow leaves and dry soil, I couldn’t help feeling disappointed and worried. 根据第二段中“When Marcel Duchamp proposed that a urinal (小便池) be considered art, he flipped the art world on its head. A.Moving Past Aerobics: Rethinking the Standard for Blood Pressure B.Exercise Variety: Understanding Diverse Impacts on Health C.The Power of Isometric Exercise: An Efficient Way to Lower Blood Pressure D.Building Your Plan: Balancing Exercise Types for Heart Health 【答案】1.C 2.D 3.B 4.C 【导语】本文是一篇说明文。 根据第三段中“A particular type of strength training, known as isometric exercise (where muscles are tightened and held still without moving the joints, like in a wall sit), showed a surprising advantage. On average, these exercises lowered systolic blood pressure by 8.24 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure by 4 mmHg. When you relax the muscles afterward, your blood vessels (the network of tubes in the body that carry blood) open up wider, letting blood rush back in. This lowers blood pressure for several hours, and if you keep doing these exercises regularly, the blood pressure stays low.(这样收紧肌肉会暂时减缓流向肌肉的血液。当你随后放松肌肉时,你的血管(体内输送血液的管网)会张得更开,让血液涌回。这会使血压降低几个小时,如果你经常做这些运动,血压就会保持较低水平。)”可知,等长收缩运动通过增强血管扩张能力来降低血压。故选D。 3.推理判断题。根据第五段“What makes isometric exercises even better is that they are easy to fit into your daily routine. A 2023 study found that just 12 minutes of these exercises, three times a week for 12 weeks, was enough to lower blood pressure significantly.(等长收缩运动更好的一点是,它们很容易融入你的日常生活。2023年的一项研究发现,每周进行三次、每次12分钟的这种运动,持续12周,就足以显著降低血压。)”可知,简短但定期的练习可以产生显著的好处。故选B。 4.主旨大意题。通读全文,尤其是根据第三段中“A particular type of strength training, known as isometric exercise (where muscles are tightened and held still without moving the joints, like in a wall sit), showed a surprising advantage. The extra land used for farming would mean the land available for wildlife would be smaller and more fragmented (碎片化的) . Smith says the best option may be to use some organic and conventional farming methods at the same time. 【答案】1.D 2.C 3.B 4.D 【导语】这是一篇说明文。文章主要讨论了如果英格兰和威尔士的所有农场都转为有机农业,温室气体排放可能会增加的问题。 1.细节理解题。根据第一段“Greenhouse gas emissions would rise if all farms in England and Wales went organic. Though the emissions of each farm would go down, much more food would have to be imported, as the amount they would produce would decrease greatly.(如果英格兰和威尔士的所有农场都采用有机农业,温室气体排放将会增加。尽管每个农场的排放量会下降,但由于它们的产量会大幅下降,因此必须进口更多的食物。)”可知,如果一个国家采用有机农业,温室气体排放可能会增加是因为将创造更大的进口食品需求。故选D。 2.词句猜测题。根据第二段“Smith is a supporter of organic farming and says “there are a lot of merits of the organic approach”, but his analysis shows that organic farming has downsides too.(史密斯是有机农业的支持者,他表示“有机种植模式有着诸多merits”,但他的分析也表明,有机农业同样存在弊端。)”可知,句中but为核心转折连接词,前后语义相反。后半句的downsides意为“弊端、缺点”,因此前半句的merits必然是其反义词,即“优势、优点”。故选C。 3.细节理解题。根据第四段“Smith and his colleagues found that emissions per unit of food are, on average, 20 per cent lower for organic crops and 4 per cent lower for organic animal products. However, organic harvests per hectare (公顷) are also lower on average. For wheat and barley, for instance, harvests are just half of those of conventional farms. This means 1. 5times as much land would be needed to grow the same amount of these foods.(史密斯和他的同事发现,有机作物每单位食物的排放量平均低20%,有机动物产品的排放量平均低4%。然而,平均每公顷有机作物的产量也较低。例如,小麦和大麦的产量仅为传统农场的一半。这意味着种植相同数量的这些食物需要1.5倍的土地。)”可知,史密斯和他的同事发现有机农业需要更多的农田来养活一个国家。故选B。 4.细节理解题。根据最后一段“Smith says the best option may be to use some organic and conventional farming methods at the same time.(史密斯说,最好的选择可能是同时使用一些有机和传统农业方法。)”可知,史密斯的建议是采用混合耕作方法。故选D。 D (25-26高二上·广东广州·期末)China is building the world’s largest national park system. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】 The test day finally came, and it was no joke. My hands were sweating as I walked into the examination room. The written part was hard——things about muscles and workouts, and even safety instructions I’d memorized late into the night. But the practical exam was worse: demonstrating exercises flawlessly while explaining their benefits to a panel of evaluators. My voice shook at first, but then I remembered Adria’s faith in me. Her words — “You’re the only one I’d trust...”, echoed in my ears. Somewhere, I learned that I passed the test. I went to Adria to share the good news. When I told Adria that I had passed the test, her face lit up with a huge smile. She hugged me tightly and said she knew I could make it. I couldn’t thank her enough at that moment. From then on, I started my new journey as a fitness instructor. Becoming a certified fitness instructor wasn’t just about a career change for me; it was about proving to myself that I could do anything I set my mind to, regardless of my age. 3.词汇激活 行为类 ①走进考场:walk into the examination room/enter the exam hall ②紧紧拥抱某人:hug sb. tightly/embrace sb. firmly ③开始新旅程:start a new journey/embark on a new voyage 情绪类 ①喜悦(脸上绽放笑容体现):face lit up with a huge smile/look delighted/be filled with joy ②信任:faith/trust/confidence 【点睛】【高分句型1】My hands were sweating as I walked into the examination room.(运用了as引导的时间状语从句) 【高分句型2】When I told Adria that I had passed the test, her face lit up with a huge smile.(运用了when引导的时间状语从句) B (25-26高三上·辽宁·月考)阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。 Last month, our community launched a volunteer program to build and manage a shared garden. Something had to be done if we wanted the garden to survive. One afternoon, our leader gathered us to discuss how to manage the garden better. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Months later, I walked through the garden again and was amazed by its beauty. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】范文 One afternoon, our leader gathered us to discuss how to manage the garden better. Everyone shared ideas seriously this time. Mike suggested building a small fence to prevent people from stepping on the plants, while Lily proposed making a duty schedule so that each volunteer would take turns watering and cleaning. I recommended inviting more residents to join, especially families with children, to keep the garden lively. The leader agreed and encouraged us to divide tasks and support one another. Over the next few weeks, we repaired broken tools, cleared the weeds, and built a watering system together. Slowly, the garden began to recover its energy and beauty. Months later, I walked through the garden again and was amazed by its beauty. Bright flowers were blooming beside rows of vegetables, and butterflies danced freely in the air. Children were laughing as they watered the plants, while elderly neighbors rested on benches, sharing stories under the trees. Mike was painting a signboard that read “Our Shared Garden,” and Lily was teaching a little girl how to plant seeds. Standing there, I felt proud and moved. The garden had survived because we never gave up — it had become not only a green space but also the beating heart of our community. 3.词汇激活 行为类: ①放弃:give up/ quit ②提议:propose/ recommend/ suggest 情绪类: ①自豪:felt proud / was filled with pride/ beamed with pride ②感动:felt moved/ felt deeply touched/ a sense of heartfelt emotion swept over    【点睛】【高分句型1】Mike suggested building a small fence to prevent people from stepping on the plants, while Lily proposed making a duty schedule so that each volunteer would take turns watering and cleaning.(运用了so that引导的目的状语从句) 【高分句型2】The garden had survived because we never gave up—it had become not only a green space but also the beating heart of our community.(运用了because引导的原因状语从句) 1 / 5 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
