Recently, astronauts from the Shenzhou-21 and Shenzhou-20 missions (任务) used this device successfully for the first time in space. This is an important step to improve Chinese astronauts’ dining experience in orbit (轨道). Now, they can enjoy tasty baked food even hundreds of kilometers away from Earth. Before this new invention, most space food was cooked beforehand and ready to eat. There were not many choices for taste. The new oven has greatly made the space menu more varied (多样的). Astronauts have already tried baking popular dishes like “Orleans-style” chicken wings and black pepper beef steak. A video from the space station showed them putting the chicken wings into the oven carefully. After 28 minutes of exact heating, the fragrant and soft chicken wings were done. The crew liked them very much. However, baking in space brings special challenges. Liu Weibo, an expert in space life support technology, explained that the main difficulties are dealing with smoke and oil fumes (油烟). These could make the space station’s air dirty. The specially designed oven uses new technologies to clean smoke and collect oil. This makes sure the air in the cabin stays clean. Besides, the oven is made to be strong and long-lasting. It can work well at least 500 times to meet the needs of long space missions. The new oven is part of China’s work to make astronauts’ living conditions better in space. Now, the space station has more than 190 kinds of food. The menu is updated every 10 days to give different and healthy food choices. Apart from the oven, the “space garden” on the station is also growing well. Astronauts have successfully grown fresh vegetables like lettuce and cherry tomatoes. These add more fresh food to their meals. It turns out that a nice and delicious meal is always the best comfort—even in the huge space far from Earth. 41.What is the new thing added to China’s Tiangong Space Station? A.A space garden facility. B.A special hot-air oven. C.Fresh vegetables like lettuce. D.Pre-cooked ready-to-eat food. 42.Why is using the new oven an important step? A.It can work more than 500 times. B.It helps collect oil and clean smoke. C.It makes astronauts’ dining experience in space better. D.It is designed by space life support experts. 43.What is the main difficulty of baking in space? A.Not enough baking materials. B.Unstable heating time. C.Dealing with smoke and oil fumes. D.Little space for the oven. 44.What does China’s effort to improve space food show? A.China pays little attention to astronauts’ living needs. B.China is developing advanced space life support technologies. C.Fresh food is more important than technology in space. D.Astronauts only care about the taste of their meals. 45.What is the structure of the passage? A. B. C. But when you’re playing with your friends, hours seem like minutes. Of course, time is always passing at the same speed — but why does it sometimes feel different? A study from the Journal of Neuroscience can tell us the answer. Lead author Masamichi Hayashi and his research team found that it has to do with neurons(神经元)in our brains. Those neurons are sensitive(敏感的)to time. The researchers measured the brain activity of 18 adults who were asked to look at a picture on a screen for a period of time. They were then asked to guess how long they’d been looking at the picture. No one could answer correctly when they were asked to stare at the picture for very long or very short periods of time. After looking at their brain activity, the researchers found when the time-sensitive neurons receive the same stimulation(刺激)(such as staring at a screen) again and again, they finally get “tired” and don’t work properly — it doesn’t matter whether this period of time is long or short. However, other neurons still work normally, causing an imbalance(失衡)in the way that we experience time. When you stand in line or repeat the same task for many times, such as doing math homework, your time-sensitive neurons get tired and cause you to feel like time is going slowly. But when you’re doing something more fast-paced(快节奏的), such as playing soccer, your experience of time is opposite. Either way, you can’t always trust your brain when it comes to your experience of time. 根据短文内容,判断句子正(T)、误(F)。 46.Hayashi’s study is about why time always passes at the same time. 47.In Hayashi’s study, the 18 adults were asked to draw a picture on a screen first. 48.Time-sensitive neurons feel tired when they work for a very long time. 49.From the last paragraph, doing different things makes our experience of time different. 50.We may read the article in the science column(栏目)of the newspaper. 根据“Of course, time is always passing at the same speed — but why does it sometimes feel different?”以及“A study from the Journal of Neuroscience can tell us the answer. Lead author Masamichi”可知Hayashi的研究是关于为什么时间有时感觉以不同样的速度流逝,故答案为F。 47.细节理解题。根据“The researchers measured the brain activity of 18 adults who were asked to look at a picture on a screen for a period of time”可知在Hayashi的研究中,18名成年人被要求先在屏幕上看一幅画。故答案为F。 48.细节理解题。根据“After looking at their brain activity, the researchers found when the time-sensitive neurons receive the same stimulation(刺激)(such as staring at a screen) again and again, they finally get “tired” and don’t work properly — it doesn’t matter whether this period of time is long or short”(在观察了他们的大脑活动后,研究人员发现,当时间敏感神经元一次又一次地接受相同的刺激(例如盯着屏幕)时,它们最终会“疲劳”并且不能正常工作——这段时间是长是短无关紧要。)可知不是时间敏感神经元工作很长时间就会感到疲劳。故答案为F。 49.推理判断题。根据“When you stand in line or repeat the same task for many times, such as doing math homework, your time-sensitive neurons get tired and cause you to feel like time is going slowly. But when you’re doing something more fast-paced(快节奏的), such as playing soccer, your experience of time is opposite.” Some people think only school children do not agree with their parents; however, it is not true. 51 If it’s hard for you to communicate with your parents, don’t worry about it. Here is some advice for you to bridge the generation gap (代沟). 52 Don’t get to your parents when you are angry. Your parents probably won’t consider your idea. And you can’t express yourself well if you are angry. Go somewhere to cool off. Make sure you understand why you are unhappy. Then think about what you want to say to your parents. How long does it take you to get to school? For many students who study at Hong Kong schools but live in Shenzhen, their travel time is now less than one hour thanks to the building of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA, 大湾区). Zeng Mingyu is an 8-year-old student at SKH Wing Chun Primary School in Hong Kong. Every morning at 6:40, Zeng and his mother leave home and arrive at Liantang Port (莲塘口岸) in Shenzhen by 6:50 on their electric (电动的) bicycle. Using a special smaller counter (柜台) for kids, Zeng usually spends about 20 minutes walking through the port. The school bus picks up cross-boundary (跨境的) students at 7:20, usually getting them to school before 7:40. Thirteen-year-old student Mi Yu at Delia Memorial School (Hip Wo) has an even shorter boundary crossing time thanks to the E-Channel service on the Hong Kong side. Mi scans (扫) her non-permanent resident Hong Kong identity card (非永久居民香港身份证) at Luohu Port and the gate opens right after checking. This faster process allows her to pass through the port in just a few minutes during fast-moving situations. Liantang Port opens at 7:00 in the morning and Luohu Port opens at 6:30 for the public. But they both open a bit earlier for cross-boundary students to make sure they are the first to come in. They don’t have to get their backpacks checked either. As well as getting to school by walking through the boundary, a “one-hour living circle” in the GBA has now been realized. With the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and the high-speed rail, people have enough time to do things in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao all on the same day. “Whether it’s the easy payment (支付) tools, transportation, or the helpful policies (政策) of both governments, we feel that living across boundaries is not difficult at all,” said Zeng’s mother. Hao Feifei contributed to the story. Answer the questions: 66.Which city does Zeng Mingyu live in? 67.How far is Liantang Port from Zeng Mingyu’s home? 68.What makes Mi Yu’s boundary crossing time shorter? 69.What are the benefits of the “one-hour living circle”? 70.What does Zeng’s mother think of living across boundaries nowadays? 【答案】 66.Shenzhen. 67.Ten minutes by electric bicycle. 68.The E-Channel service on the Hong Kong side. 69.People have enough time to do things in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao all on the same day. 70.It is not difficult at all. 【难度】0.4 【知识点】说明文、交通方式 【导语】本文报道了大湾区 “1小时生活圈” 的形成,以及这一变化对居住在深圳、在香港上学的学生们带来的积极影响。 66.根据“For many students who study at Hong Kong schools but live in Shenzhen,”可知,他居住在深圳。故填Shenzhen. 67.根据“Every morning at 6:40, Zeng and his mother leave home and arrive at Liantang Port (莲塘口岸) in Shenzhen by 6:50 on their electric (电动的) bicycle.”可知,他每天早上6点40分离开家,6点50分到达深圳的莲塘口岸,因此从他家到莲塘口岸骑电动自行车需要大约十分钟。故填Ten minutes by electric bicycle. 68.根据“Thirteen-year-old student Mi Yu at Delia Memorial School (Hip Wo) has an even shorter boundary crossing time thanks to the E-Channel service on the Hong Kong side.”可知,由于香港一侧的电子通道服务,她的过关时间更短。故填The E-Channel service on the Hong Kong side. 69.根据“With the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and the high-speed rail, people have enough time to do things in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao all on the same day.”可知,“1小时生活圈”的好处是让人们有足够的时间在同一天内在广东、香港和澳门做事情。故填People have enough time to do things in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao all on the same day. 70.根据“we feel that living across boundaries is not difficult at all,”可知,他的母亲认为跨境居住根本不难。故填It is not difficult at all. A.a story book B.a magazine C.a website D.a tour guide B China’s Tiangong Space Station welcomed a new thing—a special hot-air oven! A. B. C. D. C Have you noticed that time seems to pass more slowly when you’re waiting in a long time? D 根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有一项为多余选项。 Some people think only school children do not agree with their parents; however, it is not true. 51 If it’s hard for you to communicate with your parents, don’t worry about it. If that happens, it is very important to show love and respect (尊重) to them. 54 Talk about your values (价值观). The values of your parents are probably different from those of yours. Tell your parents what you care about and why. 55 A.Communication comes first. B.Don’t argue with your parents. C.Showing respect will keep your relationship strong. A.a story book B.a magazine C.a website D.a tour guide B China’s Tiangong Space Station welcomed a new thing—a special hot-air oven! A. B. C. D. C Have you noticed that time seems to pass more slowly when you’re waiting in a long time? D 根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有一项为多余选项。 Some people think only school children do not agree with their parents; however, it is not true. 51 If it’s hard for you to communicate with your parents, don’t worry about it. If you don’t think you can speak to them at the moment, try writing a letter. Try to reach a compromise (妥协). Perhaps you and your parents disagree on something. 53 Michael’s mother didn’t agree with him about buying a motorcycle. They argued over it. But they finally came to a compromise — Michael bought the motorcycle, but only drove it on certain days. Of course, your parents might refuse to compromise on something. D.Communication is a problem for parents and children of all ages. E.Understanding your values might help them see your purpose in life. F.You can keep your disagreements and try your best to accept each other. E The human brain weighs about 1.4 kilograms, but it can hold much more information than most computers. However, there is another difference between human brains and computers. Computers don’t forget information they are given, but humans often do. No one remembers everything, and luckily we don’t usually have to. But everyone can improve their memories if they want to. Here are some suggestions. ___56_____ For example, if you meet someone who says “Hi! I’m Carlos”, don’t just say “Hello”. Repeat the person’s name and say “Hello, Carlos”. ___57_____ For example, it’s hard to remember 109244153. But if you break it into three parts—109/244/153, it will become easier. ___58_____ Writing it down will help you keep it in mind longer, especially when memorizing formulas (公式) or facts. ___59_____ If you bring what you’ve learned back to your mind, it’ll become easier to remember. For example, before you go to sleep, it’s a good idea to review the new things you’ve learned that day. ____60____ It is always easier to remember things through discussions. You can have a discussion about what’s right or wrong, and it will lead to the right answer. All of the suggestions are helpful. If you follow them, you can improve your memory. (a) 根据以上内容,选出每段的主旨大意。 A.Try to use new information immediately. B.Write down what you need to remember over and over again. C.Discuss things with friends. D.Break a big number into small parts. E.Always review information. (b) 根据以上内容,补全下面方框中的句子,每空一词。 There are some differences between the human brain and the computer. F Easy traveling Shenzhen students take less time to go to school in Hong Kong 大湾区“1小时生活圈”已形成!
