1. 并列连词and、but、or和so
连词
用法
and
but
or
so
2.并列连词both...and...、not only...but(also)...、either...or...和neither...nor...
连词
用法
both...and...
"……和……两者都;既……又……"。both...and...
not only...but (also)...
not only...but(also)...
either...or...
"不是……就是……;或者……或者……;要么……要么……"。either...or...
neither...nor...
"既不……也不……",具有否定含义。neither...nor...
(二)that、if或whether引导的宾语从句
(1)当宾语从句的主语是this、that,或主语的定语是this、that时。
He said that that was a real golden necklace.
He says, for example, that he is interested in Maths.
2.if/whether引导的宾语从句
(1)直接与or not连用时;
(2)与动词不定式连用时;
(3)作discuss等词的宾语时;

Imagine there are only two days left in your vacation and you still haven’t bought souvenirs (纪念品) for your family and friends. Are you worried? Feel free to use these tips to choose the perfect travel souvenirs.
★Do some study before travelling
If you’re travelling to a country where the culture is very different from yours, it’s a good idea to learn the culture of the country before you go. It will make sure that you get a souvenir full of cultural meanings.
★Think about who you’re buying for
Remember that this gift-giving experience isn’t about you. If your friend is picky about her clothes and you buy her a strange sweater, the gift will most likely go in a drawer (抽屉).
★Stay away from touristy souvenir shops
Don’t go to touristy (游客常去的) souvenir shops. They aren’t good places to pick up souvenirs because they are often filled with cheap and mass-produced (成批生产的) souvenirs. Go to the local market and enjoy the cultural experience there. You can find meaningful souvenirs there.
★Find handmade things
Buying handicrafts as souvenirs is always a good idea. These souvenirs will show the local culture. To find handmade things, you can look for some local workshops. There you can see the process and buy what you want directly from artists.

The human brain weighs about 1.4 kilograms, but it can, hold much more information than most computers. However, there is another difference between humans and computers. Computers don't forget information they are given, but humans often do. No one remembers everything, and luckily we don't usually have to. But everyone can improve their memory if they want to. Here are some suggestions.
◆Try to use new information immediately. For example, if you meet someone who says "Hi! I'm Carlos," don't just say "Hello." Repeat the person's name.
◆Break a big number into smaller parts. For example, it's hard to memorize (记忆) 109244153. But if you break it into three parts--109/244/153—it becomes easier.
◆Write out what you need to remember ever and over again. This will help you keep it in mind longer, especially for memorizing formulas (公式) or facts.
◆Always review information. If you bring what you've learned back to your mind, they become easier to remember. For example, before you go to sleep, it’s a good idea to review the new things you learned that clay.
◆Discuss with a friend. It is always easier to remember things through discussions. You can have a discussion about what's right and what's wrong, and it will lead to the right answer.
◆Never tell yourself that you have a bad memory. You can always do something to help improve your memory. And everyone's memory gets better if they use it often enough.
All of the suggestions are helpful. If you follow them, you are certain to improve your memory.
___1___ to improve memory
The human brain is __2____from computers.
Use new information as soon as __3____.
Break a whole thing into __4____ parts.
Writing out what you need to ___5____can help you remember thing for __6____ time.

6. 答案:longer
解析:定位原文第三条建议“This will help you keep it in mind longer”(这会帮助你把它记更久),题干中“remember thing for ______ time”(记住东西更______时间),对应原文的longer,“for a longer time”是固定表达,此处题干省略a,直接填longer(形容词比较级,体现“更久”)。
7. 答案:learned/learnt
If you bring what you've learned back to your mind, they become easier to remember.”(经常复习信息。如果你把学到的东西回想起来,它们会更容易记住),题干中“Review what you have ______”(复习你已经______的东西),对应原文的“what you've learned”,have后接动词过去分词,learn的过去分词有两种形式learned/learnt,均可。
8. 答案:discussion
解析:定位原文第五条建议“Discuss with a friend.”(和朋友讨论),题干中“Have a ______ with your friend.”(和朋友进行一次______),“have a discussion”是固定短语,对应原文的动词discuss,此处需填名词discussion(动词discuss→名词discussion)。
9. 答案:good
解析:定位原文第六条建议“Never tell yourself that you have a bad memory.”(永远不要告诉自己你的记忆力很差),结合上下文,这条建议的核心是“不要否定自己的记忆力”,即要告诉自己记忆力“好”,对应bad的反义词good,题干中“tell yourself that you have a ______ memory”(告诉自己你有______的记忆力),填good符合语义和建议逻辑。
10. 答案:improved
解析:定位原文最后一句“If you follow them, you are certain to improve your memory.”(如果你遵循它们,你一定会改善你的记忆力),题干中“your memory will be ______”(你的记忆力将会被______),此处是被动语态(will be+过去分词),对应原文的improve(动词,改善),其过去分词为improved,意为“记忆力将会被改善”,符合语义和语法。

Review what you have ___7___ in time.
Have a ___8___ with your friend.
Tell yourself that you have a ___9___ memory.
If you follow the above suggestions, your memory will be ___10___.
