I always try to encourage my children to be, think and talk positive but one day I was found not practising what I educate by my son.
My son is 7 years old and he was preparing for a sketch(小品)at his school for the occasion of Mother's day. He was playing the role of an angel. On the evening before the show, we were having a small talk while I was preparing dinner in the kitchen. He asked me: "Mum, can we see angels?" As usual, I seized the opportunity to encourage him to be positive and I said: “Yes, but only those who are, think and talk good can see angels." He responded by asking:“You must have seen them then?"
I stopped for a few seconds. I was touched by his innocence(纯真)about the fact that how he thought his mother was a perfect person. Impatiently waiting for his answer,he looked in my direction, expecting a positive answer. I chose to be honest with him and told him: "No. I've not been a good person all the time." I was almost ashamed to admit this to him, thinking that his picture of a perfect mother will now surely be torn into pieces. But he took it positively and answered: “It's alright. You know to try to be better from now on.” I smiled as I replied, "That's right. Sometimes, we might make a mistake, but when we do, we must always try to do better.”
My son's pricelesswords struck me right in my heart and are always with me.I kept "always try to be better" in my mind that day and this will always help me in all situations where I'll need to be, do and think positive.
24.What was the son doing before the show?

B.Dressing up as an angel.

A.Surprised and satisfied. B.Touched and grateful.
C.Confused and worried. D.Doubtful and unconcerned.
27.Which can be a suitable title for the passage?
A.A kind act. B.A Perfect Mother.
C.A Valuable Lesson. D.An Impressive Sketch.

Reindeers may not have noses that glow red inthe night, but they do have a special body part that changes color in winter darkness. In 2013, scientists discovered that reindeer eyes change color with the seasons, reflecting the color of the Arctic sky.If you look into the eyes of an Arctic reindeer in summer, when the days are long and the sun is bright, you will see shining back a gold and turquoise glow, similar to the green reflection of cats' eyes in the night. In wintertime, however, when darkness covers, a reindeer's eye does something unique. It turns an amazing deep blue.
The exact secrets behind the change in structure are not yet known, but researchers think it has to do with fluid(液体)in the eye. In 2022,Fosbury and colleagues studied the difference between the eyes of reindeer that had died in summer and those that had died in winter. Their findings support the idea that constant opening wider of the pupils(瞳孔)in low light affects the eyes' fluid balance, possibly causing structural changes in the tapetum(反光膜).Unfortunately, the scientists were unable to compare structures of the same tapetum across both seasons, but based on their results, they say,"it is clear that any difference is small."
"We still need more time to understand how the seasonal structural change in the eye is caused," the researchers admitted."However the change is caused, it clearly must be reversible. It can go back to how it was before."
To solve the mystery, it maybe necessary to study reindeer eyes in autumn and spring,to see how they gradually change between their winter and summer color. For now, the eyes of the Arctic reindeer appear to be unique. Yet there may be other mammals out there living in low-light conditions with similar ways to live better in the dark.
28.What did scientists find out about reindeers?
A.They have a special body part.
B.The color of their eyes varies with seasons.
C.Their eyes shine back green like cats' eyes.
D.Their eyes turn amazing deep blue in winter.
29.What can we conclude from scientists' study in 2022?
A.They studied the difference between the eyes in summer and winter.
B.The continuous widening of the pupils may change the eyes' fluid level.
C.They failed to compare the same tapetum's structures across both seasons.
D.They have already known the reason why seasonal structure changes in the eye.
30.What does the underlined word “reversible"mean?
A.Visible B.Reasonable.
C.Acceptable. D.Recoverable.
31.Where is this passage most likely taken from?
A.A news report. B.A biology textbook.
C.A science magazine. D.An animal guidebook.

The Honghe Hani Rice Terraces in Yunnan province, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System, were further honored when they were added to the 2025 World HIeritage Irrigation Structures list on Sept 10.It is now one of the few agricultural civilizations worldwide to achieve all three heritage titles. The system vividly demonstrates the Chinese nation's ecoogical wisdom of "harmonious coexistence between humans and nature".
The terraces were built as early as the Tang Dynasty (618-907). The local Hani ethnic group carved the terraces along the mountain slopes, passing down their agricultural practices through generations. Today, 305 canals crisscross the area, while canals channel water through the villages to irrigate(灌溉)the terraces.
Locals regard the mountain forests as “sacred(神圣的)”,where there is a strict rule against cutting down trees. Ma Youde, a villager, says,“If anyone needs timber to build a house, it must be allowed by the entire village. After a tree is cut down, it must immediately be replaced."
In recent years, the ecological and cultural value of the Hani Terraces has gained global recognition. The local government has carried out multiple measures, including village planning, ecological compensation(补偿)and a comprehensive monitoring system, to promote the high-level protection and utilization of the heritage. For example, the coming water system connectivity project will mix traditional irrigation wisdom with modern water technologies, developing local agriculture.
The terraces are not fields. They are an example of harmonious coexistence between human beings and nature, showing the ancient wisdom of adapting to and working with the natural environment. Today, these great terraces not only feed the local people butalso attract visitors around the world.
32.What can we learn about the Honghe Hani Rice Terraces?
A.It became a UNESCO World Heritage Site on Sept 10,2025.
B. Its agricultural practices have been handed down for centuries.
C.The 305 canals were built during the Tang Dynasty to water the terraces.
D. It is the first agricultural civilization in the world to win three heritage titles.
33.What does Ma Youde's words mean?
A. Trees can be cut down anytime.
B. Locals are forbidden to cut down trees.
C.Trees won't be replanted after cutting down.
D.Strict rules must be followed when cutting down trees.
34.What measure has been taken to protect the terraces?
A.Promoting cultural value. B.Making up for ecology.
C.Monitoring water system. D.Developing modern technology.
35.What is the author's purpose in writing the text?
A. To describe the living habits of the locals.
B. To explain the irrigation system of the terraces.
C. To introduce the historical origin of the terraces.
D.To show the value and protection efforts of the terraces.

My cousin Lila has been my closest friend since we were veryyoung. We did everything together, sharing our happiest moments and deepest secrets. We went to the same school, took part in the same after-school activities, and even wore matching necklaces that reminded us of our special bond. Everyone around us used to say we were like "two peas in a pod," and I truly felt my life would be empty without her.
However, last semester, a serious problem almost destroyed our friendship. We were asked to work as a team on a history presentation, and we both wanted to be the leader. We argued about everything-the topic, the design, and even how to speak during the presentation. Lila thought we should use morepictures and creative designs to make it interesting, while I believed it was more important to include strong facts and careful research. Our disagreement became so heated that we ended up shouting at each other in front of the whole class. After that, we did not talk for two whole weeks.During that time, I felt very sad and lonely,as if a part of me was missing.
My mother noticed mysadness and sat down to talk with me. She gently said,“Remember, with family and true friends, it is not about who wins the argument. It is about understanding each other and finding a way to work together.”Her words stayed in my mind. I realized I had been so focused on proving I was right that I had forgotten how much Lila meant to me. I decided to text her and ask her to meet me at the park where we used to play as children. When we met, I apologized first for being so stubborn. To my surprise, Lila had tears in her eyes and said she was sorry too, explaining that she had also been difficul. We hugged and promised to listen to each other more carefully from then on.

That afternoon,we decided to give the project another try.I suggested we combine our strengths:
"What if you tell the story, and I back it up?"Lila's eyes lit up.We spent hours brainstorming,
laughing again as ideas flowed. She sketched a timeline with vivid historical scenes while I filled in
dates and events. For the first time in weeks,we weren't rivals-we were a team.In the classroom
the next day,we stood side by side and delivered our presentation, working perfectly well in front of
the class
After the project presentation,Lila and I talked a lot.The teacher's praise still echoed,but what
mattered more was the quiet understanding between us."Remember how we almost let this break
us?"Lila said softly.I nodded,squeezing her hand.The A+was just a bonus,the real victory was
learning to choose our fiendship over our pride.Sometimes, the hardest fights lead to the deepest
healing, and I now knew our close friendship could weather any storm.

(Text 1)
M:I'm only working three days a week now.How many days do you work at the store,Jenny?
W:Usually Monday through Friday, but sometimes I work on Saturday too.
(Text2)
M:Was everything all right?
W:Yes,it was wonderful.I especially liked the dessert.
M:It is one ofour specialties.
W:May I have the check,please?
(Text 3)
M:Penny,I don't know how to set up the wireless printer.
W:Well, you do need to run the set-up program before you can print from your laptop.Have a look
at the instructions.Here they are.
(Text 4)

W:How long have you been in this area?
M:We moved here five years ago. Before that,we were in a very small office building in the center
oftown
W:And when was the company set up?
M:Ten years ago,by our boss Simon Donna
(Text 5)
W:Excuse me.I was just wondering where you bought that.
M:This sandwich?Just down the road at the cafe.
W:OK.Thanks.I'll go and get one myself.
(Text 6)
W:What are you doing this weekend?
M:I'm going to the flower festival with my parents. You're going to the music festival then,
aren't you?I heard they've got some fantastic bands this year and are expecting thousands of
visitors!
W:Yes,that's right.My friend's father is organizing the event,so we've got free tickets
M:Lucky you!
W:Yes,but we've both got to help.My friend's got to check tickets. He's asked me to take photos,
and I don't mind doing that.
(Text 7)
W:Did you see that documentary,Nature Watch,last night?
M:I did.I wouldn't want to miss anything from that series.I didn't think it was as good as last
week's one on elephants,though.
W:I actually find dolphins much more interesting,so I thought last night's one was better. The next
one's about bears, which should be great.
M:Yeah,I can't wait. There is one problem with the series though
W:Oh,what's that?
M:I really can't find any problem with the camera work, but I think whoever wrote the
music shouldn't be asked to do it for a nature series again. It's a bit annoying, especially when
I try to focus on the story.
(Text 8)
M:Sally, tell me something about your gap year.
W:Oh,well,my gap year was very different from yours!I decided to stay at home and work.
M:Oh,why did you decide to do that?
W:Actually,I had to.My family are not rich,so I had to work to pay for my university courses.
M:And did you enjoy that?
W:Hmm,it was OK.The pay was not that good, and the work itself was not creative, but I got
on well with the people I worked with. So,do you feel a gap year is a good thing?
M:Yes!It was a great chance to see the world before I went to university.
W:You're lucky,Rob!

(Text 9)
W:So,I've decided to make a wish list like I was telling you.I've put down some ideas, but now I
can't think of anything else.Any ideas?
M:Have you ever been on a hot-air balloon ride?
W:No,I haven't.
M:It's really fun-you get great views ofthe city and the countryside. You should definitely add it
to your list.
W:Right,OK,hot-air balloon ride.
M:Have you thought aboutjoining a drama club? You could perform in a play
W:Well,that's a challenge!I've never performed in a play.Anything else?
M:Here's another idea.Have you ever been to a film festival?
W:No,I've never done that,but I'd like to.
M:And here's another one.I know you care about animals. Why don't you start a local group to
raise money for wildlife?
W:Yes,that's something I've always wanted to do.
(Text 10)
M:Good morning, everyone. If you ask me which city I really want to visit,it's Rome, the capital of
Italy. It's a city that has always attracted me because ofits culture.I'm particularly interested in its
architecture since it has examples from all major European styles ofbuilding.Besides,it was the
capital of the Roman Empire,so it has a wonderful collection ofpublic buildings from that time.
What I think is great about Rome is that many ofthe beautiful and historic buildings are still in use,
as galleries, public offices and even houses. They are not all locked up as museums,so it's really
living history there.Even though it's an expensive city to stay in,I'd like to go there for at least a
month,as there's so much to see and do.During my time there,I'd have to be careful that I didn't
spend too much on Roman food!Plus,I'd like to find a cheap hotel. It would probably be in the
centro storico, the old center of the city, probably within walking distance of the River Tevere.
Most visitors to Rome would agree that it is a very special place but for me,it's Europe's most
historic and romantic city.

A篇
21.答案:A
What You'll Be Doing部
You'l talk about current events and interesting personal topics..
A项分享时事与talk about current events'直接对应,
What You'll Benefit From
Learn new cultures and customs from group members.”
愿者是辅助他人学习而非接受课程:C项全年都有小组会议与原文fall and winter..with a
与help learners of all levels,.including beginners的要求不符:B项有教学经验的移民”虽然可
son is 7 years old and he was preparing for a sketch()at his school for the occasion of Mother's
I was almost ashamed to admit this to him, thinking that his picture of a perfect
mother will now surely be torn into pieces..”
and tal业good)”。
Impatiently waiting for his answer
第四段提到,儿子的回应("You know to try to be better from now on.”)
My son's priceless words struck me right in my heart and are
always with me.”
A项
Tn2013,scientists
discovered that reindeer eyes change color with the seasons..
A项
Unfortunately, the scientists were unable to compare structures ofthe same tapetum across both
seasons.
"However the change is caused,it clearly must be reversible. It can go back to how it was before."
根据下文It can go back..”(它能变回原来的样子)的解释,可推知reversible”意为可逆
A项
The local Hani ethnic group carved the terraces..passing down their agricultural
practices through generations.”
称号的农业文明错误,第一段说它是one ofthe few.to achieve all three”,并非he first”。
needs timber to build a house,it must be allowed by the entire village. After a tree is cut down,it must
“Strict rules must be followed when cutting down trees.”
goverment has carried out multiple measures,including..ecological compensation(生态补偿)
B项Making up for ecology”(生态补偿)与此对应。A
A项
由设空处上文提出the key is to keep it balanced,.not
Here are four ways to manage
stress and take control.
Exercise is the best physical way
to manage stress.
It raises your heart
rate and blood pressure, just like stress does..
Try to go to bed earlier and wake
up at the same time every morning,so your body gets into a routine.”,以及下文安慰读者Your
body can handle less sleep once in a while, and your natural rhythms will reset gradually over time."
Don't wory if you can't fall asleep quickly.”
Save time to relax and recharge.”
开头给出一个具体做法(taking a few minutes to think about your
Planning your day ahead can help you pace yourself well..
40.答案:A
Everyone worries..Keeping your troubles to yourself makes
them bigger.Sharing with a trusted fiiend..lightens the load..,可推断出此标题需直接体现
A项Talk it out.” Sty
away from troubles.
故选A项。
项辨析:nervously(紧张地)、angrily(生气地)、calmly(平静地)均不符合两人对乐队
42.B.stopped固定搭配+语境:stopsb.from doing sth.
放)、protect(保护)、separate(分开),separate常见搭配为separate A from B(把A和B
选项辨析:happily(开心地)、carelessly(粗心地)、proudly(
44.A.give up短语辨析+语境:give up意为“放弃”。
up(加速)、goon(继续)均不符合语境。
选项辨析:mistake(错误)、wish
选项辨析:op(下降)、relax
(放松)、disappear(消失)均不符合技能提升的逻辑。
选项辨析:look up(查阅)、waitup(熬夜等候)、pay up(付清)
选项辨析:imed(疲惫的)、confused(困惑的)
、satisfied(满意的)均不符合赛前既紧张又坚定的心态。
选项辨析:exam(考试)、debate(讨论,辩论)、game(游戏)均与“才艺表
选项辨析:cied(哭)、shouted(大喊)、called(呼叫)均不如cheered(
