In my high school PE class last fall, I watched a quiet girl find her leadership by creating a new rule, a slow boy find his confidence as a goalkeeper, and a group of unconcerned students become a team that cheered for every victory. More than once, I was surprised by students’ growth moments.
But things were different at the beginning of the semester. Then, in our PE class, the first unit was a traditional series of training: running, doing push-ups, and practicing basketball shots. Most students practiced unwillingly. Their movements were slow, and few showed any real enjoyment. I was a little disappointed. Then I realized that the problem was the way itself. The children would play for hours in their own invented games.
As a new month started, I changed our focus to student-designed games and team challenges. They found the activities much more exciting. In the next unit, we did working-together adventure games. After that, we had a sports event chosen by students. I only required that everyone take part actively and that the team work together to achieve a goal. The results were wonderful. The students welcomed the challenges. The classes were filled with laughter. Students also solved problems in creative ways, and everyone supported each other. They changed totally.
I walked into the semester believing that PE was important for building physical fitness and teaching sports skills. However, my students showed something more important to me. When the final whistle (哨子) blew in December, I walked away with a new plan about sport’s most valuable reward — the power to build confidence, to unite a group, and to help us discover the best in ourselves and each other.
24.What happened to the students according to paragraph 1?
A.They experienced great changes.
B.They won an important sports competition.
C.They complained about the difficult training.
D.They failed to meet the teacher’s expectations.
25.Why did the students perform poorly at first?
A.They had weak sports skills.
B.They were short of team spirit.
C.The training activities were challenging.
D.The training method failed to attract them.
26.What change did the author make?
A.He invited key coaches for guidance.
B.He introduced more challenging games.
C.He focused on student-led and team sports.
D.He increased the difficulty of physical training.
27.What does the author’s experience show?
A.Teaching is learning. B.Still waters run deep.
C.Training is powerful. D.Practice makes perfect.

If you want to become a fluent English speaker, you should take some advice: there are four skills in learning English. They are listening, speaking, reading and writing. The most important thing you must remember is that if you want to improve your speaking and writing skills, you should first gain the skills of reading and listening.
Read as much as you can. But your reading must be active. It means that you must think about the meaning of the sentences, the meaning of the unfamiliar words, etc.
There is no need for you to pay much attention to grammar or try to understand all the unfamiliar words you come across, but the fact you see them for the first time and recognize them whenever you see them, for example in other passages or books, is enough. It would be better to prepare yourself a notebook so you can write down the important words or sentences in it.
As for listening, there are two choices: besides reading, you can listen every day for about 30 minutes. You can only pay attention to your reading and become skillful at your reading, then you can catch up on your listening. Since you have lots of inputs (输入) in your mind, you can easily guess what the speaker is going to say. This never means that you should not practice listening.
For listening, you can listen to cartoons or some movies that are specially made for children. Their languages are easy. Or if you are good at listening, you can listen to VOA or BBC programs every day. Again the thing to remember is being active in listening and preferably taking some notes. If you follow these pieces of advice, your speaking and writing will improve automatically, and you can be sure that with a little effort they will become perfect.
28.According to the author, which should you improve first among the four skills?
A.Reading and listening. B.Reading and writing.
C.Writing and speaking. D.Speaking and listening.
29.To improve your reading, when you read, you should ________.
A.look up all the new words in the dictionary.
B.think about what you are reading actively.
C.spend more time studying grammar.
D.copy as many words and sentences as possible.
30.What does the underlined words “come across” in Paragraph 3 mean?
A.Meet by accident. B.Wind up. C.Lose on purpose. D.Look for.
31.Which of the following may the author agree with?
A.Everyone should listen to VOA or BBC programs every day.
B.You needn’t practice listening if you keep in reading every day.
C.Being good at reading is helpful in improving your listening.
D.You should take notes of whatever you are hearing.
D
As one of the fashions in education in recent memory, you’ve certainly heard of the flipped classroom (翻转课堂). It is a type of blended learning where students are introduced to knowledge at home and practice using it at school. This is the opposite of the more common practice of introducing new content at school, then giving homework and projects to be completed by the students independently at home.
In this blended learning model, face-to-face communication is mixed with independent study — usually through videos and e-dictionaries. In a common flipped classroom setting, students might watch pre-recorded videos at home, then come to school to do the homework armed with questions and at least some background knowledge.
The idea behind the flipped classroom is to rethink when students can use the resources they need most. If the problem is that students need help with the work rather than being introduced to the new thinking behind the work, then the solution the flipped classroom takes is to reverse the traditional teaching method.
In a flipped classroom, students watch online lectures (线上讲座), review online course materials, read physical or digital texts, and take part in an online discussion at home. What happens at school includes skill practice, in-person or face-to-face discussions with classmates, presentations, experiments, peer (同行) review, and so on. It allows students to stop, look up words online, and rewatch, creating a ready-made library for student review.
Of course, it’s not that simple. There are some disadvantages of a flipped classroom. Just like in a regular classroom, success depends greatly on the quality of teachers, the clarity of conversations, and the quality of given courses, tests, and instructions. Further, fairness is still a major issue, and it doesn’t fix the outdated method most educational systems take to courses.
32.What does the flipped classroom feature?
A.More dependence on hobbies. B.Technology-assisted learning.
C.Parent-child cooperation. D.Less focus on textbooks.
33.What does the underlined word “reverse” mean in paragraph 3?
A.Research. B.Examine. C.Change. D.Shape.
34.What is the advantage of the flipped classroom?
A.It gives personalized experiences. B.It develops creativity in students.
C.It builds trust among peers. D.It simplifies learning steps.
35.Why is the flipped classroom criticized?
A.It fails to change teachers’ thinking. B.It hardly improves students’ grades.
C.It causes unclear dialogues. D.It only touches the surface.

However, there are ways that you can stay safe during a thunderstorm. Here are some tips on how to reduce your risk of being struck by lightning.
Go inside as soon as possible
Staying outside during a thunderstorm is very dangerous. You must be in a building where all the sides are enclosed. Even being in a car is safer than being outside. 37 .

39
When your mother told you not to run water during a thunderstorm, she was right. Water is a dangerous conductor of electricity, which can travel through it in the pipes and enter your home.
Don’t ignore thunder
If you are close enough to hear thunder, you are close enough to get struck by lighting so take cover immediately. Lightning can actually strike 10 to 15 miles away from the core of the thunderstorm. Some lightning can strike an area where it is not raining yet. 40 .
A.Avoid using running water
B.Don’t touch anything connected to the outdoors
C.If you are hiking on a mountain, go down and not up
D.In fact, lightning is dangerous and can strike without warning

书面表达1
Dear Chris,
How is everything going? I’m writing to share something exciting with you.
Since I entered high school, I’ve not only gained knowledge but also taken part in various school activities. The one that impressed me most was our school’s English Drama Festival last month. Our class performed a short play based on The Little Prince. I played the fox, and though I was nervous at first, I gradually gained confidence on stage. Through this experience, I improved my spoken English and learned the importance of teamwork. More importantly, it helped me overcome my fear of speaking in public.
I still remember you told me that your school also holds interesting events. What activity has left the deepest impression on you? I’m really curious and looking forward to your story!
Yours,
Li Hua
书面表达2
Tim was too anxious about the exam to fall asleep, even though he knew he needed a good rest. Tim was too anxious about the exam to fall asleep, even though he knew he needed a good rest. He stared at the ceiling, his mind racing with math problems he’d practiced. Every time he tried to relax, the thought of “what if I fail again” made his heart beat faster. Just then, he remembered Mr. Smith’s words: “Progress takes time, not just one night.” He took a slow breath, hugged his pillow tightly, and forced himself to put the exam out of his mind. Gradually, the tiredness took over, and he fell asleep.
The next day, Tim went to the exam room with Mr. Smith’s encouragement. When he saw Mr. Smith standing outside the room, giving him a thumbs-up, Tim felt his nerves calm down. As he read the paper, he found many questions matched the ones he’d reviewed with his study group. He wrote down his answers steadily, pausing only to double-check the tricky parts. When he finished, he felt light and happy—for the first time, he didn’t fear math exams. He knew his hard work hadn’t been in vain.
详解:阅读A【知识点】应用文、旅游观光
【导语】本文是一篇应用文。文章介绍了法国四个景区的露营地。
21.细节理解题。根据SAUMUR, LOIRE部分“With the wonderful Château de Montsoreau only a 10-minute walk away, and the historic town of Saumur but a 15-minute drive, there’s also plenty to please people who like exploring culture.(距离这座美妙的蒙索罗城堡仅有10分钟的步行路程,而历史悠久的索米尔镇也只需15分钟的车程。对于喜欢探索文化的人来说,这里还有很多值得游览的地方)”可知,对文化感兴趣的人可能会选择Camping L’ Isle Verte。故选B。
22.细节理解题。根据CÉVENNES NATIONAL PARK部分“Lying next to the Cévennes National Park, there’s plenty to discover in the surrounding area, too, with activities including hiking, white-water kayaking (划独木舟) and caving.(它紧邻塞文山脉国家公园,周边地区同样有很多值得探索的地方,可以进行的活动包括徒步旅行、划独木舟和洞穴探险)”可知,在Camping Huttopia Gorges du Tarn,游客可以探索国家公园周边。故选D。
23.推理判断题。根据第一段“Enjoy a trip to the most beautiful regions of France with a stay at these amazing campsites.(来一场穿越法国最美地区的旅行吧,入住这些绝佳的露营地即可享受美妙之旅)”以及文章主要介绍了法国四个不同地区的露营地,包括每个露营地的特色、周边景点以及可进行的活动,目的是吸引游客前往,所以这篇文章很可能来自旅游宣传册。故选A。
阅读B【知识点】高中生活、记叙文
【导语】本文是一篇记叙文。文章主要讲述了作者在高中体育课上通过改变教学方式,让学生们经历巨大变化并收获成长的故事。
24.细节理解题。根据第一段“In my high school PE class last fall, I watched a quiet girl find her leadership by creating a new rule, a slow boy find his confidence as a goalkeeper, and a group of unconcerned students become a team that cheered for every victory. More than once, I was surprised by students’ growth moments.(去年秋天在我的高中体育课上,我看到一个安静的女孩通过制定新规则找到了自己的领导力,一个迟缓的男孩作为守门员找到了自信,一群漠不关心的学生变成了一个为每一次胜利欢呼的团队。我不止一次对学生的成长时刻感到惊讶)”可知,学生们经历了巨大的变化。故选A。
25.细节理解题。根据第二段“Most students practiced unwillingly. Their movements were slow, and few showed any real enjoyment. I was a little disappointed. Then I realized that the problem was the way itself. The children would play for hours in their own invented games.(大多数学生都不愿意练习。他们的动作很慢,很少有人表现出真正的享受。我有点失望。然后我意识到问题出在方法本身。孩子们会在自己发明的游戏中玩上几个小时)”可知,学生们一开始表现不佳是因为训练方法没有吸引他们。故选D。
26.细节理解题。根据第三段“As a new month started, I changed our focus to student-designed games and team challenges.(随着新的一月的开始,我把我们的重点转向了学生设计的游戏和团队挑战)”可知,作者做出的改变是专注于学生主导和团队运动。故选C。
27.推理判断题。根据最后一段“I walked into the semester believing that PE was important for building physical fitness and teaching sports skills. However, my students showed something more important to me. When the final whistle (哨子) blew in December, I walked away with a new plan about sport’s most valuable reward — the power to build confidence, to unite a group, and to help us discover the best in ourselves and each other.(我走进这个学期时,相信体育对于增强体质和传授运动技能很重要。 故选A。
阅读C【知识点】说明文、语言学习策略
【导语】本文是一篇说明文。文章为想流利表达英语的人提供了建议,首先应掌握阅读和听力技能,然后口语和写作技能会自动提高。
28.细节理解题。根据第一段“The most important thing you must remember is that if you want to improve your speaking and writing skills, you should first gain the skills of reading and listening.(你必须牢记的最重要的一点是:如果你想提高自己的口语和写作能力,那么首先就应该掌握阅读和听力的技能)”可知,在四项技能中应该首先提高阅读和听力技能。故选A。
29.细节理解题。根据第二段“Read as much as you can. But your reading must be active. It means that you must think about the meaning of the sentences, the meaning of the unfamiliar words, etc.(尽可能多地阅读。但你的阅读必须是积极主动的。这意味着你必须思考句子的意思、不熟悉的单词的意思等等)”可知,为了提高阅读技能,阅读时应该积极地思考正在阅读的内容。故选B。
30.词句猜测题。根据划线词上文“There is no need for you to pay much attention to grammar or try to understand all the unfamiliar words(你无需过分关注语法,也无需试图去理解……所有生僻词汇)”以及后文“but the fact you see them for the first time and recognize them whenever you see them, for example in other passages or books, is enough.(但重要的是,你第一次见到他们时就能认出他们,而且无论何时再次见到他们(比如在其他篇章或书籍中),你都能认出他们,这就足够了)”可知,此处指阅读时意外遇见的生僻词汇,故划线词意思是“意外遇见”。故选A。
31.推理判断题。根据第四段中“You can only pay attention to your reading and become skillful at your reading, then you can catch up on your listening. Since you have lots of inputs (输入) in your mind, you can easily guess what the speaker is going to say.(你只需专注于阅读并提高阅读能力,这样你就能跟上听力的学习进度了。因为你的脑海中有很多信息输入,所以你能很容易地猜出说话者接下来会说什么)”可知,熟练地阅读,确保有大量的输入,可以提高听力技能。由此推知,作者会同意“善于阅读有助于提高你的听力”的观点。故选C。
阅读D【知识点】当代教育问题、说明文、学习
【导语】本文是一篇说明文。文章主要介绍了翻转课堂这一混合式学习模式的概念、实施方式、核心理念及存在的优缺点。
32.细节理解题。根据文章第二段中的“In this blended learning model, face-to-face communication is mixed with independent study — usually through videos and e-dictionaries. (在这种混合学习模式中,面对面交流与独立学习相结合,通常通过视频和电子词典来实现独立学习)”可知,翻转课堂的核心特征是依赖技术工具,如视频、电子词典等辅助学习。故选B项。
33.词句猜测题。根据第三段中的“the solution the flipped classroom takes is to reverse the traditional teaching method. (翻转课堂的解决方案是reverse传统教学方法)”,结合第一段中的“This is the opposite of the more common practice of introducing new content at school, then giving homework and projects to completed by the students independently at home. (这与更常见的做法相反——通常是在学校教授新内容,然后让学生在家独立完成家庭作业和项目)”以及第四段的介绍可知,reverse在此语境中指彻底改变传统教学模式,即:翻转课堂的解决方案是颠覆传统教学方法,故选C项。
34.细节理解题。根据第四段中的“It allows students to stop, look up words online, and rewatch, creating a ready-made library for student review. (它允许学生暂停、在线查词、重复观看,形成可随时复习的资源库)”可知,翻转课堂的核心优势是支持学生按个人节奏自主学习。故选A项。
35.推理判断题。根据文章末段中的“Further, fairness is still a major issue, and it doesn’t fix the outdated method most educational systems take to courses. (此外,公平性仍是主要问题,它并未解决教育系统普遍采用的过时教学方法)”可推知,批评的核心是翻转课堂未能触及教育体系的根本缺陷,仅停留在表面改良。故选D项。
七选五【知识点】自然灾害与防范
【导语】本文是一篇说明文。文章介绍了在雷雨天气中保持安全的一些建议。
36.前文“Lightning is not something to be taken lightly. (闪电是不能掉以轻心的。)”强调闪电不可轻视,后文“However, there are ways that you can stay safe during a thunderstorm. (然而,有一些方法可以让你在雷雨天气中保持安全。)”有转折,指出有办法确保安全,此处应补充闪电的危险性,因此D项“In fact, lightning is dangerous and can strike without warning (事实上,闪电很危险,且可能毫无预兆地击中目标)”符合语境,解释闪电不可轻视的原因,和后文构成转折。故选D。
37.前文“Even being in a car is safer than being outside. (即使是在车里也比在外面安全。)”提到车内比室外安全,此处需解释原因,因此G项“The metal shell of it spreads the lightning around you and to the ground (它的金属外壳会将闪电分散到你周围并导入地面)”符合语境,为车内更安全提供科学依据,其中的it指代前文的a car。故选G。
38.前文“If you cannot get to a shelter, stay as low as possible, so that you are not the tallest thing around in a storm. (如果你不能找到一个避难所,尽可能地呆在低的地方,这样你就不会是暴风雨中最高的东西。)”建议尽量呆在低的地方,后文“Avoid places like fields, or hilltops and stay away from tall, isolated trees. (不要去田野或山顶之类的地方,远离高大、孤立的树木。)”提到避免田野、山顶、高大且孤立的树木,因此C项“If you are hiking on a mountain, go down and not up (如果你在登山,应向下走而非向上)”符合语境,同样是让自己保持低的建议,和前后文逻辑一致。故选C。
39.后文“When your mother told you not to run water during a thunderstorm, she was right. Water is a dangerous conductor of electricity, which can travel through it in the pipes and enter your home. (当你妈妈告诉你在雷雨天气不要放水时,她是对的。水是一种危险的电导体,它可以通过管道进入你的家。)”告诫雷雨时不用自来水,说明其危险性,此处需概括性标题句,且需和其他段落标题一样使用祈使句的形式,因此A项“Avoid using running water (避免使用流动的水)”符合语境,契合后文内容,和后面的not to run water呼应。故选A。
40.前文“Lightning can actually strike 10 to 15 miles away from the core of the thunderstorm. Some lightning can strike an area where it is not raining yet. (实际上,闪电可以击中距离雷暴中心10到15英里的地方。有些闪电会击中尚未下雨的地区。)”提到闪电可能在未下雨地区发生,此处需给出应对的措施,因此E项“So don’t stay in the pool or play an extra game until the rain starts (所以别在泳池里逗留或额外再玩一局,直到开始下雨)”符合语境,建议下雨前就避开闪电,承接前文。

此处为“so...that...”结构,意为“如此……以至于……”,so修饰形容词tight。故填so。

62.考查副词。句意:在决赛中,他表现极其出色,甚至掌控了整场比赛,在第二局中,他凭借巧妙而精准的策略以11 - 2击败对手。此处修饰形容词outstanding,应用副词形式,extreme的副词为extremely,意为“极其,非常”。故填extremely。

W: Hey, Bill. I hear they’re going to send you to Germany for the new project.M: Boy, news travels fast around here! I only got the orders a couple of hours ago. Rachel doesn’t even know…W: Oh, no? So, what are you waiting for? When do you plan to tell her?M: Well, she is at work at the moment. She doesn’t finish until 5. I’ll have to wait until tonight now, I suppose.W: Well, I was posted there before, back in 2008. It’s OK — a bit like England, really. At least the weather is similar, and the people aren’t much different. The only thing I didn’t like is the food, especially the sausages. What do you intend to do about the family? Are you going to take them with you?M: Well, I’d like to, but I don’t know much about the situation at the moment…you know, about schools and all that. But I hope to move the family out there in a couple of months’ time. I don’t think I want to spend a year and a half out there on my own...I mean, without Rachel and the kids. I mean, I don’t see that much of them now as it is.W: Yeah. Well, that’s the way it is normally in our company, I suppose.M: Yeah. Well, we’ll see. Let me pay for the coffee.W: No, no. I’ll pay.

W: Hello, everyone. Welcome to our program. I’m Jenny Jackson. The weather here in Juarez has become unbearable. With no rains for over a year, the city is suffering from unusually hot weather. Some light showers have been forecast since last month, but all of them have been effective in surrounding areas. Summer has not even started yet, but temperatures have reached 40 degrees centigrade in the past three days. And people have been warned not to go out of their homes — not if you walk on foot, at least — between 11 in the morning and 7 in the evening. Little kids and the elderly are the ones who have suffered the most from this extreme heat wave. They must drink water all the time. To help our audience have a better understanding of this extreme weather, we have invited Prof. Torres from University of Mexico to our studio this evening.
