How many of us could go a week without our phones? I can’t even remember the last time I went a day without the Internet. Technology makes our lives easier. However, we have to face the fact: Technology makes us lazy.
In the past, when we wanted to do something relaxing, we got dressed and drove to the movies or went out to have fun with friends. Now we don’t need to go out. ▲ We just sit on the sofa and turn on the computer. Then we can have a great time.
We find the answers to everything using search websites. When we have problems, we usually try to find out the answer online. Many of us don’t try to read books or ask for help to work out the problems.
I get the feeling that we’re getting closer and closer to the day when people won’t even be able to read paper maps. Many young people have no idea how to find a place in their own cities without using a navigation app (导航软件) .
How can we detach from too much technology? Using technology becomes a habit, and it’s difficult to stop using it completely. What we can do is to start doing more things without technology.
We have to learn how to enjoy our free time without it. Although it’s not easy, we can start from small things. For example, turn off phones and computers from time to time. Check e-mails or chat online only once or twice a day. We can also engage in (参与) interesting activities without relying on (依赖) technology, such as playing sports and walking the dog.
28. Which can be put into ________ ?
A. We can’t stop using technology. B. We don’t need to leave the house for fun.
C. People enjoyed outdoor sports before. D. Young people would like to have fun at home.
29. Many young people ________ to find a place.
A. use a BDS B. read paper maps
C. draw a road map D. ask others for help
30. The underlined words have the closest meaning to ________.

词义猜测题。根据“How can we detach from too much technology?”可知,此处表示我们如何可以摆脱太多的技术,detach from与C选项“break away from”(摆脱)意思最接近。故选C。
【31题详解】
主旨大意题。全文主题围绕“科技让人变懒”展开。文章开头提出“Technology makes us lazy”,随后通过娱乐、搜索、导航等例子说明人们依赖科技导致行动和思考减少,最后提出减少科技使用的建议。因此D选项“太多的技术不利于我们”最符合主旨。故选D。

In China, with more and more people speaking Putonghua at school and at home, some local dialects (方言) are slowly disappearing.
Not long ago, some young people were asked how to say “kitchen” in Shanghainese. Most of them answered “zi vang” instead of the traditional “zao dou ge”. In Shanxi, many children don’t know “qu deng”, which means “get a light”. In the old days, “qu deng” was a match. It was a small piece of wood with some powder on it. People used it to make fire.
An expert on language talked about his worry about the disappearance of dialects. He said, “Language clearly shows the history of an area. Dialects are key to keeping local cultures. In some kinds of art shows, like local operas and short plays, dialects play an important role. So we must try our best to protect the dialects.”
Luckily, the government started the Chinese Language Resources Protection Project (中国语言资源保护工程) a few years ago. This project studies how people speak in 1, 712 places. Their languages include 103 dialects that are almost gone. So far, language experts and dialect speakers have built the world’s largest language resource library. The project is in its second stage. This includes creating digital tools like apps and mobile dictionaries to help people learn dialects.
In China, people mostly speak Putonghua. As a result, many ___50___ can’t speak local dialects. Experts think dialects are important for some art performances. So ___51___ . Luckily, a project was started ___52___ some years ago to save the dialects. Now ___53___ , which includes creating more tools to help people with the dialects.

Nowadays, Chinese people have more opportunities to enjoy various leisure activities. Traveling has become increasingly popular. Over the past few years, the number of Chinese tourists has grown rapidly, reaching 5. 6 billion domestic trips (国内游) in 2024 alone, while the income (收入) from domestic tourism reached 5.75 trillion (万亿) yuan in this year, showing a rapid growth.
In their free time, Chinese people today enjoy traveling to different places in China much more than going abroad. Traveling methods are developing rapidly. Most people prefer fast and convenient ways of traveling. However, reaching some places can be challenging, especially for first-time visitors. You need courage and lots of preparations beforehand (预先).
In the past, people mainly traveled by bus, train, or bicycle. But now there are more choices. When traveling across China, you can take high-speed rail, subways, or even planes. Air travel is more popular than before. Taking a bus in the countryside is becoming common. However, bus services in some tourist attractions (旅游景点) are not provided, so walking or taking a boat might be necessary.
The rise in travel shows more people want to visit new places and learn about different cultures. It shows travel is easier and cheaper for everyone in China. Recent data (数据) show that travel is not just a trend (趋势) but a big part of Chinese culture and economy.
