B My family first moved to Colorado 22 years ago. Los Angeles was too expensive and it was difficult to find well-paying jobs and affordable housing. Colorado became our next dream place. Settling into a small town in the Front Range, my parents found hard jobs. Growing up in this small town, I remember my parents working hard to get past the language barrier. My mom, especially, tried her best to ensure she knew all that she needed to know about like my parent-teacher meetings and extracurricular (课外的) activities. One of those extracurricular activities that I signed up for was football. At that age, football was cool and all, but I was more into playing Pokémon and other video games. Football didn’t draw me in. Big football tournaments (联赛) would come around like the World Cup, the Copa América and the Gold Cup, and the Mexican National Team would play in these tournaments. I would sit there in our living room and unmindfully watch the games while my parents would go crazy with enthusiasm ( 热情). I would sit there and play my game. My dad would look over and tell me that I should be paying attention carefully to the game and that I should care more about whether Mexico would win the match than my video games. Both of my parents’ workspaces were crowded (占满的) with other workers. My mom worked with people from all over Latin America. Everyone’s topic of choice at work would always turn to how their national football team was doing. It was a way to show pride in the countries where they had grown up. I grew up loving football more and more. The more I learned about my Mexican roots (根), the more I tried to find ways to express pride in them in the United States. 4. Why did the author’s family move to Colorado? A. To make a better life. B. To attend more activities. C. To follow their football dream. D. To receive a better education. 5. How did the author feel about football at first? A. It was amazing. B. It was important. C. It was uninteresting. D. It was difficult. 6. What would the author’s father do when watching football games? A. Remind the author to watch them carefully. B. Play video games with the author. C. Learn English in their living room. D. Guess who would be the winner. 7. The author’s mom and her workmates talked about football in order to _________. A. build a closer friendship B. express their homesickness C. share a common topic D. show their pride in their motherlands C If you’re someone who has been worrying about the rise of the robots—hold on there just a second, and let them help you impress your friends with some newfound skills in a foreign language. Using artificial intelligence (AI) to help us learn and improve those skills is not new—some of the online language tools we turn to every day are powered by AI. But as new technologies flood into the market, now is a great time to take advantage of the tech. And according to experts, these tools aren’t replacing teachers — they’re making their lives easier. One of the things that stops some of us from practising speaking in a new language is a lack of self-confidence. AI can help — chatbots don’t judge (评价) you. Of course, teachers don’t either, but for some people, communicating with a bot may remove that fear of failure or shyness. The latest chatbots use something called natural language processing that allows them to understand human speech or writing, providing a human-like response right away. While chatbots are extremely useful for learners working solely, teachers can also offer course material and ask an AI system to produce personalized textbooks for groups of students. The AI can also provide feedback (反馈) in seconds — gone are the days of waiting a week for work to be graded. Past online language tools and games were able to tell you when you were wrong, but they weren’t always able to explain why. Now, not only has that changed, but the explanations are detailed and immediate. But this is not to underestimate (低估) the role of the teachers, who can use the technology to help learn more about the strengths and weaknesses of their students and personalize their teaching. So, if you want to impress your friends with your perfect speech, don’t be afraid of AI. Just think of it as a useful tool for both teachers and language learners, which will give you more time and space to enjoy learning something new! 8. In which aspect does AI mainly help language learners according to Paragraph 2? A. Building their confidence. B. Improving time management. C. Remembering more words. D. Getting useful learning methods. 9. What is the influence of AI on teachers? A. Replacing their jobs. B. Making teaching easier. C. Increasing work pressure. D. Collecting more feedback. 10. What does the underlined word “solely” in Paragraph 3 mean? A. Happily. B. Quickly. C. Singly. D. Secretly. 11. What does the author think of the teachers’ roles in the age of AI? A. Teachers are still important. B. Teachers will give way to robots. C. Experienced teachers are more popular. D. Teachers are better than robots in language learning D If you’re planning to go on a diet, or if you suffer from serious conditions like diabetes (糖尿病), knowing exactly what and how much you’re eating is important. In this day and age, we have calorie and nutrition calculators even on our smartphones, but they act only as guides, whereas a famous company’s revolutionary new device, CaloRieco, actually analyzes the food on your plate and provides accurate (correct and true in every detail) information in just a few seconds. You’ve probably used caloric calculators before, and you know that they only offer general information. For example, a calculator will tell you the average number of calories in a hamburger, but it can’t tell you exactly how many calories are in the hamburger. The same goes for nutrients like protein or fat. And this is what makes the new CaloRieco so special. The spokesman for the company said that its outstanding invention is aimed at dieters and diabetes sufferers, both of whom make up a sizable market. Displayed at a recent tech show, CaloRieco is a high-tech device that uses light reflection technology to determine the nutritional values of almost any food and also provide accurate calorie estimates. All you have to do is put your plate in the box-shaped device and wait between 10 and 20 seconds for it to analyze all the food. Once it’s done analyzing the various ingredients (烹饪材料) in your meal, CaloRieco shows the number of calories, as well as the nutritional content on an LED display. According to the company the device is able to recognize the vast majority of foods, except soups and very dark dishes. CaloRieco can also connect to your smartphone via an app, and send all the data about analyzed foods to your handheld device, so you can access it whenever you need. Unfortunately, you’ll have to wait a bit longer to get your hands on your very own CaloRieco, as the device presented at the show is just a prototype (样机) which needs to be improved. It’s expected to be a hit in the next few years, but the price remains a mystery. 12. What is the advantage of CaloRieco? A. It uses light reflection technology. B. It offers general information of food. C. It is a high-tech device working as a guide. D. It can present the exact calorie of analyzed food. 13. According to the text, what is right about CaloRieco? A. It needs a long time to analyze the food. B. It can show the food data on the smartphone directly. C. It can count the calories of all foods on your plate. D. It may be popular among dieters and diabetes sufferers. 14. What does the underlined word “it” in paragraph 5 refer to? A. The smartphone. B. The app. C. The data. D. The food. 15. What can we infer about CaloRieco from the last paragraph? A. It’s hopeful. B. It’s perfect. C. It’s costly. D. It’s available. 第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 Recycling(回收利用) has become more and more important in our efforts to protect the environment. We were dreaming of far-off destinations, our minds filled with images of thrilling adventures. After school on Friday, on my way home, I ran into my best friend. Enthusiastic about the vacations, I asked him about his plans. His eyes twinkled brightly as he replied, “I’m going to visit my grandparents with my parents for a week.” “Don’t you ever get tired of going to the same place year after year? I remember, every year, your family takes 7 to 10 days off to head back to your native village,” I asked, raising an eyebrow in curiosity. “Oh, not at all! That’s the absolute best time of the year for me! Being with my folks in the village is just amazing.” His face beamed with joy as he continued, "In the village, I get to meet so many wonderful people, and everyone there is so kind and welcoming. Our neighborhood crew is tight! We’re always hanging out together, you know? Just running wild, chilling by the lake, or bouncing between each other’s houses. Honestly, I know what really matters about these village trips. It’s not the cool places we see — it’s spending time with the people I love. That’s the real treasure of life.” His words made me recall my own grandparents. I realized I hadn’t seen them for years. But still, it’s a pleasure to be there. … we had big long gardens and a big multi-story house. The next day, over breakfast, I mustered up the courage and asked my parents, “Can we visit grandparents this summer after exams?” Dad replied hesitantly, “Oh, that’s unexpected.” Mom was surprised. “Well, you know it gets really hot there this time of year.” After a short pause, Dad gave a small sigh and met my hopeful gaze. “However,” he said, “if you perform well in exams, we’ll make the trip.” For the next six weeks, I threw myself completely into my studies. My mom was amazed by this sudden transformation in me. Soon came the long-awaited exam results. 注意: (1)续写词数应为150左右; (2)请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 Paragraph 1: I rushed home and immediately handed my parents my score card and a note with “PLEASE.” ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Paragraph 2: I saw my mom had tears in her eyes when leaving them. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 贵州省毕节实验高级中学2025-2026学年秋季学期 高一年级第二次月考测评卷 英语 分值:150分 时间:120分钟 第一部分 听力(共两节,满分30分) 第一节(共5小题;每小题1.5分,满分7.5分) 听下面5段对话。每段对话后有一个小题,从题中所给的A、B、C三个选项中选出最佳选项,并标在试卷的相应位置。听完每段对话后,你都有10秒钟的时间来回答有关小题和阅读下一小题。每段对话仅读一遍。 1. Starting high school is a big change, and it’s totally normal to face small misunderstandings with new people, so don’t feel alone in this. Here are a few suggestions for you. First, try to talk to your classmate actively. Choose a quiet moment, like after class, and share your feelings calmly instead of blaming. Listening to their side is also important, which might help you see the conflict from a new angle. Second, put yourself in their shoes. Maybe they were stressed about studies or had a bad day, so their words weren’t meant to hurt you. I believe these steps will help you fix things. I’m looking forward to hearing that you two have become friends again soon! Best regards, Li Hua 参考范文2: Dear Jim, I understand how upset you must be about the conflict with your classmate. High school classrooms are full of people with different habits, so small conflicts sometimes happen — there’s no need to feel down. Let me share two tips with you. First, find common ground. If you both like sports or math, ask them to join you for a game or study together. Shared activities can quickly ease tension. Second, learn to be more tolerant. Everyone has their own way of doing things. Therefore, focusing on their strengths instead of small flaws will make your relationship smoother. I hope you’ll give these ideas a try. I’m sure you’ll soon build a good relationship with your classmate and enjoy your high school life more! Best regards, Li Hua 第二节(满分25分) 【47题答案】 【答案】One possible version: I rushed home and immediately handed my parents my score card and a note with “PLEASE.” This time, they instantly agreed. The next day, we set out for our hometown. Every one, be it relatives or neighbors, greeted us with smiles, treating me like their own son. Every day brought new happiness –- digging with Grandpa in the garden, playing games with cousins until sunset, roaming around familiar streets with loved ones and even joining the local kids in their football matches. The days passed as we had a wonderful time together. Truth be told, everything was more fun in a big family. When departure day came, my heart ached. I saw my mom had tears in her eyes when leaving them. She wiped them away and smiled saying, “I didn’t realize how much I missed the village until now. It’s not just a place; it’s where our roots are.” As we drove away, I felt a mix of excitement and nostalgia. I realized that the real adventure wasn’t about exploring far-off places but about reconnecting with family and our heritage. This trip wasn’t just for me; it was a reminder for all of us that family is the true treasure of life. From then on, visiting Grandma and Grandpa became our annual tradition, a time to cherish love, laughter, and the simple joys of being together. 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
