She was sorting old photos and childhood toys when her hand touched the cool wood, and the familiar shape brought a big smile. The guitar’s wooden body was grey, and its strings (弦) were broken, but it brought back a flood of warm old stories. When Lena was 7, her father often taught her to play the guitar by their lakeside house. One summer evening, he asked her to play Happy Birthday for her little brother Max. Max laughed and cheered even when she messed up notes. “Music makes every moment special,” Dad would say, smiling as Lena struggled with the music notes. Neighbors passed by to listen and sang along, while her dog Buddy moved his tail happily and touched her hand softly. That year, her father gave her the guitar as a New Year gift, telling her to record moments with the family by using music. Lena spent hours practicing every day under the big tree in the park near her home, her dog Buddy lying at her feet. Now, so many years later, Lena softly cleaned the guitar. She replaced the strings and tried to play the old song — her fingers hurt a little, but the song felt like a hug from the past. Though her fingers were not as quick as before and her voice was a bit shaky, the same happiness filled her heart. Looking in the mirror, she saw grey hair, but her eyes shone just like they did by the lake. “Some things never change,” Lena said softly, touching the guitar’s old neck. She missed her father, but the guitar made her feel close. The guitar looks old, but in her mind, she was still that 7-year-old girl, laughing under the sunset with her family. Age may make us look older, but the music in our hearts remains as young as ever. 4. What made Lena think of the old stories? A. Her dog Buddy. B. The discovered guitar. C. The lakeside house. D. The old photos. 5. Why did Lena’s father teach her to play the guitar? A. To gift her on New Year. B. To value family time. C. To spread music to neighbors. D. To celebrate Max’s birthday. 6. How did Lena feel when playing the old song years later? A. Sad. B. Proud. C. Regretful. D. Joyful. 7. What does the text want to tell us? A. Old things need care. B. Practice makes perfect. C. Music keeps us young at heart. D. Music comes from daily life. 4. B 5. B 6. D 7. But new research has suggested many parents may not even notice many of the lies their children tell them. Psychologists have discovered that most parents are over-confident in their children's honesty and this may impair their ability to discover a lie. The findings may help to explain why some parents seem to be willing to let their children get away with(未受惩罚) almost anything even in the face of the evidence. They say parents suffer from a“truth bias(偏见)” with their own youngsters, but when faced with lies from other people's children, they have less difficulty telling if a statement is true or not. Dr Angela Evans, a psychologist at Brock University in Canada, said,“The close relationship that parents share with their own children may lead to parents failing to detect their children's lies. Parents' truth bias may result in parents being less doubtful about their children, allowing them to successfully cheat them.”Most children are thought to start lying as early as two years old but start telling more believable lies at around the age of four years old. Learning how to lie is considered as a key part of cognitive(认知的) and social development in children. But many parents are shocked when their children start lying to them. In their study, Dr Evans and her colleagues filmed 108 children aged between 8 and 16 as they performed a test after being asked not to look at the answers. They were then asked afterwards if they had looked, with 50 truthfully denying looking, 49 lying about looking and 9 admitting to looking. Videos of those denying looking were then shown to 152 parents of children aged 8 to 16, 80 of whom had children who had taken part in the test. The researchers found that the parents were less able to spot lies told by their own children than by other people's children. 8. What does the underlined word“impair”in Paragraph 2 mean? A show B. develop C. damage D. recognize 9. When lying to their parents, children can't be easily found because ________. A. their parents pretend not to see the lies B. their parents aren't prepared for the lies C. they are very good at hiding their lies D. they know how to lie to their parents 10. What does Dr Evans want to find about children's lying? A. What makes parents lose trust in their children B. What causes children to tell lies to their parents C. What makes parents fail to see their children's lies D. What affects children's relations with their parents 11. What can be inferred from Dr Evans's study in the last two paragraphs? A. Parents tend to protect their own children B. Lying is a part of children's development C. Children aged 8 to 16 are very likely to tell lies D. Parents can judge lies told by children of others more easily 【答案】8. C 9. B 10. C 11. 根据第一段“But new research has suggested many parents may not even notice many of the lies their children tell them.(但新的研究表明,许多父母甚至可能没有注意到他们的孩子对他们说的许多谎言)” 以及这个单词的上半句“Psychologists have discovered that most parents are over-confident in their children's honesty(心理学家发现,大多数父母对孩子的诚实过于自信)”由此可知父母可能会忽视自己的孩子说谎,由此推断“this may impair their ability to discover a lie. ”意为这可能会破坏或者削弱父母发现孩子说谎的能力,故猜测impair意为“削弱,破坏”, A. show展示;B. develop开发;C. damage损坏;D. recognize认出,故选C。 【9题详解】 推理判断题。根据第二段“Psychologists have discovered that most parents are over-confident in their children's honesty and this may impair their ability to discover a lie. The findings may help to explain why some parents seem to be willing to let their children get away with(未受惩罚) almost anything even in the face of the evidence.(心理学家发现,大多数父母对孩子的诚实过于自信,这可能会削弱他们发现谎言的能力。这些发现可能有助于解释为什么一些父母似乎愿意让他们的孩子侥幸逃脱,即使面对证据。)”和第四段“The close relationship that parents share with their own children may lead to parents failing to detect their children's lies. (父母与孩子之间的亲密关系可能会导致父母无法察觉孩子的谎言)”等内容可知父母对孩子过于自信,不愿意接受孩子说谎的事实,父母和孩子关系亲密,一般无法察觉孩子的谎言,即他们对孩子说谎的事实没有做好心理准备。故选B。 【10题详解】 推理判断题。根据第四段“Dr Angela Evans, a psychologist at Brock University in Canada, said, “The close relationship that parents share with their own children may lead to parents failing to detect their children's lies. Parents' truth bias may result in parents being less doubtful about their children, allowing them to successfully cheat them.”( 加拿大布鲁克大学的心理学家安吉拉·埃文斯博士说:“父母与孩子之间的亲密关系可能会导致父母无法察觉孩子的谎言。父母的真相偏见可能会导致父母减少对孩子的怀疑,从而让他们成功地欺骗孩子。”)”可知,他想要发现父母不能成功识别孩子谎言的原因,故选C。 【11题详解】 推理判断题。根据最后一段“Videos of those denying looking were then shown to 152 parents of children aged 8 to 16, 80 of whom had children who had taken part in the test. The researchers found that the parents were less able to spot lies told by their own children than by other people's children.(随后,研究人员将那些否认自己偷看的孩子的视频展示给152名8岁至16岁孩子的父母看,其中的80人的孩子也参加了测试。研究人员发现,父母辨别自己孩子的谎言的能力不如辨别别人孩子的谎言的能力)”可推断,父母判断别人的孩子说谎比判断自己孩子说谎更容易,故选D。 D To battle the plagiarism (抄袭), some schools in America have responded to ChatGPT by taking action, according to the New York Times. New York City public schools, for example, recently prevented ChatGPT access on school computers and networks, saying “concerns about negative influence on students learning, and concerns about the safety of content.” Schools in other cities, including Seattle, have also limited its use. A US’ online course provider Study. com recently asked 1, 000 students over the age of 18 about the use of ChatGPT in the classroom. The responses were surprising. Around 89 percent said they’ve used it on homework. Over 50 percent said they used ChatGPT to write an essay, while 22 percent admitted to having asked ChatGPT for a paper outline. While the chatbot (聊天机器人) is raising fears of academic cheating on schools, some educators believe introducing the Al-ended tools to the academics could even overturn the traditional education. “For researchers, finding valuable scientific problems and solving them in creative ways come first, and then writing academic papers. Some AI-enabled writing tools can create words or even write long text based on a few keywords shortly,” said Zhu Wei, a law professor in China. For example, ChatGPT helps writers gather writing materials for their papers, which not only increases the efficiency of the work, but also allows researchers to devote more energy to more creative work. “Whether to use ChatGPT depends on whether to use it correctly. For those students who just use it to deal with homework or exams,” Zhu said, “this is putting the cart before the horse, which should be limited.” To avoid this problem, Zhu suggested introducing soft wares to help educators. He believes schools should accept ChatGPT as a teaching aid to unlock creativity in students. “The most important part of such tools is not to replace human thinking, but to improve human thinking.” Zhu said. 12. How does the author describe the results of Study. com’s research in Paragraph 3? A. By listing figures. B. By conducting tests. C. By giving examples. D. By referring to other studies. 13. D. AI-ended tools help writers collect writing materials. 14. What is the author’s attitude towards the usage of ChatGPT? A. Disagreeable. B. Favorable. C. Objective. D. Unconcerned. 15. What may the author talk about in the following paragraph? A. Showing how software is applied in schools. B. Giving examples of how students use ChatGPT. C. Listing advantages of using AI-ended tools properly in schools. D. Introducing ways to use ChatGPT to improve students’ creativity. A 13. A 14. C 15. 根据第三段中“A US’ online course provider Study. com recently asked 1,000 students over the age of 18 about the use of ChatGPT in the classroom. (美国在线课程提供商Study.com最近询问了1000名年龄在18岁以上的学生关于在课堂上使用ChatGPT的情况)”以及“Around 89 percent said they’ve used it on homework. Over 50 percent said they used ChatGPT to write an essay, while 22 percent admitted to having asked ChatGPT for a paper outline.(大约89%的学生表示他们在做作业时使用过ChatGPT。超过50%的学生表示他们使用ChatGPT来写作文,而22%的学生承认曾向ChatGPT寻求论文提纲)”可推知,本段主要通过列举数字的方式来阐述调研结果。故选A。 根据第五段中“Some AI-enabled writing tools can create words or even write long text based on a few keywords shortly,(一些支持人工智能的写作工具可以根据几个关键词创建单词,甚至写出长文本)”以及“For example, ChatGPT helps writers gather writing materials for their papers, which not only increases the efficiency of the work, but also allows researchers to devote more energy to more creative work.(例如,ChatGPT可以帮助作者收集论文的写作材料,这不仅提高了工作效率,而且可以让研究人员将更多的精力投入到更有创造性的工作中)”可知,该段提到AI-enabled写作工具可以帮助作家收集写作材料,提高工作效率,使研究人员能够将更多精力投入到更有创造力的工作中。 故选A。 根据倒数第二段中“For example, ChatGPT helps writers gather writing materials for their papers, which not only increases the efficiency of the work, but also allows researchers to devote more energy to more creative work.(例如,ChatGPT可以帮助作者收集论文的写作材料,这不仅提高了工作效率,而且可以让研究人员将更多的精力投入到更有创造性的工作中)”以及最后一段中“To avoid this problem, Zhu suggested introducing soft wares to help educators. (为了避免这个问题,朱建议引入软件来帮助教育工作者)”可知,对于ChatGPT的使用作者描述了朱教授的观点,即该软件能提高工作效率,同时也需要引用其他软件来避免使用该软件作弊等相关的问题。由此推知,作者对ChatGPT的态度是客观的。故选C。 【15题详解】 推理判断题。根据最后一段中“He believes schools should accept ChatGPT as a teaching aid to unlock creativity in students. “The most important part of such tools is not to replace human thinking, but to improve human thinking.” How to Welcome Change in Your Life Do you embrace (欣然接受) the road you are now on or resist and avoid change at all costs when a recent event has shaken you greatly? ____16____ Don’t react. With a heart full of dreams and a little bit of nervousness, he flew to the United Kingdom to start a new adventure. He had always imagined what it would be like to walk through the historic streets of England and meet people from different parts of the world. But as soon as he arrived at his new school, he felt a little unsure. In his new class, Li Ming struggled to start conversations with his British classmates. They spoke so quickly and used words and phrases he didn’t understand. When he tried to join their conversations, he felt shy about his accent and worried that he might say something wrong. He also noticed that British students seemed to value their personal space more than he was used to, which made it even harder for him to find the right moment to start a meaningful talk. Group work was even harder. During a group project in literature class, Li Ming had trouble explaining his ideas clearly, feeling like his ideas were getting lost in translation. And he started to doubt himself. Social events outside of class were just as difficult. At a school party, Li Ming watched his classmates laugh, dance, and sing along to the latest pop songs. He felt left out, not knowing the songs or the dance moves. He wanted to join the fun, but the fear of looking silly kept him on the sidelines. One day, the school announced a talent show. Li Ming, who practiced traditional Chinese kung fu, really wanted to try. While he was hesitating, a group of British students interested in cultural performances invited him to join them. Li Ming agreed. Para 1: During their practice, the group was amazed by Li Ming’s Chinese kung fu. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Para 2: After the show, Li Ming noticed some changes happening. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】Para 1: During their practice, the group was amazed by Li Ming’s Chinese kung fu. They kept cheering loudly as he performed punches, kicks and graceful stances. They asked him to teach them basic moves, and Li Ming patiently demonstrated step by step, using simple English to explain each action’s meaning. When he struggled to express himself clearly, his new friends listened carefully and helped him find the right words. For the first time, Li Ming forgot his shyness and accent, feeling proud to share his culture. Practice became a joyful time where they learned from each other. Para 2: After the show, Li Ming noticed some changes happening. Many classmates came up to him, praising his wonderful performance and asking about Chinese kung fu. Some even invited him to join their conversations and hang out after school. During group work, he dared to speak up confidently, and his ideas were well-received. He no longer felt left out; instead, he found a sense of belonging. Li Ming realized that his unique culture was a bridge to connect with others, and courage and sharing could help him fit in easily. 2. 续写线索:组员被李明功夫惊艳——组员请教、李明耐心教学——遇语言困难时组员帮忙——李明克服羞涩、收获自信——才艺秀结束后同学称赞、主动结交——小组合作中大胆表达——李明找到归属感、领悟文化的意义 3 词汇激活 行为类 ①展示:demonstrate/show ②欢呼:cheer/shout with joy ③称赞:praise/commend ④融入:fit in/adapt to ⑤联结:connect/link 情感类 ①自豪的:proud/fulfilling ②自信地:confidently/with confidence 【点睛】[高分句型1]When he struggled to express himself clearly, his new friends listened carefully and helped him find the right words.(运用了when引导时间状语从句) [高分句型2]Li Ming realized that his unique culture was a bridge to connect with others, and courage and sharing could help him fit in easily.(运用了that引导宾语从句) 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 永宁县2025-2026学年第一学期期末高中学业水平 质量监测卷(高二英语) 时间:120分钟 分值:150分 第一部分 听力(共两节,满分30分) 第一节(共5小题;每小题1.5分,满分7.5分) 听下面5段对话。 1. B Lena, a 62-year-old woman living in a quiet Canadian town, found an old guitar in the attic (阁楼) last week. C When parents discover their children have lied to them for the first time, it can often come as a shock to find their little treasures are capable of such a trick. A. show B. develop C. damage D. recognize 9. When lying to their parents, children can't be easily found because ________. A. their parents pretend not to see the lies B. their parents aren't prepared for the lies C. they are very good at hiding their lies D. they know how to lie to their parents 10 What does Dr Evans want to find about children's lying? Parents can judge lies told by children of others more easily D To battle the plagiarism (抄袭) some schools in America have responded to ChatGPT by taking action, according to the New York Times. 12. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
