Released nationwide on July 1, 1921 tightly narrates a historical event, where the Communist Party of China held its first National Congress in Shanghai and Jiaxing, Zhejiang province, in the summer of 1921. As an attempt to seek a breakthrough, the patriotic (爱国的) tale creatively uses several different perspectives (视角) to retell the historical moments of CPC’s first national congress. Shanhe Suiyue. The 100-episode documentary Shanhe Suiyue serves as a reminder of the sacrifices and struggles of the Chinese people on the revolutionary path to glory. With a total length of more than 41 hours, it is the largest documentary production on the Chinese revolution, which selects 100 key scenes, highlight moments and typical characters, narrating 100 vivid stories. The Age of Awakening. The 43-episode TV series The Age of Awakening narrates how Chinese intellectuals (知识分子) and young people in the early 1900s, including key CPC founders Chen Duxiu and Li Dazhao, tried hard to save a nation with corruption, foreign aggression, and other problems, to form a communist party against all odds. The Battle at Lake Changjin. Set during the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea (1950-1953), the film centers on a heroic company of the Chinese People’s Volunteers (CPV) army. By Nov 24, its overall box office has reached 5.69 billion yuan, replacing Wolf Warrior 2 at the top of China’s all-time box office charts. 1. What can audiences see in 1921? A. CPC’s first national congress. B. People’s struggle in the early 1900s. C. The same perspective of historical moments. D. The national Congress held only in Shanghai. 2. What is special about Shanhe Suiyue? A It shows how communist party was formed. B. It selects 100 stories of Chinese intellectuals. C. It has 43-episode series and a length of 41 hours. D. It is the largest documentary on the Chinese revolution. 3. Which production wins the champion of box office? A. Shanhe Suiyue. B. The Age of Awakening. C. Wolf Warrior 2. D. The Battle at Lake Changjin. A 2. D 3. 根据1921部分的“As an attempt to seek a breakthrough, the patriotic (爱国的) tale creatively uses several different perspectives (视角) to retell the historical moments of CPC’s first national congress.(作为一种突破,这个爱国主义故事创造性地从几个不同的角度重述了中国共产党第一次全国代表大会的历史时刻。)” 故选A。 根据Shanhe Suiyue部分的“With a total length of more than 41 hours, it is the largest documentary production on the Chinese revolution, which selects 100 key scenes, highlight moments and typical characters, narrating 100 vivid stories.(总时长超过41个小时,是中国革命历史上规模最大的纪录片,选取了100个关键场景、亮点时刻和典型人物,讲述了100个生动的故事。)” The Battle at Lake Changjin 部分的“By Nov 24, its overall box office has reached 5.69 billion yuan, replacing Wolf Warrior 2 at the top of China’s all-time box office charts.(截至11月24日,《长津湖》的总票房已达56.9亿元,取代《战狼2》成为中国历史票房榜首。)” D。 B My wife always wanted a Vizsla, so when we got the house, the garden and everything sorted, we did some research and found a lovely breeder (饲养员) based in Scotland. He was in charge of everything, so a few months go by and the next thing I know, we’ve got a puppy! I’ve grown up with animals all my life, and I’m so glad I have. I love the fact that I was never afraid of any animals. Although you do obviously have to be careful when introducing children to a dog they don’t know, because you don’t know how it’s going to behave, it always saddens me when I see children scared when they walk past Pedro. I think it’s great for kids to learn how to look after an animal. And obviously for us, as a family, it’s brilliant because we take Pedro for so many walks. It’s a bit of a family bonding experience getting out in the fresh air; taking Pedro for a walk multiple times a day is just really lovely. Meanwhile, the most rewarding, I think, is just seeing how amazing he is with the kids. He is so calm, so protective, so loving, and we are his world. I think the most challenging aspects with Pedro were when he was a puppy (小狗). He was pretty hard work. He was never aggressive, but he was quite bitey as puppies are, constantly pulling out your clothes and putting holes in them, which is very annoying. He chewed the furniture-my sofas are barely standing up; their wooden legs are almost in pieces. Obviously, the dog training in the house was quite stressful and his jumping at strangers in the park and running off was always quite scary. As a new puppy owner, you’re overloaded with advice from social media, magazines, other dog owners and friends, so finding a source of information you trust is so important and can be a real turning point. I know what it’s like to be bombarded with conflicting information, so I would have really welcomed Royal Canin’s “One in a Billion” platform as a new puppy owner. It’s a one-stop shop for new dog owners: a single source of credible information that is so helpful in navigating the early stages of your puppy’s life. 4. What do we know about the author? A. He is inexperienced in raising pets. B. He is unsupportive of his wife’s desire. C. He feels it a pity that children shy away from pets. D. He thinks one should be cautious about raising pets. 5. What does the author think of Pedro? A. Dangerous but loyal. B. Playful and gentle. C. Adorable but troublesome. D. Annoying and fierce. 6. What can we infer according to paragraph 4? A. Dogs are man’s best friends. B. It is worthless to have a dog. C. Puppies are unfriendly to humans. D. It is challenging to train a puppy. 7. What is the purpose of the last paragraph? A. To recommend a reliable platform. B. To share a fun experience. C. To offer evidence for an argument. D. To advertise a practical product. C 5. C 6. D 7. 由文章第二段中“Although you do obviously have to be careful when introducing children to a dog they don’t know, because you don’t know how it’s going to behave, it always saddens me when I see children scared when they walk past Pedro. I think it’s great for kids to learn how to look after an animal. (虽然当你把孩子介绍给他们不认识的狗时,显然必须小心,因为你不知道它会怎么表现,但当我看到孩子们走过佩德罗时害怕的时候,我总是很难过。我认为让孩子们学习如何照顾动物是很好的。)”可知,作者对于孩子们因不了解而害怕宠物感到遗憾。故选C。 【5题详解】 推理判断题。由文章第三段中“Meanwhile, the most rewarding, I think, is just seeing how amazing he is with the kids. He is so calm, so protective, so loving, and we are his world. (与此同时,我认为最有意义的是,看到他和孩子们相处得有多好。他很冷静,很有保护欲,很有爱心,我们就是他的世界。)”和第四段中“He was never aggressive, but he was quite bitey as puppies are, constantly pulling out your clothes and putting holes in them, which is very annoying. He chewed the furniture-my sofas are barely standing up; their wooden legs are almost in pieces. Obviously, the dog training in the house was quite stressful and his jumping at strangers in the park and running off was always quite scary. (他从来没有攻击性,但他像小狗一样爱咬,经常把你的衣服扯出来,在上面咬出洞,这很烦人。他咬家具——我的沙发几乎立不住;木腿几乎都碎了。显然,在家里训练狗的压力很大,在公园里它对着陌生人跳来跳去然后跑开,总是让人很害怕。)”可知,作者认为Pedro可爱但麻烦。故选C。 【6题详解】 推理判断题。由文章第四段“I think the most challenging aspects with Pedro were when he was a puppy (小狗). 由文章最后一段“As a new puppy owner, you’re overloaded with advice from social media, magazines, other dog owners and friends, so finding a source of information you trust is so important and can be a real turning point. A。 C We have more ways to access music than at any time in history and a whole world of unfamiliar styles to explore. The thrill of discovering new songs and new sounds can enrich people of all ages. Except, most of the time, it doesn’t. Our willingness to explore new, unfamiliar music declines with age. Academics have coined the term “open-earedness” to describe this phenomenon. Until around the age of 11, children are generally happy to engage with unfamiliar music. Early adolescence sees a reduction in open-earedness, but is accompanied by an intense increase in interest in music more generally. Open-earedness increases slightly during young adulthood, and then declines as we age. A major study involving more than 250,000 participants confirmed these changing behaviors. It also showed that the significance we give to music after adolescence declines, and the amount of music we listen to reduces from a high point of 20% of our waking time during adolescence, to 13% in adulthood. Researchers have different theories to account for these trends. One explanation for age-based reduction in music consumption simply assumes that responsibility-burdened adults may have less free time at their disposal (自由支配) to explore their musical interests than younger people. Some interpret the observed decline in music engagement in terms of psychosocial maturation. Adolescents use music as an identity marker and engage with it to navigate social circles. Adults have developed personalities and established social groups. As such, drivers to engage with new music are lessened. Some researchers argue that we shouldn’t use a person’s age to predict if their musical taste will stay the same, without first thinking about how we enjoy and use music at different stages of our lives. Teenagers tend to be very aware of what they are listening to. Adults who use music as motivation or accompaniment for activities such as exercise or household chores may be less conscious of the extent to which they actually do listen to new music. 8. What does the term “open-earedness” refer to in the passage? A. The ability to play music. B. The willingness to explore new music. C. The interest in music during adolescence. D. The significance of music in daily life. 9. According to the study how does the amount of music listened to change as we age? A. It remains consistent throughout life. B. It increases from childhood to adulthood. C. It peaks during adolescence and then decreases. D. It gradually declines from childhood to adulthood. 10. What factor is suggested as one cause for a reduced interest in new music as people age? A. An increase in hearing sharpness. B. Less spare time due to responsibilities. C. An intense decrease in interest in music. D. Changes in personality and social groups. 11. Which of the following is the best title for the passage? A. Music Consumption: A Lifelong Journey. B. Factors Influencing Music Engagement in Adults. C. Adolescents and Music: Identity and Exploration. D. Decline of Open-Earedness: Age Affects Music Exploration. B 9. C 10. B 11. 根据第一段“Our willingness to explore new, unfamiliar music declines with age.(我们探索新的、不熟悉的音乐的意愿随着年龄的增长而下降。)”和第二段“Academics have coined the term “open-earedness” to describe this phenomenon.(学者们创造了“open-earedness”一词来描述这种现象。)” 根据第三段“It also showed that the significance we give to music after adolescence declines, and the amount of music we listen to reduces from a high point of 20% of our waking time during adolescence, to 13% in adulthood.(研究还表明,我们在青春期之后对音乐的重视程度会下降,我们听音乐的数量也会从青春期时占清醒时间的20%的高点下降到成年后的13%。)” 根据第四段“One explanation for age-based reduction in music consumption simply assumes that responsibility-burdened adults may have less free time at their disposal (自由支配) to explore their musical interests than younger people.(一种对基于年龄的音乐消费量减少的解释简单地假设,承担责任的成年人可能比年轻人有更少的自由时间来探索他们的音乐兴趣。)” 根据第一段“Our willingness to explore new, unfamiliar music declines with age.(我们探索新的、不熟悉的音乐的意愿随着年龄的增长而下降。)” Academics have coined the term “open-earedness” to describe this phenomenon.(学者们创造了“open-earedness”一词来描述这种现象。)” Decline of Open-Earedness: Age Affects Music Exploration(open-earedness的下降:年龄影响音乐探索)适合做本文最佳标题。故选D。 D There are functioning steam railways in other countries: tourists in France can go for a ride in Brittany; so can visitors travelling to the Dandenong Ranges in Australia. But no other country has a heritage railway sector anywhere near as energetic as the UK’s, where more than 170 services cross around 600 miles of track and call at 460 stations. Just a few years after the first of these railways opened at Talyllyn in north Wales, in1951, a fictional Welsh steam engine became the main character in the children’s television serial Ivor the Engine. On lines originally built for slate quarries (石板采石场), north Wales still has the biggest group of steam railways, but they exist in all four nations of the UK, typically operating seasonal timetables in tourist areas. These railways are living museums with stations decorated in period style. Some staff wear costumes too. Up to 95% of the 18. 5m journeys on heritage railways each year are taken by domestic tourists. They owe their popularity to a combination of nostalgia (怀旧), enjoyment of the countryside and enthusiasm for the old engines. Railways are expensive to run, and the first steam preservation enthusiasts recognised that they would need volunteers to make their dream of a revival come true. This reliance on volunteers is partly due to cuts in budgets from local authorities and other funders. But heritage railways are a good example of what can be achieved by a combined paid and voluntary workforce. As well as the economic contribution that the railways make to rural areas, there is evidence that volunteering can have beneficial effects on people as well. The railways will need to respond, like the rest of the society, to environmental policies. The destructive impact of greenhouse gases is an obvious challenge to a sector that trades on an image of coal-powered transport. Electric railway engines are being used for maintenance, to bring emissions down, and some railways are active in wildlife conservation. There will need to be further adaptation down the line. That the railways don’t stand still has always been part of their appeal especially on rainy days in the summer holidays. 12. How are the UK’s steam railways different from other countries'? A. They are active across the countries. B. They serve as tourist attractions. C. They are mainly powered by steam. D. They use small amounts of energy. 13. Why does the author mention Ivor the Engine? A. To spread knowledge of the classic serial. B. To introduce the origin of steam engines. C. To show the popularity of steam railways. D. To share a childhood memory of travelling. 14. What can we infer from paragraph 4? A. Volunteers help to keep heritage railways alive. B. Economic growth depends on individual efforts. C. People can’t afford to travel by heritage railway. D. Local officials don’t use old means of transport. 15. What is the author’s attitude towards heritage railways? A. Indifferent. B. Doubtful. C. Appreciative. D. Negative. A 13. C 14. A 15. 根据文章第一段“But no other country has a heritage railway sector anywhere near as energetic as the UK’s, where more than 170 services cross around 600 miles of track and call at 460 stations.(但没有一个国家的遗产铁路业能与英国相提并论,英国拥有超过170项服务,跨越约600英里的轨道,途经460个车站)”可知,英国的蒸汽铁路在全国都很活跃。故选A。 根据文章第二段“Just a few years after the first of these railways opened at Talyllyn in north Wales, in1951, a fictional Welsh steam engine became the main character in the children’s television serial Ivor the Engine. On lines originally built for slate quarries (石板采石场), north Wales still has the biggest group of steam railways(1951年,威尔士北部塔尔利林的第一条此类铁路开通后仅几年,一部以虚构的威尔士蒸汽机车为主角的儿童电视连续剧《Ivor the Engine》便问世了。 根据文章第四段“Railways are expensive to run, and the first steam preservation enthusiasts recognised that they would need volunteers to make their dream of a revival come true. This reliance on volunteers is partly due to cuts in budgets from local authorities and other funders.(铁路运营成本高昂,而早期的蒸汽机车保护爱好者们认识到,要实现复兴的梦想,他们需要志愿者。 故选A。 根据文章第二段“These railways are living museums with stations decorated in period style.(这些铁路是活生生的博物馆,车站装饰着时代风格)”和文章最后一段“Electric railway engines are being used for maintenance, to bring emissions down, and some railways are active in wildlife conservation. There will need to be further adaptation down the line.(电动铁路机车正被用于维护工作以减少排放,一些铁路公司也在积极参与野生动物保护。 Many students want to learn a foreign language well, but what must they do? We must be able to make sentences that are grammatically correct. E. We must study how we have to do to learn a foreign language. F. But it is not enough only to memorize rules from a grammar book. G. We must practise speaking and writing the language whenever we can. C 17. D 18. F 19. A 20. 【16题详解】 由空前的内容“In my opinion, in order to know a foreign language thoroughly, four things are necessary.(依我来看,为了彻底地懂得一门外语,四件事是必要的)”可以推测本句应该引入学习外语的基本步骤。 C选项“Firstly, we must understand the language when we hear it spoken.(首先,我们必须在听的时候理解语言)”符合引入学习外语步骤的逻辑。故选C。 【17题详解】 由空前的内容“Thirdly, we must be able to read the language, and fourthly, we must be able to write it. 【18题详解】 空前的内容“There is no easy way to success in language learning. A good memory is a great help.(语言学习没有捷径可走。 F选项“But it is not enough only to memorize rules from a grammar book.(但仅仅背诵语法书上的规则是不够的)”与下文形成转折关系,并且承接了上文对记忆的描述。故选F。 【19题详解】 由空后的“If we are satisfied with only a few rules we have memorized, we are not really learning the language.(如果我们满足于仅仅记住了几条规则,我们就没有真正学会这门语言)”可知,段首句统领整段,应与学习规则相关。A选项“We must learn by using the language.(我们必须通过使用语言来学习)”符合语境。故选A。 G选项“We must practise speaking and writing the language whenever we can.(我们必须在任何可能的情况下练习说和写语言)”直接呼应强调实践的重要性,符合语境。 Each family has a treasure trove (宝藏) of recipes. With the drama festival approaching, the school’s drama club had released a notice for the dancer audition (试镜) for The Twelve Dancing Princesses. And of course I was the first one to sign up. As I left the stage after my audition at school, I could feel it. The power. The future. I knew that someday when dancers’ magazines wrote about me, they would say this moment was when my rise to a star began. My ballet slippers hurt my feet, but I figured that was helpful. In The Twelve Dancing Princesses, the princesses danced all night so they probably had foot pain, too. My performance was more genuine because of my pain. I needed to show my devotion even when I wasn’t on stage, so I approached Mr. Ellison, the drama club advisor. He told me that casting (角色分配) will be posted tomorrow.“ Thank you, sir,” I said, using the almost British pronunciation of Hollywood stars in the 1940s. I was so sure that Mr. Ellison would cast me as a princess. The next morning, I went to read the cast list. The twelve princesses were first, by number. I scanned from One to Twelve, but none by me. At the bottom of the casting list, my name finally appeared. My role was a really small one, an old woman who helped a soldier, not one of the princesses! I was desperately disappointed. Mr. Ellison must have made a mistake! No one else in the school had my skills or preparation!. I found him in his classroom, but he insisted there was no mistake and emphasized that every role in a play was important. Unable to accept the fact, I burst into tears. Mr. Ellison managed to calm me down and encouraged me to have a try in the rehearsal (排练). The next day, I dragged myself to the rehearsal. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Finally, the great day arrived and “the old woman” couldn’t wait to get on stage. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】The next day, I dragged myself to the rehearsal, still feeling disheartened. As we began, I watched the princesses dance gracefully, a twinge of jealousy stirring within me. But then, as I started to act out my role, something shifted. Mr. Ellison’s words echoed in my mind, “Every role is important.” Gradually, I immersed myself in the character of the old woman. My lines flowed naturally, and I found a newfound respect for my role. To my surprise, my performance drew applause from my peers. This small role, I realized, could be a powerful one. Finally, the great day arrived, and “the old woman” couldn’t wait to get on stage. As the curtains opened, a rush of excitement filled me. I delivered my lines with conviction, feeling more alive on stage than I had ever been. The audience laughed at my humorous lines, and I felt a sense of accomplishment. When the final curtain fell, the applause was deafening. Mr. Ellison’s words had been right — every role was important. I had found my place in the spotlight, not as a princess, but as an old woman who helped a soldier. And it was enough. 词汇激活 行为类 ①改变:shift/change ②投入:immerse/engage in ③发现:find/discover 情绪类 ①失望的:disheartened/disappointed ②嫉妒的:jealous/envious ③令我惊讶的是:to my surprise/to my amazement 【点睛】[高分句型1] As we began, I watched the princesses dance gracefully, a twinge of jealousy stirring within me. A. It shows how communist party was formed. B My wife always wanted a Vizsla, so when we got the house, the garden and everything sorted, we did some research and found a lovely breeder (饲养员) based in Scotland. 4 What do we know about the author? D It is challenging to train a puppy. 7. What is the purpose of the last paragraph? A. To recommend a reliable platform. B. To share a fun experience. C To offer evidence for an argument. D. To advertise a practical product. C We have more ways to access music than at any time in history and a whole world of unfamiliar styles to explore. 9. According to the study, how does the amount of music listened to change as we age? D There are functioning steam railways in other countries: tourists in France can go for a ride in Brittany; so can visitors travelling to the Dandenong Ranges in Australia. A. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
