Though the boys’ parents did not go with them, they helped prepare for the trip before they set off, like checking their bikes, getting the trip things ready, and helping make a detailed route (详细路线) plan for them. Can you believe high school students built a REAL rocket? Not a toy, a rocket that flew over 10,000 metres! Meet Wang Yuning, the teen who made it happen.
Wang Yuning showed interest in space from an early age. When he was very young, he watched the Shenzhou IX launch. And it made him excited about rockets. After that, he borrowed every space book he could find at the library. In high school, with help from teachers, he started a space club to share his interests with others. “We drew rockets on paper and dreamed of making a real one,” Wang said.
His dream started to take shape in June 2024. Wang became the chief designer of the “Feiyan-1” sounding rocket. Teens from Shenzhen, Beijing and other cities worked together on it. First, they went to a space science centre in Beijing to learn how rockets work. Then, they returned to their schools and used their free time to work on the rocket. Just like real rocket scientists, they designed, tested, made rocket parts, put them together, and checked everything carefully.
On May 27, 2025, their hard work paid off. Each of them stood in Lenghu, Qinghai and held their breath. When they saw the “Feiyan-1” rocket successfully lift off, they cheered loudly! The rocket reached 10,555.7 metres high! It had four main parts, and it collected some important weather information. “Seeing it fly is the happiest moment I’ve ever experienced,” Wang said, smiling from ear to ear.
Wang and his friends show us that if we love something we can make great things happen. Dreams don’t care how old we are-they just need our heart and hard work. So go ahead! We can reach for the stars!

C. A student who only collected weather data. D. The leader of the space science centre.
64. What did the team do first to build the rocket?
A. They put rocket parts together.
B. They tested the rocket design.
C They learned how rockets work at a space science centre.
D. They started a space club in their school.
65. Which is TRUE according to the passage?
A. Wang Yuning and his team finished the rocket project in a short time.

D. The rocket’s main purpose was to study space stars.

Do your parents understand you? Maybe you want to stay up late finishing a fun game or talking with classmates, but they say, “Bedtime!” Maybe you love loud music, but they shout, “Turn it down!” Sometimes their worries seem small to you, and your hobbies feel confusing (难以理解的) to them.
Here is the reason. Your parents grew up in a different time with different rules. Many of their habits come from their own experiences. Maybe they worry about things you don’t even notice, like your sleep quality or hearing health. That’s why they can’t fully understand you sometimes. But there are simple ways to build a bridge between you and them.
First, try to put yourself in their shoes. Maybe when your parents were children, their parents were very strict with them. They might think being strict is the best way to love you. Even if you feel it’s not fair (公平的), they’re just giving you the care.
Listen carefully when your parents talk. Don’t just wait to speak; find out how they really feel. If they tell you to dress warmly, it’s not to nag (唠叨)—they just don’t want you to catch a cold. You can learn what is important to them. Then you can have a good talk with them.
Also, read books and watch films about families. In these stories, you’ll see how other kids solve small problems with their parents. You might pick up new ideas to compromise with your parents.
Sharing your thoughts (想法) clearly can also help. Tell your parents why you think that way—for example, why staying up 15 minutes late is important to you. Speak calmly, don’t shout. If you still don’t agree, that’s OK. Differences don’t have to break your bond (情感纽带); you can agree to disagree and still love each other.
Most of all, remember this: your parents just want to protect you. Sometimes, they make rules but don’t tell you the reasons. They think it’s “for your own good”, but they don’t know how to explain it well. It’s not because they don’t care about you—it’s because they love you more than you may realize.
66. Why can’t parents understand kids sometimes?
A. They don’t care about kids’ hobbies.
B. They want to make kids feel unfair.
C. They refuse to listen to kids’ ideas.
D. They grew up in a different time with different rules.
67. “Put yourself in their shoes” in paragraph 3 means ________
A. wear parents’ shoes B. try to understand parents’ feelings
C. follow parents’ rules without questions D. argue with parents calmly
68. Which way is NOT mentioned to get on well with parents?
A. Listening to your parents carefully. B. Reading books and watching films about families.
C. Helping your parents do the chores. D. Sharing your thoughts clearly.
69. What does the underlined word “compromise” mean in the passage?
A. Argue loudly. B. Reach an agreement.
C. Refuse to talk. D. Follow others directly.
70. Which of the following is the best title for the passage?
A. For Your Own Good B. How to Make Rules
C. Building Bridges with Parents D. What Strict Parents
第二节 阅读表达(共5题;每题2分,满分10分)
阅读下面短文,简略回答问题。
Having good friends makes you happy, and being a good friend to others can do the same for them. There is no need to say that good friends are important. What are good friends like? Are you and your friends in a healthy friendship?
Good friends make you feel good and help you grow.
Good friends say and do things that make you happy—they praise you sincerely and feel happy about your small wins. They also help you grow: they encourage you to try new things, like joining a club or speaking up in class, and never laugh at your mistakes. With their support, you may become more outgoing and confident as time goes by.
Good friends do not need to share the same interests.
No two leaves are the same. Everyone is different, so good friends do not have to love the same things. If you like different activities—one of you might be very fond of sports while the other enjoys painting or reading—you can still get along well. You can learn from each other’s hobbies, open your minds, and become closer by sharing stories about your experiences, whether it is an exciting game or a beautiful piece of art you created.
Good friends are good listeners.
Good friends are always there to listen when you need someone to talk to. They take the time to pay attention to what you are saying, even if it is just a worry about homework or a silly dream you have. They let you express your ideas and feelings freely without judgment. When you are sad or worried, their careful listening can make you feel better and more loved.
To be in a healthy friendship is one of the luckiest things in life. Treasure it and it will light up every part of your wonderful life.

Wang and his friends show us that if we love something, we can make great things happen. Dreams don’t care how old we are-they just need our heart and hard work. So go ahead! We can reach for the stars!

A. wear parents’ shoes B. try to understand parents’ feelings
C. follow parents’ rules without questions D. argue with parents calmly

A. Listening to your parents carefully. B. Reading books and watching films about families.

A. Argue loudly. B. Reach an agreement.
