The Spirit of Sportsmanship Sportsmanship is not just about winning, but about respecting others and playing fairly. It in- cludes many important qualities such as teamwork, determination, perseverance, courage, and re spect, which can be seen in various sports activities. In the school sports meeting last month, there was a touching moment during the running race.Tom,one of the runners, fell down when he was running. His knee was hurt, but he didn't give up.He stood up slowly and kept going.Although he didn't win the race,he showed great perseverance by finishing it. The audience cheered for him loudly because of his strong-willed spirit. Teamwork is another key part of sportsmanship.Last week, our class had a basketball match with Class Three. At first,we were behind by 10 points. But our team members didn't lose heart. We worked together, passed the ball quickly, and helped each other. Finally,we won the game through teamwork. This experience made us understand that teamwork makes us stronger, and we can achieve more to- gether than alone. Playing sports teaches us to face both victory and failure with a positive attitude. When we compete,we should remember that fair play is more important than the gold medal. The spirit of sportsmanship will always encourage us to try our best, never give up,and respect others in our daily life. 2
