The solution? A good old-fashioned road trip. As many states make travel rules less strict, they're encouraging people to move around within their home state to help increase local business. A road trip in one's vehicle allows for a sense of control and you know whose germs(细菌) are in your space. The prioritization(优先) of cleanliness Travelers generally expect a clean hotel room when they arrive, and now expectations will be higher than ever. We're about to become concerned with cleanliness to the point that it could become the top priority of hotels, more so than comfortable beds and good service. Checking list can show whether hosts are practicing strict new clean guidelines, including a24-hour waiting period between bookings. The new appeal of nature Travelers will be rightly nervous about crowds and anxious to avoid them. That will result in an explosion of visitors to national parks and other places where crowds are less likely to be met with. This could be the start of the golden age of camping,as people want to get outside while keeping social distance. _______________ Health is at the forefront of everyone's minds these days, and it is safe to say it'll stay therefore a long time yet. Meanwhile, people are sick of being indoors, so tourism is likely to reflect an increasing desire to promote good health while getting outside. Intrepid Travel's CEO James told The Times, "If 2020 proves to be a year we spend a lot of time indoors, 2021 will be about getting outdoors and getting active, with tours centred around things like cycling and hiking." 21. Taking a road trip is encouraged to__________ A. replace a tiring journey by air B. prevent germs from spreading C. improve drivers' control of the vehicle D. promote local economic development 22. What can we learn from the passage? A. Hotels should put comfort in the first place. B. Travelers should book a room 24 hours ahead. C. Camping is a good choice to avoid crowds. D. People tend to get sick after staying long indoors. 23. What is the best title for Paragraph 5? A. The rise of health tourism B. The routine of keeping fit C. The benefit of getting active D. The importance of health care B BEING an astronaut sounds cool, doesn’t it? In space, they get to do some pretty amazing things, like floating in zero gravity (重力). However, there are also plenty of things that astronauts can’t do because of their weightless environment, and that’s very sad. What’s worse, they can’t even let their sadness show — because it’s impossible to cry in zero gravity. Of course, astronauts can still produce tears. But crying is much more difficult in space, reported The Atlantic in January. Without gravity, tears don’t flow downward out of the eyes like they do here on Earth. This means that when you cry in space, your tears have nowhere to go — they just stick to your eyes. In May 2011, astronaut Andrew Feustel experienced this during one of his spacewalks. “Tears,” he said, “don’t fall off of your eye...They just kind of stay there.” Besides making your vision unclear, this can also cause physical pain. Back on Earth, tears are supposed to bring comfort to the eyes. But that’s not the case in space. The space environment dries out astronauts’ eyes, and when tears suddenly wet the eyes, it can cause pain rather than comfort.” My right eye is painful like crazy.” Feustel told his teammate during the walk. Since gravity doesn’t work in space, astronauts need some extra help to get rid of the tears. Feustel chose to rub his eyes against his helmet to wipe the tears away. Another choice is to just wait — “When the tears get big enough, they simply break free of the eye and float around,” astronaut Ron Parise told The Atlantic. There are lots of small things — things like crying — that we are so used to on Earth. We usually take them for granted, until they become a problem in a totally different environment, like space. There, astronauts can’t talk to each other directly. They also can’t eat or drink in normal ways. They can’t even burp (打嗝), because there is no gravity to hold the food down in their stomach. If they do burp, they just end up throwing up (呕吐) everything in their stomach, according to the UK National Space Center. Thus, perhaps it’s only space explorers who can honestly say: “Gravity, you’re the best.” 24. From Paragraphs 2 and 3, we can know that ________. A. astronauts are unable to feel sad in space B. astronauts produce fewer tears in space C. tears produced in space don’t flow downward D. tears produced in space flow down more slowly 25. What effect do tears have on astronauts? A. They cause physical pain. B. They bring comfort to them. C. They make their vision clearer. D. They float around and cause trouble. 26. What can the astronaut do to get rid of the tears? A. Rub his eyes against his helmet to let the tears float forward. B. Get the tears big enough to break away from his eyes. C. Get the tears big enough to fall off of his eyes. D. Rub his eyes by hand to let the tears float around. 27. What’s the second-to-last paragraph mainly about? A. Suggestions on how astronauts can stay comfortable in space. B. Things that humans can’t do without gravity. C. Why burping is impossible in space. D. Other basic things that are difficult to do in space. C I first began experiencing worry and depression at the age of 14, after being bullied (欺凌) at school for years. While at first worry and unhappiness would come and go, it finally became a constant part of my life.  I wanted so much to find a good way to overcome (克服) my worry and unhappiness that I tried everything; special teas, yoga, anything I read about in books, and advice given by doctors. However hard I had tried, I still felt that I hadn’t even come close to dealing with the problem. But one afternoon, my eyes fell upon an article in a magazine. I was reading that talked about how dogs were able to help people with worry and unhappiness. The very next day, I decided to get a dog — a corgi (柯基犬). When I brought my little corgi, Buddy, home, I didn’t realize how much he would change my life. It didn’t happen right away, however. Once the “puppy excitement” went away, my worry and unhappiness came back as usual. One morning, I woke up with those familiar feelings again. I didn’t want to get out of bed, I turned to pull the covers back over my head and give up. That’s when I saw Buddy. Buddy started jumping all over me, licking my face, letting me know that it was time to go outside. It seemed that he was saying, “There’s no time to be sad, the world is amazing!” And for the first time in my life, on a day when my worry and unhappiness were strong, I got out of bed. I put on my winter clothes and went for a walk in the snow with my new friend. I realized at that moment, walking down the street in winter, my life was changing. I really was a new person. This was my new beginning, my missing puzzle (拼图) piece. It’s been more than a year since that day and I’ve never spent another morning unable to get out of bed and I’ve not cried myself to sleep or spent my days filled with fear and regret. Sure, I still have days when I feel sad or worried, but with Buddy by my side, I’ve finally learned how to deal with these feelings and emotions. 28. According to the first two paragraphs, the author ________. A. has been a school bully for years B. suffered from worry and unhappiness in the age of 4 C. felt less sad after doing yoga, reading books and so on D. tried many ways to fight worry and unhappiness but nothing worked 29. When the author felt worried again, ________ A. She played games at home with buddy. B. She spent the whole day sleeping in bed. C. She went out to drink with some friends. D. Buddy helped her out of the bad feelings. 30. How does the author feel in the last paragraph? A. Hopeful B. Worried C. Confused D. Disappointed 31 The author wrote this passage mainly to ________. A. Stress (强调) the danger of worry and unhappiness B. explain that it is helpful to keep a dog C. suggest different ways to deal with bad feelings D. show how her dog helped her to fight worry and unhappiness D New evidence suggests that studying Chinese and learning to write Chinese characters may train cognitive (认知的) abilities, which are not developed by learning other languages and writing systems. A study conducted by researchers from the UK’s Wellcome Trust found that people who speak Chinese use both temporal lobes (颞叶) of their brain to understand the language. This is very different from English-language speakers who use only the left temporal lobe. Speakers of Chinese use intonation (语调) to tell between completely different meanings of particular words, which needs stronger cognitive abilities. Besides, the practice of handwriting, especially of Chinese characters, will aid the development of motor skills, learning shapes and letters and will keep the mind sharp. Through the use of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, researchers found that neural (神经的) activity in children who practiced printing letters by hand was more strengthened than those who just looked at them. Compared with English, mostly written in line and from left to right, Chinese characters have more complex in structure (复杂的结构). Their writing involves strokes (笔画) in all four directions: up, down, left, and right. The movement of the fingers and hand helps improve neural activity in the working, thinking, and memory of the brain of the learners. Evidence also suggests that there is a connection between the learning of Chinese and math skills. Researchers from New Zealand noticed that Asian children educated in their own languages appear to have gained a greater understanding of math ideas than English-speaking children. During the natural learning process of Chinese, the student is learning basic math ideas. Math skills are included in character writing because it includes skills such as counting, grouping, ordering, and identifying similarities and differences. While the research on the relationship between the learning of Chinese and cognition is not yet fully clear, there is good evidence to suggest that learning Chinese tones and characters represents an added challenge to language learning. 32. What is the text centred on? A. Why Asian children are better at math test. B. Why Chinese is a difficult language to learn. C. How learning Chinese benefits our cognition. D. How Chinese writing differs from English writing. 33. What does the study by UK’s Wellcome Trust show? A English speakers should learn Chinese. B. Chinese has more intonations than English. C. Using Chinese needs a higher-level brain activity. D. Mastering different meanings of Chinese is difficult. 34. Why is learning Chinese beneficial to solving math problems? A. They need quite different cognitive abilities. B. Chinese writing looks like math symbols. C. Chinese children naturally do well in math. D. They share several key cognitive abilities. 35. How is the text mainly developed? A. By offering supporting findings. B. By comparing former research. C. By discussing problems and solutions. D. By listing advantages and disadvantages. 第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 Khalid Mohsin Shaeri, a Saudi man, has been unable to leave his bedroom for the past two and a half years. ____36____ His situation drew the attention of Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah and he showed great concern about him. One of the major headaches for her was finding her way in the huge school building. It was a six-story building. On each floor, hallways stretched in four directions, learning to classrooms, laboratories and teachers’ offices. Somewhere in the building, there was also a library, a cafeteria and a gym. Having a poor sense of direction, Eva found it impossible to get around in such a huge building. All the different hallways and rooms were too much to think about, let alone commit to memory. She decided that she would memorize where her classes were and then pretend that the rest of the place didn’t exist. In her first PE class, Eva was shocked when Coach Pitt announced that everyone had to run one mile around the track outside. She searched the faces of her classmates for signs of panic. There was nothing she feared more than having to run a whole mile. To Eva, “a mile” was used to describe long distances. It was ten miles from her home to her grandfather’s, and that always seemed like a long way, even in a car! When Coach Pitt blew his whistle (哨子), Eva figured she would be left in the dust. However, while some of her classmates edged ahead, others actually fell behind. “It’s just the beginning,” she thought. “I’ll come in last for sure.” Soon Eva began to breathe hard with her heart pounding and legs shaking. Feeling desperate, Eva started using a mind trick on herself. She stopped thinking about the word “mile”. Instead, she focused on reaching the shadow cast on the track by an oak tree up ahead. Then she concentrated on jogging to the spot where the track curved (拐弯). After that, she tried to see if she could complete her first lap. One lap turned into two, then three, then four. 注意: 1. 续写词数应为150个左右; 2. 请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 When Coach Pitt said “Nice work!” to her at the finish line, Eva was surprised. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Eva decided to use the same trick to deal with the school building. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 江苏省南京市2025-2026学年第一学期 高一英语译林(2020版)期末模拟试卷 全卷满分:150分 考试时间:120分钟 2026.01 第一部分:听力(共两节,满分30分) 第一节(共5小题;每小题1.5分,满分7.5分) 听下面5段对话。 How much will the man pay? My mother helped me as a few friends to see him working on the set of a film as a gift for my birthday. M: You are an actress now yourself. Did your mother ever try to stop you from acting? W: Not at all. Just the opposite. She said I should follow my heart. I guess that’s the same thing she did. When she was younger. My grandparents hadn’t wanted her to take up acting, you know, especially. As she had to move from London to Hollywood. I don’t think your family took her seriously at first. I think she was quite homesick and she probably could have done with a little more family support. M: Now you look very much like your mother, don’t you? W: Oh, yes. My mouth, the shape of my face and my nose definitely do. I think my eyes, my forehead and my skin color are different from my mother’s, but everyone tells me I look like her. 听第10段材料,回答小题。【此处可播放相关音频,请去附件查看】 17. When will the Burj Dubai be completed? A. In 2010. B. In 2009. C. In 2008. 18. Where is the center of the tallest buildings at present? A. In Europe and the Middle East. B. In North America and Asia. C. In Asia and the Middle East. 19. Why do people build so many tall buildings? A. Tall buildings are wonderful to look at. B. Tall building save more resources. C. People like to live in tall buildings. 20. What is the height of the Empire State Building? A. About 400 meters. B. About 200 meters. C. About 300 meters. 【答案】17. C 18. C 19. B 20. A 【解析】 【详解】Skyscrapers have become very common in Europe. Cities such as Frankfort, Madrid, Valencia, Malmo and Paris, all have very tall buildings under construction. However, the center of the world for skyscrapers is neither Europe nor America. The tallest buildings in the world are being built in Asia and the Middle East. At more than 500 meters tall, the tallest building in the world was Taipei 101 in Taipei, Taiwan in 2015. However, when completed in 2008, the Burj Dubai in the United Arab Emirates rises 162 stories and more than800 meters. Another building in Dubai is planned to be over 1, 200 meters tall. That’s about three times as tall as the Empire State Building. Skyscrapers are part of our future for many reasons. For one, they require less land to build and use less electricity and other resources. Plus, people who live in cities with high rises are less likely to own a car. In New York and London, for example, the majority of residents do not drive. Still, a lot of people think that really tall buildings ruin the look of a city. What do you think? 第二部分:阅读(共两节,满分50分) 第一节(共15小题;每小题2.5分,满分37.5分) 阅读下列短文,从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项选出最佳选项。 A The return of the road trip People are cager to get out of their houses, but not badly enough to get on a plane. The importance of health care 【答案】21. D 22. C 23. A 【解析】 【分析】本文是一篇说明文。文章主要介绍了旅游的不同形式以及注意事项。 21题详解】 细节理解题。根据文章第一段“As many states make travel rules less strict, they're encouraging people to move around within their home state to help increase local business.(由于许多州的旅行规定不那么严格,他们鼓励人们在本州内迁徙,以帮助增加当地业务。)”可知,鼓励公路有助于当地经济发展。故选D项。 【22题详解】 细节理解题。根据文章第四段“This could be the start of the golden age of camping,as people want to get outside while keeping social distance.(这可能是露营黄金时代的开始,因为人们想要外出,同时保持社交距离。)”可知,为避开拥挤,露营是一个不错的选择。故选C项。 【23题详解】 主旨大意题。根据文章最后一段“Meanwhile, people are sick of being indoors, so tourism is likely to reflect an increasing desire to promote good health while getting outside.(与此同时,人们厌倦了待在室内,所以旅游业很可能反映出人们越来越希望在户外运动的同时促进健康。)”可知,最后一段主要介绍了健康旅游的增长。所以标题为“健康旅游的增长”。故选A项。 B BEING an astronaut sounds cool, doesn’t it? 【答案】24. C 25. A 26. B 27. Sure I still have days when I feel sad or worried, but with Buddy by my side, I’ve finally learned how to deal with these feelings and emotions. A. Hopeful B. Worried C. Confused D. Disappointed 31. The author wrote this passage mainly to ________. A. Stress (强调) the danger of worry and unhappiness B. explain that it is helpful to keep a dog C. suggest different ways to deal with bad feelings D. show how her dog helped her to fight worry and unhappiness 【答案】28. A. English speakers should learn Chinese. 【答案】32. (运用了it作形式主语句型) 第二节 (满分25分) 67. 阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。 Eva spent the first week of high school trying to keep her head above water. One of the major headaches for her was finding her way in the huge school building. It was a six-story building. On each floor, hallways stretched in four directions, learning to classrooms, laboratories and teachers’ offices. Somewhere in the building, there was also a library, a cafeteria and a gym. Having a poor sense of direction Eva found it impossible to get around in such a huge building. “I’ll come in last for sure.” Soon Eva began to breathe hard, with her heart pounding and legs shaking. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】参考范文 When Coach Pitt said “Nice work!” to her at the finish line, Eva was surprised. Never in her wildest dream had she imagined that she could achieve such an eye-catching score! Conquering this one mile was a milestone in her running career! Amazingly, Coach Pitts’ positive recognition installed an enormous sense of achievement into her heart. Enthusiastic cheers and thunderous applauses from her classmates kept her on the top of the world. Breathless and exhausted, she realized that overcoming seemingly the toughest challenges just needed a smart strategy like her mind trick. Her initial self-doubt gave way to self-confidence. Being a freshman, she tended to get lost in the 6-story maze, leaving her so helpless. Staring at the towering teaching building, Eva came up with a good idea, with a smile blooming across her face. Eva decided to use the same trick to deal with the school building. No sooner had she returned to the confusing maze than she set out to explore the first floor. Convinced that her mind trick would locate her in the school as soon as possible, she came to a gym, which was well-equipped with various workout facilities. Next to the gym was a cafeteria, which provided a wide range of foods and drinks. As Eva walked back to her classroom, she noticed that she felt less overwhelmed by this huge complex. Time ticking away, Eva eventually got familiar with the vast maze in the way she finished the one-mile run. One lap at a time did work! So did one floor a week! It dawned on her that goals are easier to achieve in small steps. 词汇激活 行为类 ①意识到:realize/be aware ②克服:overcome/get over ③开始做:set out to do/set about doing 情绪类 ①自信的:self-confidence/self-faith ②无助的:helpless/powerless 【点睛】[高分句型1] Never in her wildest dream had she imagined that she could achieve such an eye-catching score!(由连接词that引导的宾语从句) [高分句型2] No sooner had she returned to the confusing maze than she set out to explore the first floor.
