通读全文,尤其是第一段“Looking for amazing discounts on Broadway shows this Black Friday and Cyber Monday? We’ve got you covered with fantastic deals on some of the hottest musicals and plays in town! 故选A项。 B Decades ago, my friend Caetlin received a special assignment from the poet Robert L. Hass, who was then her undergraduate literature professor. He instructed each student to memorize three poems of their choosing from The Norton Anthology of American Literature — not for any urgent exam reason, he claimed, but instead to prepare them for their unavoidable future solitude (孤独). At some point, Caetlin recalls him saying, you’re going to be alone, and poetry is going to be all you have. If the task was a strange one, it’s because the act of memorizing a poem feels curiously old-fashioned in an era when few of us encounter poetry at all. When I was in graduate school, working toward a degree in English literature, I mostly limited myself to prose (散文). It was only in my 40s that I began to change my ways. It happened in a flight to Seattle. For hours, I read nothing else but a poem. Sometimes I spoke its lines aloud, my voice masked by the airplane’s thrum. Sometimes I went through the whole poem at once, and sometimes I repeated a single stanza (诗节) over and over, and by the time my plane landed on the West Coast, I had the whole thing, all 40 lines of it, in my head. Because the process is as simple as it is very boring, memorizing a great poem always begins as a crime. The boredom of repetition reduces the great charm it has. But as you run your hands through the rock, the lines at last come together again, and the scattered text transforms back into a treasure, often a more valuable one than it was before. In other words, poetry survives continuously by becoming a part of those who read it. It can do so only because it is so specific, so entirely different from us, that taking it in expands our own sense of what we are. Some of the poems I’ve memorized are already fading, and that’s fine. I know that if I spend a little time with them, they’ll sing in me again. Others keep thumping in me like a new pulse. I won’t promise you that memorizing poetry will make your life better, but it will make you more: more in touch with language, with other minds, maybe with what you might yet become. 4. Why did Robert L. Hass advise students to read poems? A. To become literature professors. B. To prepare for the coming exams. C. To compose more original poems. D. To relieve their future loneliness. 5. Why does the author say that memorizing a poem begins as a crime? A. It’s out of date to recite poems. B. Repetition wastes a lot of time. C. Repetition spoils the poem’s beauty. D. It’s a shame to read poems on plane. 6. How does understanding poetry influence us? A. By broadening self-understanding. B. By refreshing our good memories. C. By helping us survive the hard life. D. By reminding us to forget the past. 7. What is the author’s attitude towards memorizing poetry in the last paragraph? A. Critical. B. Doubtful. C. Dismissive. D. Appreciative. D 5. C 6. A 7. 根据第一段“He instructed each student to memorize three poems of their choosing from The Norton Anthology of American Literature — not for any urgent exam reason, he claimed, but instead to prepare them for their unavoidable future solitude (孤独).(他指示每个学生从《诺顿美国文学选集》中选择三首诗背诵下来——他声称,不是为了任何紧急的考试原因,而是为了让他们为不可避免的未来孤独做好准备。)” 根据第三段“Because the process is as simple as it is very boring, memorizing a great poem always begins as a crime. The boredom of repetition reduces the great charm it has.(因为这个过程既简单又非常无聊,所以背诵一首伟大的诗歌总是从一种罪过开始。 根据第四段“In other words, poetry survives continuously by becoming a part of those who read it. It can do so only because it is so specific, so entirely different from us, that taking it in expands our own sense of what we are.(换句话说,诗歌通过成为阅读它的人的一部分而不断存活下来。 故选A。 根据最后一段“I won’t promise you that memorizing poetry will make your life better, but it will make you more: more in touch with language, with other minds, maybe with what you might yet become.(我不会承诺背诵诗歌会让你的生活变得更好,但它会让你变得更多:更多地接触语言,与其他人的思想接触,也许还能接触到你可能会成为什么样的人。)” D。 C We all notice bright colors. People who choose to go eye-catching, whether they express themselves through clothes or accessories (配饰), hear everything from “No one is going to miss you at the party” to “I would never have the courage to wear that.” But according to research, those comments may be both accurate and expected. Adam D. Pazda and Christopher A. Thorstenson (2019) examined how we perceive people at first impression who wear bright colors. They specifically examined the effect of chroma (色度). They found that targets, both male and female, who were wearing or surrounded by high-chroma colors were perceived as more open and outgoing than in a low-chroma setting. They concluded that chroma is a variable of perception that can influence first impressions of personality. Drilling down further, they found that high-chroma colors strengthened viewer perspective of openness and extraversion (外向), but not other personalities. These observations are important because some job duties draw on some of the personalities inferred through bright colors. Pazda and Thorstenson recognize what job seekers no doubt consider as they look for a career to match their personal nature: in some occupations, success is fueled by possessing certain personality qualities. They give examples of industries such as sales and marketing as well as customer service as fields where extraverts thrive (繁荣). Accordingly, applicants for these positions may be viewed more favorably and judged as more competent if they wear highly chromatic clothing. Regarding the generality of their results, Pazda and Thorstenson note that one of the limitations of their study was their use of participants living in the United States, which means their findings may not predict results in other cultures. They note the possibility that chroma may influence the perception of personality differently in non-Western countries, and that high-chroma clothing may be perceived as at odds with social norms in other cultures. The practical takeaway, at least in the United States, appears to be that bright colors, like the peacock’s tail, will get you noticed. But depending on your goals, consider tailoring your chroma to the circumstances, personally and professionally. 8. What is the focus of the study mentioned in the passage? A. The cultural implications of high chroma colors. B. The influence of clothing on viewer perceptions. C. The connection between clothing and job suitability. D. The impact of high chroma colors on first impression. 9. What does the underlined phrase “draw on” in paragraph 4 probably mean? A. take advantage of B. is down to C. contribute to D. dig up 10. Which might be a limitation of the study? A. The culturally specific findings. B. The unmonitored research process. C. The outdated data analysis methods. D. The relatively insufficient theoretical basis. 11. What is the practical advice given by the author in the last paragraph? A. Reserve bright colors for social events. B. Wear bright colors to be noticed. C Avoid bright colors in professional settings. D. Use bright colors strategically based on your goals. D 9. A 10. A 11. 根据第二段“Adam D. Pazda and Christopher A. Thorstenson (2019) examined how we perceive people at first impression who wear bright colors. They specifically examined the effect of chroma (色度).( Adam D. Pazda和Christopher A. Thorstenson(2019)研究了我们如何看待穿亮色衣服的人的第一印象。 故选A。 根据最后一段“Regarding the generality of their results, Pazda and Thorstenson note that one of the limitations of their study was their use of participants living in the United States, which means their findings may not predict results in other cultures.(关于他们研究结果的普遍性,Pazda和Thorstenson指出,他们研究的局限性之一是他们使用了生活在美国的参与者,这意味着他们的研究结果可能无法预测其他文化的结果)”可知,特定文化的发现可能是这项研究的局限性。故选A。 根据最后一段“But depending on your goals, consider tailoring your chroma to the circumstances, personally and professionally.(但是根据你的目标,考虑根据个人和专业的情况来调整你的色度)”可知,作者在最后一段给出的实用建议是根据你的目标策略性地使用明亮的颜色。故选D。 D Now, artificial intelligence (AI) is coming for the most attractive and exciting jobs. Stars may worry that AI is stealing their work and giving less talented performers the skills to take away their audience. In fact, the famous individuals complaining the most loudly about the new technology are the ones who stand to benefit the most. Far from weakening star power, AI will make the biggest celebrities bigger than ever by allowing them to be in all markets, in all types of media, at all times. This isn’t the first time that technology has changed the rules of the fame game. People started talking about stars in the 18th century when the widespread access to reading materials made it possible to be truly famous within your lifetime. Film and radio originally seemed like a threat to stars, who worried their live performances would be devalued. In fact, those technologies started the era of the superstar, a term that caught on in the 1920s. A similar worry greeted the invention of television. But again, the new tech made the famous even more so, bringing them into every living room. As AI-generated content floods into the entertainment business, artists and entertainment professionals are worrying once more that their fame will be reduced — and again, the outcome is likely to be the opposite. These opportunities come with conditions attached. Artists are right to worry about copyright, which must be protected if AI is not to become a legalised form of piracy. Until these copyright concerns are addressed, AI will be a legal Wild West. The bigger question is how the age of the all-around superstar will appeal to audiences. The risk is boredom. AI is brilliant at remixing and repeating old material but less good at creating exciting content that, for now, remains a human specialty. Yet the entertainment market is highly self-correcting. Audiences have the power to turn a hot hit into a has-been one in an instant, as stars are all too aware. While AI-powered entertainment grows, consumers still seem to enjoy human drama. Sport, perhaps the most AI-proof, real-life event there is, has seen its value to media companies rise in recent years. 12. What is the primary concern of stars in paragraph 1? A. The inability to master AI. B. The low level of their acting skills. C. The decline in their popularity. D. The improvement of audience’s taste. 13. Why does the author mention “film, radio and television”? A. To show the difficulties facing the stars then. B. To prove the techno-panic is common in history. C. To confirm AI will surely come into every family. D. To predict the trend of the technological development. 14. How can superstars attract audience according to the text? A. By avoiding the use of AI. B. By cooperating with directors. C. By learning more advanced technologies. D. By improving content creation. 15. What is the text mainly about? A. The era of AI is around the corner. B AI creates a brand-new entertainment industry. C. AI makes stars worried and audience demanding. D. AI is more of a helper than an imagined threat to stars. C 13. B 14. D 15. 根据第一段中“Stars may worry that AI is stealing their work and giving less talented performers the skills to take away their audience. 根据第二段中“Film and radio originally seemed like a threat to stars, who worried their live performances would be devalued. In fact, those technologies started the era of the superstar, a term that caught on in the 1920s. A similar worry greeted the invention of television. But again, the new tech made the famous even more so, bringing them into every living room. 根据第四段中“AI is brilliant at remixing and repeating old material but less good at creating exciting content that, for now, remains a human specialty. 通读全文,尤其是第一段中“In fact, the famous individuals complaining the most loudly about the new technology are the ones who stand to benefit the most. Far from weakening star power, AI will make the biggest celebrities bigger than ever by allowing them to be in all markets, in all types of media, at all times. Art is all around us. They are high speed railway, mobile payment, bicycle sharing, and online shopping, which have added great convenience to our daily life. Without any barrier to the Internet and a host of use of mobile payment, online shopping has gained much popularity, engaging the public to form different consumption habits. I seldom shop at brick-and-mortar shops now. What I often purchase online is clothing and stationery. The easy access to consumer reviews helps me make informed purchases. Also, shopping online helps me save time and money. But because you can’t see the real thing, the goods you receive may not be the same as those online, which is really annoying. Whatever happens, we hope you can improve the shortcomings of the technology and live a healthier and more colorful life. 词汇积累 闻名的:known →famous 赢得:gain →get →win 此外:also →besides →in addition 令人恼火的:annoying →angry 2. I come from China, known for contemporary four great new inventions. I come from China, which is known for contemporary four great new inventions. 1】Without any barrier to the Internet and a host of use of mobile payment, online shopping has gained much popularity, engaging the public to form different consumption habits.(运用了现在分词短语作状语) 【高分句型2】What I often purchase online is clothing and stationery.(运用了what引导的主语从句) 第二节 (满分25分) 47. Mary was the art teacher for primary school students. On this particular day, she was guiding them through the process of drawing a scenic landscape. Akila yawned(打哈欠), clearly disinterested - drawing wasn’t her thing. A small group of students gathered around Tina, laughing at her unusual drawing: a sun sporting sunglasses and trees topped with ice cream cones. Mary instructed Tina firmly but with unease, “Draw it the way I showed you.” As the lesson continued, doubt crept into Mary’s mind. Had the joy of creativity been overshadowed by the pressure to fit in? She scanned the room, observing her students’ faces – some concentrated, others uncertain. Akila’s disinterest was clear and Tina’s imaginative drawing had been met with ridicule instead of praise. After class, Mary sat down with Tina, her tone softening, “Why did you draw the sun with sunglasses and the trees with ice creams?” she asked gently. Tina’s eyes sparkled with a touch of rebellion (叛逆)-“I love ice cream, and I thought the sun would look cool with sunglasses. Why do we always have to draw like everyone else?” Mary paused, her thoughts racing. Tina’s drawings weren’t just curious —they were a window into a world where imagination ruled, where rales could be bent into delightful chaos. Was she, by enforcing a rigid style, killing that very creativity? The next morning, Mary walked into the classroom with a renewed sense of purpose. She placed a large sheet of paper in front of the class and announced a new project: they would create a collective(集体的)artwork titled “Our Dream World” with no rules. They were free to use colors, shapes, and patterns however they wished. At first, the students hesitated, unsure of this newfound freedom. Akila leaned back, skeptical of what seemed like another pointless exercise. But Tina, her creativity no longer restricted, eagerly grabbed her crayons and began to draw with abandon. Then, Maya joined in. And then Michael... As the students worked, Mary observed them with curiosity. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Mary stood back and surveyed the creation. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】Paragraph 1: As the students worked. Mary observed them with curiosity. She noticed how Akila, initially disinterested, had quietly chosen vibrant colors and was now blending them together to create a swirling sky filled with fantastical creatures that flew over a stone castle. Meanwhile, Tina was enthusiastically adding playful details to her section of the paper-a whimsical garden where flowers wore hats and creatures rested on the ice cream-topped trees. Mary felt a wave of relief washed over her. The room was alive with chatter and laughter, as Akila and Tina frequently exchanged ideas and inspired one another. Akila even leaned over to admire Tina’s ice cream trees and said, “That is mind-blowing!” It was wonderful to see them cooperate, their initial differences melting away in the warmth of shared creativity. Paragraph 2: Mary stood back and surveyed the creation. The enomious canvas had transformed into a magnificent portrayal of each student’s imagination, forming a breathtaking landscape that reflected their individuality yet spoke to their collective spirit. Mary felt a sense of pride swell within her; she realized that in letting go of rigid structures, her students gave their painting an unrealistic but dream-like quality. Akila, Tina, and the rest of the class had not only embraced their own creative paths but had also nurtured each other’s ideas. They were thrilled, “It was the best painting ever! We should definitely hang it on the wall!” Inspired by the moment, Mary decided to host an exhibition of their dream world, inviting parents and other classes to admire the beauty of imagination unleashed in her classroom. 鼓舞:inspire/motivate/encourage ②.欣赏: admire/appreciate ③.说:say/utter 情绪类 ①.热情地: enthusiastically/passionately ②.高兴的:thrilled/glad/delighted/happy 【点睛】[高分句型1]. B Decades ago, my friend Caetlin received a special assignment from the poet Robert L. In other words poetry survives continuously by becoming a part of those who read it. C We all notice bright colors. C. Avoid bright colors in professional settings. D. Use bright colors strategically based on your goals. D Now, artificial intelligence (AI) is coming for the most attractive and exciting jobs. 13. B. AI creates a brand-new entertainment industry. C. AI makes stars worried and audience demanding. D. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
