A
When I was about twelve years old, a girl in my class liked to point out my shortcomings (缺点). She said I was too thin, not good at maths, and talked more than I should. At last, I became very angry. I ran to my father with tears in my eyes. He listened to me quietly and asked, “Are those things true or not? Jane, don’t you ever think about what you’re really like?” Then he added, “Well, you have that girl’s opinions. Make a list of everything she said and mark the points that are true.”
I did as he told me. To my great surprise, I found out that about half the things were true. Some of them I couldn’t change, like being very thin, but many I could, and I wanted to change. For the first time, I got a clear picture of myself.
I brought the list back to Dad, and he said, “Now you know better about yourself. But you have to learn to listen. Don’t just close your ears angrily and feel hurt. When something about you is true, you’ll find it will be of great help to you. Don’t shut your ears. Listening to the truth and doing what you know are the right things.”
I often remember Dad’s advice when important moments come now. I think I have no better than Dad’s advice.
26. Why did Jane run to her father with tears?
A. Because a classmate liked to point out her shortcomings.
B. Because she had a fight with her classmate.
C. Because her father was angry with her.
D. Because she failed her maths test.
27. From the passage, we can know that Jane’s father is ________.
A. lazy and shy B. careless but quiet
C. patient and wise D. serious and unfriendly
28. Jane thinks her father’s advice is ________.
A. the best advice she has ever got B. only good for classmates
C. too hard to follow in life D. not useful for her now

Dear Susan,
Last Sunday, I made dinner by myself. I thought oil splash noodles (油泼面) were easy to make. So I decided to have a try. They really tasted delicious. I would like to tell you how to make them.
First, cook the noodles. Boil some water in a pot. Put the noodles in the pot and cook for 3-5 minutes. When they’re soft, drain the water and put the noodles in a big bowl.
Next, add seasonings. Put the green onions, garlic, chili powder, and some salt on top of the hot noodles. Then pour the soy sauce (酱油) over them.
Then, pour hot oil. This is the key step! Heat the cooking oil in a small pan until it gets hot. Carefully pour the hot oil over the seasonings! The oil will make the seasonings smell amazing.
Finally, mix and eat. Stir everything together quickly. Now your oil-splashed noodles are ready! They taste hot, delicious, and just right.
It takes 10–15 minutes to make a bowl of oil-splashed noodles. Why not give it a try? ▲
Write back soon. Best wishes!
Yours,
Lily

Ⅶ. 任务型阅读: (共5小题,计10分)
阅读下面短文,根据短文内容,完成下列各题。
Last September, I watched the school sports meeting. When the 800-meter runners rushed to the finish line, I wanted to be one of them. “That’s my new goal,” I told myself. But I knew just wanting wasn’t enough. I needed a plan.
First, I talked to Mr. Lee, our PE teacher. He smiled and said, “Start small. Run 3times a week, and add 100 meters each time.” I wrote this down in my notebook. My plan looked like this. Week 1-2: Run 400 meters every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Week 3-4: Run 500 meters. I also decided to go to bed early—no more playing games after 9 p m.
The first week was hard. On Wednesday, I felt my legs weren’t mine after 300 meters. “I can’t keep going,” I thought. But then I remembered my goal. I took a deep breath and kept running until I finished 400 meters. My mom made me hot milk after each run. “Stick to your plan, and you’ll get better,” she said.
After two months, I could run 800 meters easily. When the school team needed to choose some students, I felt nervous but ready. I ran step by step, following my practice rhythm. In the end, I crossed the finish line in 3 minutes and 20 seconds—good enough to join the team!
Now, I know a goal without a plan is just a dream. My small and clear plan helped me reach what I wanted. Next, I’ll make a new plan to get faster—one step at a time.

Good communication is key to building strong relationships. It helps us make friends and solve problems.
Here are some tips. First, be a good listener and show great interest in polite words. Second, try to speak clearly and slowly, and use simple language. Third, pay attention to your body language. Smiles can show your respect and friendliness. Finally, try to understand others’ feelings and express your ideas kindly. By following these steps, we can communicate better!
Possible Version Two:
Last week, I argued with my best friend Ma Li. She borrowed my favourite storybook but returned it with a broken page. I was so angry that I shouted at her, and she left in tears.
Later, I calmed down and realized I was too rude. I found Ma Li, apologized for my rudeness, and told her I cared more about our friendship than the book. Ma Li also said sorry for not being careful. We hugged and became closer than before. I learned that good communication can help us solve problems.
