On a hot day, you might stay inside a cool room and eat ice cream. But wild animals don't have these things. So, how do they cool off in summer?
People cool down by sweating. Sweat is just salty water. When sweat dries on your skin, it takes heat away and cools you down. Horses sweat, but most animals don't. Instead, they splash in water or roll in mud (泥浆;泥). When the water or mud dries, it cools their bodies.
Look at the mule deer's big ears ! They get bigger when it's hot. This helps heat leave their body faster. Rabbits use their big ears to cool down too.
Shade means places out of sunlight. Thick trees in the forest provide enough shade. Sometimes, animals just go into the shade to stay cool. Reptiles (爬行动物) like lizards and snakes can't control their body heat, so they move to cooler places when it's too hot. Bees keep their homes cool by fanning their wings. Some bees fan inside the hive (蜂巢) to move air, and others stay outside to bring fresh air in.
That's how some animals beat the heat in summer!

The Little Ice Age
Today we are trying to deal with global warming. But hundreds of years ago, people had a very different problem——a 400- year period of cold weather! From the 1400s to the 1800s, winters across the NorthernHemisphere (北半球) were colder and lasted longer than they do now.Historians and scientists refer to this time as the Little Ice Age.
The colder climate led to many hardships for people. Crops failed and illnesses spread. People had to spend much more time gathering wood for fires. And sometimes, a large sheet of ice would move down a mountain and destroy (摧毁) a village that was in its way.
Scientists believe the Little Ice Age was caused by natural forces that humans could not control. One reason might have been the sun. The sun often has“storms” of energy known as sunspots. During the Little Ice Age, there were fewer sunspots than there are today. With fewer sunspots, the sun gave off less energy to warm the Earth. Another natural cause of the cooling may have been volcanoes.During the Little Ice Age, many volcanoes erupted. Their dust and ash might have blocked the sun's light and heat.
Today we are noticing the results of increasing temperatures. The ice in the Arctic Sea is melting. Mountain glaciers (冰川) are getting smaller. However, unlike the Little Ice Age, scientists think humans are adding to this climate change by burning large amounts of coal, oil, and gas.

C. By giving examples. D. By comparing the sun to volcanoes.
45. We can learn from the text that during the Little Ice Age.

B. people had enough food to eat in the Northern Hemisphere
C. maybe there were fewer activities of the sunspots
D. mountain glaciers remain the same size as they were before

Watch how you sit
A lot of people now spend hours sitting in front of a computer. 50 It's important to pay attention to your posture (姿势) and habit once you' re seated. Keep any screen at eye level while you' re working so that you don't have to put your head down to look at it!

· Don't forget to ask for a reply.
· To end the invitation, words like Sincerely or Best regards are usually better than informal ways of Love or Cheers.

Many students find it hard to manage their study time and relaxation time. Here's a good way I' ve tried. First, I make a weekly plan. I divide my time into study time and rest time. For example, Istudy math for 50 minutes, then I take a 15- minute break to walk around or drink water. This helps me pay attention better. When I feel too tired to keep studying, I don't push myself. Instead, I do something fun like drawing or playing table tennis for 30 minutes. It makes me feel refreshed.Remember, good rest doesn't waste time; it helps me study better. Just like the saying goes,“All work no play makes Jack a dull boy.” Try to find your own way, and you' ll feel less worried.
