The paintings of Vincent van Gogh sell for a lot of money today. But before his 1 in 1890, van Gogh had only been able to sell one painting. This star of the art world led a short, sad life that ended in a struggle with mental illness.

Do you know sugar painting? It is a kind of snack and also one of the traditional Chinese art forms. Sugar painting started from the Ming dynasty and became 1 in the Qing dynasty. At that time, many people made a living through sugar painting and they sold it in 2 streets or public places. Now people can still see it in many areas of China.
The sugar painters usually sit before a wooden table. On the side, there is a wooden plate with a revolving arrow (可旋转箭头) on it. Weifang in Shandong is known as the world’s kite capital. It has a long history of kite-making. Now it 1 over 70% of the world’s kites. Emily, an exchange student (交换生) in Beijing, travelled to Weifang with her friend Cathy in April. On their way there, they 2 who invented the kite.
