Space Station Diary
June15,2026
What an amazing day!Waking up in zero gravity never gets old. This momning,I floated out of my
sleeping bag and realized my pen was drifting above my head-just another normal moment here on the
space station.
After a quick breakfast of dehydrated eggs(they taste better than they sound!),I joined the crew for our
daily experiment. We tested how plants grow without soil, and watching the roots curl upward was like
magic.During the break,I stared out the window.Earth looked like a blue marble with white clouds,
and I could even see the Great Barrier Reef glinting in the sunlight. It made me feel both tiny and
connected to everyone back home.

My First Week in Space
July2,2026
Today marks my seventh day on the International Space Station, and I'm still pinching myself to believe
it's real! The first thing I noticed this morning was how silent space is-no birds,no cars, just the soft
hum of the station's engines.I unzipped my sleeping bag (which sticks to the wall like Velcro!)and
floated toward the window. The sunrise over Earth took my breath away-streaks of pink and gold
painting the clouds like a watercolor.
Breakfast was an adventure.I squeezed orange juice from a pouch and ate "space cereal"-it's like
regular cereal but stays in little bite-sized balls so they don't float away. After that,I helped Dr.Chen
fix a tiny leak in the oxygen system.Wearing thick gloves made it tricky, but we did it!Later, during
free time,I tried flipping somersaults in the air. It's so easy here-no gravity pulling me down!
The hardest part?Brushing my teeth. You have to spit into a tissue instead of a sink, and the toothpaste
bubbles float everywhere if you're not careful. But the best part?Calling my family.Mom cried when
she saw me floating on the screen, and my little brother kept asking if I could see our house.I couldn't,
but I told him I was looking right at China, and that made him smile.
Tonight,I'm writing this by the window as Earth glows below.I can see city lights twinkling like
stars on the ground.Who knew being weightless could feel so heavy with happiness?Tomorrow,
we're growing sunflowers in the science lab.I hope they grow toward the light, just like they do on Earth.
Space isn't just a place-it's a feeling.A feeling that anything is possible.
Sweet dreams, everyone.I'll be stargazing while you sleep!
