When I was 4, I wanted to go to Disney World. For most young kids, it's a normal request, but I would walk into Disney World. I was born three months premature (早产的), and because of this, I have cerebral palsy (脑瘫). It is a condition that doesn't allow me to walk on my own. Even so, my dad and I had a detailed plan.
Over the next three years or so, I worked with physical therapists, acquired a walker and practiced walking, standing and balancing—all skills that I would need to turn my goal into a reality.
Then I went, walking so slowly at first, then gradually speeding up, comforted and encouraged by all my friends and family. I lost my balance, bumping into something. Luckily, we had practiced and planned for this type of situation in advance. Holding fast onto the handlebars, I gathered up all of my six-year-old strength, picked up my walker and straightened out, picking up my pace once again. It wasn't too long before cheers came because I had made it to the end, where my mom was waiting with tears in her eyes and arms open wide ready to hug her son and tell him how proud she was.
Looking back on that experience, I realize something pretty essential. Every once in a while, life will throw a few bumps in the road. Though it may set you back for a bit, don't let it stop you. Pick yourself up after you have fallen and go on walking. It's worth it. Besides, there just might be someone cheering you on along the way.

26.Which word can best describe the author?
A. Easy-going. B. Warm-hearted. C. Open-minded. D. Strong-willed.
27.What does the author intend to tell us by sharing his experience?
A. Parents must encourage their children all the time.
B. Children can be challenged in their early life.
C. We shouldn't be stopped by difficulty in life.
D. Disabled children need more support.

These days, ice is easy to get. You can walk to your ice maker and have ice fall into your glass. Hundreds or thousands of years ago, ice wasnˈt this easy to be made or to get. In the past, it involved harvesting ice from frozen bodies of water.
People throughout history have known the value of ice. People in ancient China would wait till the winter to make ice blocks from frozen rivers and then they would use ice blocks to keep food cool through warmer months. In ancient cultures, ice was luxury(奢侈品). Royalty would ship ice and then use it for juice drinks and other treats. In an age when there were no ice makers, ice was truly short-in-supply and a sign of power.
Sometimes its translucence(半透明)made it perfect for decorative purposes. Centuries ago, some Chinese villagers would freeze buckets and water, cut a hole in the top and pour out the unfrozen water. Then theyˈd put a candle into the center. And that is what we call ice lanterns(冰灯)now.
And there are now a lot of big events around the world, some of which result in entire multi-story buildings made from ice, with colored lights that make them look like a frozen fairy tale land.
In 1990, Alaska became the host of the annual World Ice Art Championships, which is now a month-long event that attracts dozens of teams and tens of thousands of visitors. Canada is home to several large ice-based events, including the Ice Magic Festival near Lake Louise and the Deep Freeze Festival in Edmonton.
But the biggest and most mind-blowing event is the Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival, in Harbin, Heilongjiang, China. When completed, the grounds will turn into a real ice world, full of huge buildings and beautiful art with the best visual effect. The ice world includes many features like the Great Wall of China and the Egyptian pyramids, all quite at home in this city that has a lower temperature in January.
28.What is the function of paragraph 1? ()
A. To introduce the topic.
B. To show the main idea.
C. To illustrate the background.
D. To introduce the way of making ice.
29.Why did the author say the ice was luxury? ()
A. The ice would only be used in winters.
B. The ice was transported by ships.
C. The ice would be made for juice drinks.
D. The ice was hard to get in warmer months.
30.What can we learn about the festivals in the last two paragraphs? ()
A. They are not big enough to be hosted.
B. They are only to be seen in Canada.
C. They are all festivals about ice.
D. They are likely to happen in summer.
31.What can be the best title for the passage? ()
A. The Usage of Ice B. The Icy Gamesˈ Host
C. The Ice Was Not Cheap in the Past D. The Art and Value of Ice
D
When it comes to settling down young children, parenting advice focuses mostly on one tool: What to say. Parents are taught to say this or that, or even how to apologize to an angry child. While in practice, many parents turn to another means of comforting: Touch their child. But it's not just any type of touch. It occurs at a particular speed and with a particular pressure.
During the end of the 19th century, many European doctors actually advised parents not to touch their children because they said it would weaken them and make them dependent. This idea hit a fever height in the 1920s when the psychologist John B. Watson wrote a parenting book in which Watson advises mothers to stay away, physically, from children. He believed that by not touching young children, parents teach them to be independent at an early age.
"But then it turns out that the opposite is actually true," neuroscientist Helena Wasling says. "Children who get a lot of touch, support and closeness from their parents are actually the ones that dare to go out and explore as they grow up, because they have a basic safety that they can depend on. And of course, gentle touch can calm and relax adults, just as much as they do to children," says Wasling.
After decades of research, neuroscientists are beginning to understand how our skin senses this type of touch and how that feeling lights up regions of the brain to affect our emotions. It turns out that our skin contains nerves(神经) which can sense a gentle touch. And these nerves are part of a system inside our skin that excites the warm, calm and peaceful feeling you have when you're with people who love you. For some kids with autism(孤独症), this type of touch might not feel good, Wasling notes, and may even feel bad. "A child with autism may become over-sensitive towards physical touch," she says. "The relationship between touch and reward can be totally different."
32.What was believed about parental touch according to paragraph 2? ( )
A. It weakened kids' intelligence.
B. It harmed kids' physical health.
C. It reduced kids' independence.
D. It hurt parent-child relationship.
33.What may happen to children receiving lots of touch according to Helena Wasling? ( )
A. They may be more sensitive. B. They tend to become braver.
C. They may be more protective. D. They tend to become smarter.
34.What can be inferred from the last paragraph? ( )
A. The benefit of touch does not apply to every kid.
B. The amount of touch does not matter to kids.
C. Kids with autism might be more independent.
D. Kids with autism should be rewarded with touch.
35.Which of the following is a suitable title for the passage? ( )
A. An Effective Method to Educate Kids
B. The Effect of Touching Children
C. The Importance of Parenting Strategies
D. A New Research into Social Interaction

Digital Medicine
Could the next suggestion from your doctor be downloading an app? Collectively known as digital medicine, a large number of apps in use or under development can now detect or monitor mental and physical disorders or directly administer therapies. (36)
Many detection aids rely on mobile devices to record such features as users' voices, locations, facial expressions, exercise and sleep; then they apply artificial intelligence to mark the possible change of a condition. Some smart watches, for instance, contain a sensor that automatically detects and warns people of a dangerous heart rate. (37) These wearable detection aids will not replace a doctor any time soon but can be helpful partners in stressing concerns that need follow-up. (38) Some are being developed to detect things such as cancerous DNA, stomach bleeds, body temperature and oxygen levels. The sensors inside your body can then send the data to apps for recording.
(39) For the most part, those intended to diagnose or treat disorders must be proved safe and effective in clinical trials and earn regulatory approval; some may need a doctor's permission.
Clearly, society must move into the future of digital medicine with care—ensuring that the apps go through strict testing, protect privacy and go smoothly into doctors' work. With such protections in place, healthcare costs could be saved by marking unhealthy behaviours and helping people to make changes before diseases set in. (40) For researchers, the patterns that emerge will provide them with novel ideas for how best to build healthier habits and prevent diseases.
A. Not all healthcare apps can be used as digital medicine.
B. Digital medicine has been widely used in all aspects of life nowadays.
C. Detection aids can also take the form of eatable and sensor-bearing pills.
D. They can both help diagnose symptoms and enhance traditional medical care.
E. Other similar tools can detect breathing disorders, depression and other conditions.
F. These data also help doctors to detect diseases and patients to change their behaviors.
G. For doctors, applying AI to the data from these apps could help them to personalize patient care.

67.阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
This year, I felt very nervous about my English class because I am an international student and this was my first time studying in the UK. I knew I wouldnˈt know anyone in the class, which made me a bit anxious. But since I didnˈt know anyone, I had the chance to do something I almost enjoy as much as socializing—people-watching.
There was another international student in the class, and she was one of the most interesting girls. She sat right behind me. She was always laughing, chatting non-stop, and seemed so happy all the time. She was also very friendly and one of the few people in the class who tried to greet me. She was the kind of person you would like, even if you didnˈt really know her.
At the end of the academic year, we were assigned a big project. The requirements for this project were quite open: we had to read an article, then read or watch related materials, and finally give a class presentation based on what we had learned. The presentations were scheduled for the last month of the semester. Since everyone chose different topics and presented them in different ways, we saw some of the most interesting and diverse presentations Iˈd ever seen.
The girl sitting behind me gave her presentation in the last few days. She walked up to the podium(讲台)and told everyone that she had once read an article about not fitting in while living in a foreign country, because she herself had gone through that kind of struggle. Since it was too difficult to talk about it directly with us, she showed us parts of her diary, sharing her feelings of being homesick and struggling to adjust to a new environment, and how she overcame these difficulties.
注意:(1)续写词数应为150个左右;
(2)请按如下格式在答题纸的相应位置作答。
Almost everyone was moved at the end of her presentation. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
She was relieved and her mood lightened when she returned to her seat. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

第2节 (满分 25 分)
67. Almost everyone was moved at the end of her presentation. Her courage to share such personal experiences touched us deeply. It made me realize that the challenges I had been facing as an international student were not unique to me. Many of us, even though we came from different countries and cultures, had gone through similar struggles of homesickness, loneliness, and the feeling of not fitting in. I could see that her words helped others in the class feel more connected and understood. We all began to look at each other not as strangers but as individuals who shared common experiences.
She was relieved and her mood lightened when she returned to her seat. I could tell that her presentation had helped her let go of some of the weight she had been carrying. She smiled at me as I turned around, and for the first time since Iˈd met her, I could see a calm, peaceful expression on her face. It was as if she had finally found a way to make peace with her experience and was no longer burdened by it. I decided to have a talk with her. I felt good to share my own feelings with her, and at that moment, I realized how much easier it was to connect with others when we opened up about our struggles.

When I came to the U.S., I was only thinking about being a carpenter, but I could not read the newspaper and I could not understand the news on television or movies or anything like this, so I entered the city college to take English classes for foreign students. I was very proud that I was going to a college because no one in my family ever went to any college or to any university. You know, when you are 15 years old in my country, you finish school and then you learn a trade. And that’s exactly what I did. When I was 15 years old, I learned how to be a carpenter. A year later, I came to America. Luckily, I met a very good teacher who encouraged me to take some math classes, business classes and history classes and I became a full-time college student. And today when I look back, I’m so happy because you never know where life will take you. All of a sudden, I started making money, because I was really good at math. You know, how to work out everything with math is so important. This is something that I learned when I started my own business, which is doing really well.
