My Favourite Story
My favourite story is The Ugly Duckling by Hans Christian Andersen. It teaches me a valuable lesson about being true to oneself.
Once upon a time, a big grey duckling was laughed at by other ducks because he looked different. He felt sad and searched for a new home. He met cats and hens, but no one accepted him. One day, he saw beautiful swans and wished to look like them. To his surprise, he found he was a swan himself when he looked in the water!
This story tells me that we shouldn’t judge others by their looks, and everyone has the chance to grow into something wonderful.

The Emperor’s New Clothes is a funny and meaningful story by Hans Christian Andersen.
Once upon a time, an emperor loved new clothes. Two brothers lied to him, saying they could make clothes only clever people could see. The emperor and his officials pretended to see the clothes to avoid looking silly. When the emperor walked in the street, a little boy shouted, “He has no clothes on!”
This story tells us not to tell lies for pride—honesty is the best policy.
