B: Actually, human writers will work with AI more. Although it is powerful, it still needs our guide.
A: Thank you for sharing your ideas. And it’s interesting to know how right is an AI can work together.

They should spend more time with their parents and friends.

What’s the future of social media?
[A]
Jacob Stone, Media Director—The end of screen
All types of technology will use 36 control. That is to say, you talk to your device and it will follow your instructions. Therefore, screens won’t be important. Wanting the 37 smartphones with bigger and better screens will be a thing of the past. Instead, we will see holograms (全息影像)—pictures in the real world. They will look amazingly real. Nowadays we chat with friends and look at their 38 on our phone or computer. In 20 years, we’ll be able to see them sitting next to us, looking very much like a real person. This shift will completely change not only 39 but also education and entertainment.
[B]
Alyssa Tyrone, Creative Manager—Connected to everything and everyone
I think we will definitely have an electronic device 40 our body which will connect us to everything around us. We will be connected to the machines in our homes and places of 41 like our cookers and calculators. We will also 42 straight to the Internet, too. In this way, we can find information just by thinking about it. And, of course, we will also be much closer to each other. It will be possible to share our thoughts and feelings with each other 43 when we’re in different parts of the world.
This will make the world feel much warmer, helping us understand our friends and family better than ever before.

Have you ever lost yourself in doing something so that you lost track of time? Everything around you—from the ringing of phones to the people passing by—seemed to be away.
Most of us have had this experience at one time or another. This is a mental state called “flow”. When it happens, we completely focus on the task before us so that nothing else seems to matter. We feel energetic, even excited, about what we are doing.
The idea of flow was introduced and first studied by psychologist Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi. His flow model shows the emotional states, which we’re likely to experience when trying to complete a task, depend on the difficulty of the challenge and our skill levels. For example, if the task is low challenging and doesn’t require a lot of skills, we’re likely to feel bored towards it. But facing a challenging task without the required skills could easily result in worry. To perform at our best, we need a task with a high difficulty level, and we believe we have well-developed skills to do it. This moves us to a position where we can experience “flow”.
▲ During flow, people can improve performance and get better results, faster. For instance, artists who Csikszentmihalyi interviewed, said that they were highly productive, and that their work was done perfectly “without putting in much effort” in the flow state. Flow can also make people more curious and creative because they have to look for new challenges and information to keep the state. With flow, people have greater levels of happiness and satisfaction in their activities.
Flow often happens during creative activities and sports activities. But flow states aren’t just something experienced, by artists, writers, or sports persons. Flow can happen anytime a person is deeply lost in a task, including during learning activities. Many people want to achieve flow more often in their daily lives. While doing a task, having clear plans, adding something challengeable and giving and receiving feedback (反馈) in time can help achieve flow. It’s more difficult to achieve flow if the focus is disturbed, so it’s necessary that smartphones, TV and other distractions get turned off.
( )61. When people are in flow, they _________.
A. need to discuss on the phone B. focus on the time often
C. give full attention to their tasks D. notice others passing by
( )62. According to Csikszentmialyi’s model, which part shows the flow state?

How do you feel when your teacher asks you to work on a group project with other students? Do you like to work together with others or work 66 ?
The Programme for International Student Assessment, or PISA, carried out a survey of students’ ability to work together in groups. They found that students who do well in tests by themselves are also likely to be better 67 working with other people.
Students in Japan, South Korea, Finland and Canada, where test scores are 68 , also did well in working together to solve problems. This finding was true for many countries.
But this was not true for every country. Chinese students, who also did well in tests, 69 just average collaborative (合作的) skills.
“One reason might be that Chinese parents and teachers focus too much on grades,” said Zhao Zhongxin, former vice president of the Chinese Family Education Association. “Students have a lot of exam pressure and they view school as a place for 70 .”
“However, collaborative skills are very important for 71 students for today’s society,” he added. “ 72 , more Chinese educators are realizing the importance of this and are thinking of ways to help students improve this skill.”
Another interesting finding from the PISA survey was that girls tend (趋向于) to be better than boys at working together. They said girls show 73 active attitudes (态度) towards relationships, which means they are much 74 to communicate with.
PISA also found that the classroom environment tends to enable students to collaborate. In classes where there are a lot of 75 that require communication, such as class debates, students tend to have better attitudes towards collaborating.

Dear Mrs. Wu,
I love video games and I develop my own games. It’s my favorite hobby. My parents were very encouraging at first. The day I started secondary school; they changed their mind. They now suggest that I give up video games altogether because study should be my priority (优先考虑的事项). What’s more, they don’t even allow me to go out with my friends at night. Every time they do that, I act like I don’t care. But in fact, I am quite angry and upset because they simply have no respect for me and my needs. What can I do?
Sincerely yours,
Jason
Dear Jason,
You must be feeling very stressed these days. I’m glad you wrote to me for help. However, you should keep calm and talk to your parents about the benefits of your hobby. I can see why your parents are against video-gaming—it was seen as a useless pastime (娱乐活动) back in the time when your parents were young. The best idea may be to tell them that it is good training for new tech jobs like being a video game developer or drone photographer. Also, it is a good way to have a rest after a long school day. Try pointing out real-life examples to them to support your idea. Meanwhile, you should also make sure your hobby doesn’t get in the way of your school performance.
As for your parents’ not allowing you to go out with your friends, it may be a good idea to open up to them about your private life. For example, you can get along well with them. This may help them change their mind. Meanwhile, show them you are a responsible person who understands their worries, and will not let them down. If you can do this, I don’t believe they will be so hard on you. Remember, you mustn’t lose your cool, as that would be immature (不成熟的).
Cheers!
Mrs. Wu
