All day long the Swallow ( 燕子) flew. At night-time he arrived at the city and saw a statue (雕像) on the tall stone. So he flew down and settled just between the feet of the Happy Prince.
Just as he was putting his head under his wings for sleep, a large drop of water fell on him. “How come?” he cried, “There is no cloud in the sky. The stars are quite bright.” Then another drop fell. “What is the use of a statue if it cannot keep the rain off?” he said, “I must look for somewhere else to stay,” and he decided to fly away.
But before he had opened his wings, a third drop fell. He looked up, and saw the eyes of the Happy Prince which were filled with tears, and tears were running down his golden cheeks. “Who are you?” the Swallow said.
“I am the Happy Prince.”
“Why are you weeping (哭泣) then?” asked the Swallow.
“When I was alive and had a human heart,” answered the statue, “Everything about me was so beautiful. I did not know what tears were, for I lived in Palace of Sans-Souci (无忧宫) where sadness is not allowed to enter. Around the palace ran a very high wall, and I thought life outside was the same as mine inside. People called me the Happy Prince, and I did live a happy life until I died. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) plays an important role in China’s medical field. Recently, a bakery run by a Yangzhou hospital has gained popularity by selling six flavors of TCM bread, with waiting time reaching as long as two hours. According to Zhao Wei from the hospital, their average daily sales are now around 4,000 servings. “Many young people prefer to improve their health through TCM. That’s why we put classical TCM into our bread recipes,” he added, “Each flavor costs about 10 yuan, and all the recipes we use are from an official list.”
One customer, Caicai, said the bread tasted like an ordinary milk bun with a little herbal (药草的) flavour. “I usually depend on TCM to regulate my overall health condition. So when I heard the hospital was selling this bread, I was so interested that I rushed to the bakery immediately,” said Caicai.
Nowadays, hospitals in Tianjin and Guizhou, as well as the famous TCM brand Tongrentang, are also selling similar bread products and winning the hearts of customers. As people are increasingly worried about their health, they are actively looking for healthy food to replace the unhealthy food. Therefore, TCM food is becoming a new trend (趋势) in China. More and more shops are now offering TCM ice cream and milk tea to attract young people.
Wang Yi, an expert from Beijing Guang’anmen Hospital, explained that such food is known as “yao shan”, a form of medicated diet. He said that as people focus more on health, medicated diets can help improve public health, prevent diseases and reduce health care costs.
However, Wang stated that consumers should consider their personal health conditions when using such products. The government must take action and set strict rules to ensure that this kind of food is safe for everyone.

B.Because it meets people’s need to improve their health.
C.Because new flavors can help make money for bakeries.
D.Because TCM is the most important in the medical field.
20.Which statement about medicated diets does Wang Yi support?
A.They are good for our health but require proper use.
B.They are used as business tools with little health value.
C.They can replace traditional medicine to prevent diseases.
D.They are suitable for everyone if they follow national rules.
21.What is the main purpose of the passage?
A.To give a review of a new social trend. B.To provide better choices for customers.
C.To advertise a new product to the public. D.To call for government rules and actions.

As artificial intelligence (AI) becomes more common in creative work, people are asking an important question: Is AI actually helping to improve human creativity, or might it be harming it? Recent studies show that the answer isn’t simple—AI helps in some ways but causes problems in others.
To understand how AI ideas influence human creativity, researchers did an experiment involving over 800 people from 40 countries. In the experiment, people were asked to think of new uses for common objects like a piece of paper or a cup. Before coming up with their own ideas, they were shown some example ideas. Some people were shown with the examples all given by humans while others were exposed to some or all the examples provided by AI. The goal was to see how these different situations would influence the creativity and variety (多样化) of the ideas people produced.
The experiment showed several interesting findings. First, viewing AI ideas did change what people created, but it didn’t make their ideas better—just different. Second, when the groups saw lots of AI examples, they came up with more kinds of ideas overall. This shows that AI can help the groups think of more diverse solutions when working together. Third, AI examples helped stop the groups from getting stuck (卡住) on the same ideas—instead, they continued to generate (生成) new and different ideas over time. Finally, self-confidence matters. People who saw themselves as very creative were less influenced by knowing whether an idea came from AI or human. Their belief in their own creativity seemed to protect them from being overly influenced by AI ideas.
However, there was also a worrying finding. When creative tasks became difficult, people were more likely to copy AI ideas more often. This suggests we might become too dependent on AI for challenging creative work.
So what do these mean to us? AI can be useful for helping groups generate more different kinds of ideas and avoid creativity blocks, but it doesn’t make each person more creative. This means we should have a balanced way—use AI as a helpful partner while still developing our own imagination and creative abilities. As AI continues to grow, learning to use it wisely will be an important skill for all of us.
22.What is true about the experiment according to Paragraph 2?
A.Not all the example ideas in it were provided by AI.
B.Common objects couldn’t be used to test creativity.
C.800 people viewed AI’s ideas before the experiment.
D.People needed to compare their own ideas with AI’s.
23.What does the word “diverse” in Paragraph 3 most probably mean?
A.Creative. B.Different. C.Strange. D.Acceptable.
24.According to the passage, what is a good example of using AI wisely?
A.Avoiding using AI in difficult situations.
B.Letting AI decide once we meet problems.
C.Believing in ourselves instead of trusting AI.
D.Asking AI for ideas but finishing the task on our own.
25.Which of the following is the best title for this passage?
A.The Harm of AI on Human Creativity
B.AI’s Role in Performing Creative Tasks
C.The Benefits of AI to Creative Thinking
D.The Influence of AI on Human Creativity

Hi, Tom,
Thanks for your message and I am glad that you wrote to me for ideas.
I remember when I was learning English, I felt uncomfortable about speaking. I could remember lots of words and knew grammar rules, but speaking was difficult. I now feel a lot more confident about speaking, so here are some ideas that I have taken from my own experience.
Don’t worry about making mistakes. Other people will still know your meaning and they probably won’t notice your mistakes.
Use every chance you get to speak. For example, it’s a good idea to use only English in class and not to speak to your classmates in your own language. At home, you should also try practicing new words and grammar learnt in class.
Think about extra speaking practice outside the classroom. You can join a conversation group, such as the chat groups in the study centre. They are free to join.
Practice speaking online. There are lots of websites where you can communicate with someone from all around the world.
I hope this helps you and please come to me if you have other problems.
Best wishes,
Eliza
54.How many suggestions does Eliza offer?
55.What is Tom’s problem when he is learning English?
56.If you are Tom,will you take Eliza’s suggestions? Why or why not?

Since I am dead, they set me up here so high that I can see all the sadness and darkness of my city. Though my heart is made of lead (铅), I can’t help weeping for my people.”

20.Which statement about medicated diets does Wang Yi support?
A.They are good for our health but require proper use.
B.They are used as business tools with little health value.
C.They can replace traditional medicine to prevent diseases.

21.What is the main purpose of the passage?

请认真阅读下面短文,用英语回答短文后的问题。
Hi, Tom,
Thanks for your message and I am glad that you wrote to me for ideas.
Best wishes,
Eliza

55.根据I now feel a lot more confident about speaking, so here are some ideas that I have taken from my own experience,可知,伊莱扎向汤姆介绍自己提高英语口语的方法,由此可推断,汤姆在英语口语学习上有困难,所以空格处填Tom has problems in speaking English。故答案为Tom has problems in speaking English.
56.如果我是汤姆,我会采纳伊莱扎的建议。因为我认为她的建议很有帮助,我想要试一下。或者如果我是汤姆,我不会采纳伊莱扎的建议。因为我有更好的提高口语的方法。所以空格处填Yes. I designed two activities. First, we shared touching stories about peace in class. Second, my team made a short film to show how young people can protect peace. Through this activity, I learned to cherish my happy life and became kinder. It also taught me how to deal with study pressure. I believe youth can make the world better.
