The Person I Admire Most
The person I admire most is Yuan Longping, known as the"Father of Hybrid Rice".Born in 1930,he spent
his whole life researching hybrid rice.He developed high-yield hybrid rice varieties, which solved the food
shortage problem for millions of people in China and even the world.
What moves me most is his perseverance and devotion.Despite countless failures,he never gave up his
research. His spirit teaches me that we should hold on to our dreams and work hard for them.He sets a great
example of how one person can make a huge difference to the world.

Paragraph 1:
Puzzled,Iasked her what was so surprising.Jane stared at me,her eyes widening, and explained that she had
never realized how much she was missing until she put on my glasses.Everything became clearer, and she could
see details she had never noticed before. It was as if a whole new world had opened up to her.I smiled because
that was exactly how I felt not long ago. From that moment on,I began to appreciate my glasses in a whole new
light.
Paragraph 2:
The following week,I was amazed to see that Jane was wearing a pair of glasses too."My vision has never
been perfect, but I've always been too embarrassed to admit it or to seek help.Your new glasses show me that I
need to get my eyes checked and wear glasses too,"she said sincerely.I had no idea that I could make such a
positive impact on my friend as she also gained the confidence to wear glasses. From this experience,I came to
know how we look when we wear glasses is not important:what matters most is what we can see when we wear
them

M:Tina,where are you off to?
W:Harbor Freight.I want to buy some bird food to invite birds to my backyard.
M:You and your brother are both such nature enthusiasts.I often see him camping in the park near our
community.Well,what got you into birding?
W:I watched a mystery drama in order to relieve work stress, and it inspired me.The detective in the drama
gains insights from birding to help spot even the smallest clues and solve cases.I think birding can also help
me observe details and reflect on what I've seen
M:So,what kind of birds have you seen so far?
W:I often see Northern Mockingbirds and Mourning Doves.Although Northern Cardinals are on the list of
the most common backyard birds,I rarely see them.
M:What do they look like?
W:Have you played the video game Angry Birds?Northern Cardinals look just like the character Red.
M:I think I've seen a few on the mountain nearby. How about going there this Sunday?
W:Deal!
