Rome can be pricey for travelers, which is why many choose to stay in a hostel(旅社). The hostels in Rome offer a bed in a dorm room for around $25 a night, and for that, you'll often get to stay in a central location (位置) with security and comfort
Yellow Hostel
If I had to make just one recommendation for where to stay in Rome, it would be Yellow Hostel. It's one of the bestrated hostels in the city, and for good reason. It's affordable, and it's got a fun atmosphere without being too noisy. As an added bonus, it's close to the main train station.
Hostel Alessandro Palace
If you love social hostels, this is the best hostel for you in Rome. Hostel Alessandro Palace is fun. Staff members hold plenty of bar events for guests like free shots, bar crawls and karaoke. There's also an area on the rooftop for hanging out with other travelers during the summer.
Youth Station Hostel
If you're looking for cleanliness and a modern hostel, look no further than Youth Station. It offers beautiful furnishings and beds. There are plenty of other benefits, too; it doesn't charge city tax; it has both air conditioning and a heater for the rooms; it also has free WiFi in every room.
Hotel and Hostel Des Artistes
Hotel and Hostel Des Artistes is located just a 10minute walk from the central city station and it's close to all of the city's main attractions. The staff is friendly and helpful, providing you with a map of the city when you arrive, and offering advice if you require some. However, you need to pay 2 euros a day for WiFi.

Have you ever heard the expression “when pigs fly” ? It is a saying people use to express that something is very unlikely to happen—as unlikely as pigs growing wings and flying like a bird! For example, a person who hates riding roller coasters (过山车) might tell a friend, “I'll go on that ride with you when pigs fly”.
Well, one pig in San Francisco may not be flying, but she is helping people relax before they fly in a plane.
LiLou is a small pig working at the San Francisco airport. She is a therapy (理疗) animal. That means she is calm and likes to be touched by humans. She and other therapy animals aim to help travelers who get nervous about flying in planes. She was trained by the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA).
This is LiLou's first week on the job as a member of the airport's “wag brigade”. She only works at the airport once a month, so not all travelers to the San Francisco airport will see her. But you might see some of her fellow therapy animals.
She works alongside a group of trained dogs. Their trainers walk around the airport with them. The animals wear signs that say “pet me” !
LiLou has been getting a lot of attention at the airport and on social media. One Twitter user said he made fun of the San Francisco airport's decision to provide a relaxing yoga room for travelers, but he “fully supports LiLou”.
Jennifer Henley is the manager of the SPCA's program. “It's wonderful to witness (看到) the surprise and delight that LiLou brings to people during therapy visits.” she said.

For Western designers, China and its rich culture have long been an inspiration for Western creative.
“It's no secret that China has always been a source (来源) of inspiration for designers,” says Amanda Hill, chief creative officer at A +E Networks, a global media company and home to some of the biggest fashion (时尚) shows.
Earlier this year, the China Through A Looking Glass exhibition in New York exhibited 140 pieces of Chinainspired fashionable clothing alongside Chinese works of art, with the aim of exploring the influence of Chinese aesthetics (美学) on Western fashion and how China has fueled the fashionable imagination for centuries. The exhibition had record attendance, showing that there is huge interest in Chinese influences.
“China is impossible to overlook,”says Hill. “Chinese models are the faces of beauty and fashion campaigns that sell dreams to women all over the world, which means Chinese women are not just consumers of fashion—they are central to its movement. ” Of course, not only are today's top Western designers being influenced by China—some of the best designers of contemporary fashion are themselves Chinese. “Vera Wang, Alexander Wang, Jason Wu are taking_on Galliano, Albaz, Marc Jacobs—and beating them hands down in design and sales,” adds Hill.
For Hill, it is impossible not to talk about China as the leading player when discussing fashion. “The most famous designers are Chinese, so are the models, and so are the consumers,” she says. “China is no longer just another market; in many senses it has become the market. If you talk about fashion today, you are talking about China—its influences, its direction, its breathtaking clothes, and how young designers and models are finally acknowledging that in many ways. ”

TianwenⅠ probe enters orbit around Mars
After nearly seven months in space. China's TianwenⅠ probe successfully entered the orbit around Mars on February 10. It marks the first time that a Chinese spacecraft has orbited an outsideearth planet TianwenⅠ consists of an orbiter. a lander and a sixwheeled rover carrying scientific instruments. A 3,000Newton engine was fired up at 7∶52 p.m. to slow down the spacecraft. After some 15 minutes, precise braking (刹) near Mars helped the probe succeed in entering the orbit around the Red Planet. That means TianwenⅠ has become China's first manmade satellite of Mars and achieved the first goal of its threestep mission—orbiting, landing and roving.
TianwenⅠ makes China the sixth country to ever reach Mars. It was launched by a long March5 carrier rocket, China's largest launch vehicle, on July 23,2020. The probe has flown 475 million kilometers and was 192 million kilometers away from: Earth when it reached the Mars orbit.
TianwenⅠ will now conduct several orbital corrections to enter a temporary, Mars “parking” orbit, looking for potential landing sites in preparation for a “touchdown” in May or June. The most challenging part of the mission will be the soft landing.
Chinese space engineers and scientists have chosen a relatively, flat region in the southern part of the Utopia Planitia, the largest plain on Mars, as the potential landing zone. The site was selected for its conditions for a safe landing and scientific research value. It has not been investigated by other countries yet, so the scientific data can be shared with the international community to enrich the world's understanding of the Red Planet.
After the landing, the rover will be set free to, conduct scientific exploration and it has an expected lifespan(使用期限) of at least 90 Martian days(about three months on Earth). The orbiter, with a design lifespan of one Martian year(about 687 days on Earth), will relay(接转) communications to and from the rover while carrying out its own scientific detection work. If China can succeed in orbiting, landing and roving with TianwenⅠ, it will take further challenges on the next Mars mission: collecting and bringing back samples from the surface.
TianwenⅠ means “Questions to Heaven” and comes from a poem written by Qu Yuan, One of the greatest poets of ancient China The name represents the Chinese nation's persistent determination in pursuing truth and science and exploring nature and the universe.

参考范文:
Dear Mr. Smith,
There will be an activity organized by our school and I want to invite you to join in it. We will go to a nearby village to visit some children whose parents have left them to earn money in cities. Gathering at the gate of our school, we will set out at 8 am next Sunday.
To my delight, we will have a chance to play games with the children and give away some gifts to them. We will stay there for a whole day, so it's necessary for you to bring some water and food. I hope you can join us and help the children together.
Yours,
Li Hua
第二节(满分 25分)
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
My 10yearold daughter and I were driving from Los Angeles to Dallas. We were running low on gas somewhere in New Mexico and figured we'd see a gas station soon enough to fill up.
But that didn't happen and we realized we were not going to make it to the next town. So my daughter made up a sign that read “Low on gas. Can u help?” and held it outside her window in the hope that a driver in the next lane would notice it and stop.
There weren't too many vehicles passing us at the time. It was a desolate (荒凉的) stretch of road and about 3:30 pm on a weekday. A suburban was driving along happily in the neighboring lane ahead of us. We caught up with it in the hope the driver would notice the sign.
An elderly gentleman was driving it and after a brief expression of confusion on his face, he seemed to have noticed the sign and slowed down to pull over. We pulled over right behind him.
He was friendly and was eager to help us. At first he thought we didn't have enough money to buy gas, so he offered to buy us gas at the next town Roswell that was about 10 miles away!! Awfully sweet of a stranger to offer that.
When we explained our difficulty of not having enough gas to get to Roswell, he said he was a ranch (牧场) hand that was returning home from work. His ranch was about 20 minutes away and they had a gas pump on there, so if we could give him 40 minutes, he would head back there, get a can of gasoline and fill up our tank for us.

参考范文:
It was a long wait. There not being any cell phone reception for either of us in the area, we were unable to get in touch with the gentleman. Feeling a little bit anxious, my daughter murmured, “Mom, will he head back again?” “Of course he will!” I tried to comfort her, though also wondering whether he would keep his promise. Just at that moment, in the distance appeared the familiar suburban. At the sight of it, we jumped up and down with joy, waving to him wildly. Sure enough, he was back with the can and promptly filled our tank.
Filled with gratitude, we decided to do something. I took out a 20dollar bill, handed it to him and expressed our sincere thanks. Unexpectedly, he refused to take the money for the gas, saying “What good is a man who cannot help another in need”. Deeply moved by all the gentleman did, I could say nothing but to hug him tightly, tears of appreciation welling up! Out of gratitude, my daughter suggested that we could take a photo with the gentleman. We kept the picture as a reminder to pass on kindness.
