Passage 2
新素材无人机的广泛应用 [2025邢台期末]In recent years,
drones (无人机) have become more and more popular. These
small flying machines are everywhere, from the park to the sky
above farms. But why are they so widely used?
One of the most common uses of the drone is for taking pictures and videos.
With a camera, it can fly up high and give us a whole new view of the world.
We can see beautiful sights, large cities, and even our own neighbourhoods
from the air.

Drones are also useful in agriculture. Farmers can use them to look at their
plants. By checking the health of the plants from the air, they can find
problems earlier. This helps save water and time, making farming much easier.
What’s more, drones play an important role in helping people who are in
danger. When disasters happen, like floods or earthquakes, drones can quickly
get to the area. They can look for people who are trapped (受困的) and send
back pictures, which helps rescue workers plan their work.
However, drones also bring some problems. If they are not in control,
they can be dangerous. For example, a drone might hit a plane or a jet plane,

which could cause a great disaster. One terrible accident happened once when the
drone pilot was flying when it hit a tree. The drone was falling into a
neighbour’s yard. A young child was playing there. Sadly, this little boy lost
his sight.
In conclusion, drones are amazing. They make our lives more convenient.
But as we enjoy the good things they bring, we also need to make rules to
use them safely.#1.6

the Nandagang Wetlands in Hebei Province has become home to over 300
oriental white storks (东方白鹳), a species under first-class national
protection. This number is three times that of the same period in 2023.
These birds, widely found in China, Japan and the Republic of Korea in

Only wetlands with clean pools, and little pieces of land with large quantities
of food and water can become their habitats.
This large, long-necked bird is about 120 cm in height. The feathers on
the body are mainly pure white. The wings are wide and long. All or part of the
head and upper neck may be featherless and brightly coloured.
Oriental white storks begin to leave their breeding (繁殖) places from late
September to early October, forming groups and travelling southward. Along the
way, it’s necessary to choose suitable places to rest, and in some places they
can rest for more than 40 days. They often gather in open areas like grasslands,
