Teaching Plan
I. Analysis of Teaching Material
This part is taken from Book3 of the new version textbook published by PEP. The theme of the section is “Talk about moral dilemmas” and “Talk about importance of kindness”.
This part will introduce what the definition of moral dilemmas is and that different choices will lead to different results in a moral dilemma, which aims at guiding students to understand the commonality and complexity of moral dilemmas in our daily life, reflect our own morals and carry on our excellent traditional morals and virtues like friendliness, hope, kindness, generosity, help, honesty, responsibility, courage and so on. So the clue of this unit: facing the moral dilemmas--- choose--- carry on the good morals and virtues(the importance of good morals and virtues).
Ⅱ. Analysis of Students
The students are from the 1st grade. Students have had the basic English skills like reading and writing. However, for the lack of listening and speaking training in their previous years, these students have difficulty in fulfilling a complete English-only class. Thanks to their interest in English and eagerness to learn more, based on proper activating tasks, they can still learn from this listening class. In the process of this part, students should understand the commonality and complexity of moral dilemmas in our daily life, reflect our own morals and carry on our excellent traditional morals and virtues
Ⅲ. Teaching Aims
1. Knowledge Aim
Students can understand definitions of moral dilemmas and carry on good morals and virtues.
2. Ability Aim
1) Students can judge the speakers’ attitudes and emotions by listening to what the speakers say, the tone and intonation of the speakers.
2) Students can talk about their opinions about a certain moral dilemma and the importance of good morals and virtues.
3. Emotion Aim
Students can understand the moral dilemmas in our daily life, and carry on our excellent traditional morals and virtues
IV. Teaching Important and Difficult Points
Important point:
1.Help the students understand the definition of “moral dilemma”
2.Guide students to judge the speaker’s attitudes by paying attention to the content,tone and intonation of the speaker.
3.Encourage students to express their views on specific moral dilemmas and tell moral dilemmas they have faced or heard in their daily life.
Difficult point:
1.Ask students to understand the general idea of the listening materials and the attitudes and emotions of the characters in the dialogue.
2.Guide students to tell stories about moral dilemmas they have experienced or heard about .

It is a situation in which you have two or more difficult to make. If you one,you might get in trouble for not choosing the other(s).
Step 2. While-listening
1.Listen to the conversation and complete the table to describe the moral dilemma that Jane is talking about.

Tips:
When you listen, you should pay attention not only to the words but also to How the speaker is talking.
If people strongly disagree with something, they might exaggerate their intonation.
If you hear people speaking very quickly or loudly, they may be excited or angry.
lf they speak slowly or stop often, they may be confused or not sure about what they are saying.
Step 3. Post-listening
