The world is full of tea drinkers. For many, they simply enjoy the taste. But new research suggests tea might help those who drink it live longer than those who do not.
Tea is known to contain helpful substances that can reduce inflammation (炎症). Past studies in China and Japan, where green tea is popular, have suggested several health benefits (好处). Now, scientists say black tea may show similar benefits.
Scientists from the United States National Cancer Institute carried out the study. They examined years of data gathered about the tea drinking behavior of almost 500,000 adults in Britain for as many as 14 years. Black tea is the most common kind of tea in Britain.
The study found that high tea intake (摄入)—two or more cups a day—was linked to a moderate benefit: a 9 to 13 percent lower risk of death from any cause than non-tea drinkers.
Tea contains different elements, including polyphenols (多酚). Experts at the U. S. National Institutes of Health say polyphenols are thought to be responsible for the health benefits that have traditionally been linked to tea, especially green tea.
Green tea is reported to improve mental ability, ease (缓解) digestive problems and head pain, and help people with weight loss. Green tea can also prevent people from getting heart disease and cancer.
21. Many people drink tea simply because they enjoy the taste.
22. Tea drinkers might live longer than those who don’t drink tea.
23. Green tea is popular in China and Korea.
24. In Britain, people don’t like black tea.

第二节(共15小题;每小题1分,满分15分)

A
What’s going to happen in the future? Will robots control our planet? Will computers become smarter than us? Not likely. But here are some things that scientists say are most likely to happen in 10 — 30 years from now, according to the BBC.
Bionic (仿生的) Eyes
They are no longer something, only in a science fiction movie. People who are blind may have a chance to see things clearly—by wearing bionic eyes.
A blind eye can no longer sense sight, but a bionic eye can use a camera to “see” the environment and send information to the mind. Now the bionic eye only allows patients to see lights and unclear shapes. A bionic eye with very clear pictures could be just in a few years away.
Digital Money
We used to pay with cash (现金) for everything we bought. Now we can use WeChat Pay or Alipay to shop. Money is spent without seeing it. That means we are already using digital money. People only need to take a mobile phone wherever they go. Using these ways is much easier than searching our pockets for change. It is also safer than carrying a lot of cash.
It is reported that people in Sweden completely stopped using cash last year, and the US might be the next.
Self-driving Cars
Unlike a human driver, a self-driving car won’t be influenced by a phone call, the radio or something outside the window. Sensors (探测器) and cameras on the car would allow it to follow the rules of the road strictly and keep a safe space from other cars. This would greatly make the number of road accidents smaller. You can even take a short rest while the car drives itself. In the future, driverless cars would be widely accepted.
26. Bionic eyes send information to the ________.
A. mind B. camera C. computer D. heart
27. Which of the following payments is NOT mentioned in this passage?
A. Cash. B. WeChat Pay. C. Alipay. D. Credit card.
28. From the report, we can learn some information about ________.
A. industry and farming B. traffic and journey
C. science and technology D. culture and art
29. Which of the following is TRUE according to the passage?
A. Bionic eyes only appear in the science fiction films.
B. The blind wearing bionic eyes may see clearly in the future.
C. Self-driving cars will be influenced by something outside.
D There will be no accidents at all if self-driving cars are used.
30. What can we infer from the passage?
A. There would be a number of self-driving cars on the road.
B. Robots would control the world.
C. The blind could use glasses to see things around.
D. We would live a hard life with digital money.

As we all know, sugar painting has a very long history. It always plays a necessary role in our childhood which is a traditional Chinese form of folk art, and it used hot, liquid sugar to create figures. This delicious snack was the most popular among the children in the past.
In and around the southwestern part of China, one can often find folk artists producing sugar paintings with liquid sugar along the streets, in the parks and around the schools.
The artists sit before a table on which there is a board in the middle. On the side of the table is another board painted with different kinds of pictures in a circle such as a dragon, bird, dog and so on.
After paying about 5 jiao, or 1 to 2 yuan, the customers, usually kids, can choose one from the pictures for the sugar painting artist to make with sugar.
Before painting, the painter cooks white sugar to get liquid sugar for sugar painting. Then, the liquid sugar falls down from a big spoon as a thin line onto the board and after a short while an “animal” appears. At last the painter puts a wooden stick on the painting and gives it to the customer. Most kids would be excited to see the sweet art shining in gold under the sun.
As a special art for producing pictures of sugar, sugar painting is very different from common painting. First, since the hot liquid sugar could be hard if it cools, the painter has to produce his/her work very quickly. So the painter has to draw a continuous line into a picture of an animal. To learn the whole thing, the painter has to do some practice of common painting in the first place.

29. Which of the following is TRUE according to the passage?
A. Bionic eyes only appear in the science fiction films.
B. The blind wearing bionic eyes may see clearly in the future.
C. Self-driving cars will be influenced by something outside.
D. There will be no accidents at all if self-driving cars are used.
