AI has made its way into almost every field, and according to Abta's latest Holiday Habits
report, the travel industry is no exception. The rate of people using AI to get some travel ideas has
doubled in the past 12 months,up to 8 percent from 4 percent.
The survey of 2,001 people also showed that younger generations are leading the way in using
AI.The largest age group is 25-to 34-year-olds,with 18 percent looking for travel ideas through
AI.That number drops to 13 percent for 18-to 24-year-olds.And only 3 percent of 55-to 64-year-
olds are using AI for holiday tips.
However,AI has not taken over just yet when it comes to researching trips,as Internet
searches (48 percent)and recommendations from friends and family (41 percent)still remain the
most common ways to choose where to go.In fact, people taking more traditional routes, such as
looking through holiday brochures(手册),still take up25 percent.
Abta says that aI will continue to grow when it comes to trip planning.Holidaymakers have
already shown a level of trust in AI for making travel decisions.43 percent people in the survey said
they would be confident to some degree in letting an AI tool plan their holiday, with this number
dropping to just 38 percent letting the tool book their trip for them.
Travel industry leaders state that AI will continue to be a big part of what customers do before
they make a travel decision.According to them,AI will greatly influence the travel industry, but
travellers still want to communicate with a travel company before booking trips.Travel companies
will not vanish anytime soon, because of that group of customers who think it's necessary to go in
and look someone in the eye when they're booking something

If you take a walk through a Pittsburgh city park, you might come across a group of goats(L
羊)eating poison ivy,one type of plants harmful to the ecosystem(生态系统).It is part of an
experiment(实验).
By eating a lot of plants, goats greatly cut down the plants that need to be treated with
herbicides().Herbicides are traditionally used to clear out unwanted plants. There is
glyphosate in many herbicides, which is reported to lead to cancer-a serious illness.Herbicides
can remain in the soil and on plants, and during rain, they are washed into streams and rivers,
further polluting the ecosystem.
There's a need for goats all across the U.S.,including California and New Mexico, where they help
in wildfire prevention.Goats are sure-footed,and they enjoy climbing up and getting to the plants
that are difficult for humans to clear away. They prefer woody plants, soft shoots and bushes(
M)compared with other plant-eaters,such as cows, who are happy with grasses and low-lying plants.
This makes goats perfect for clearing areas of high-grow ing woody plants that strengthen wildfires.
However, there are challenges in using goats.Their hairs are thin, which means they couldn't
work outside in cold winter.Goats can break seeds()of harmful plants down in their
stomachs,so they don't spread the plants they're eating, but this also makes them easy to suffer
from stomach illnesses.
But when you think about the bigger picture, these problems are just small. One good thing
that came from Pittsburgh's goat experiment was the public interest it received. After the experiment
finished, many other cities wanted to know how they could start a similar project.People,it turns
out, also like goats.Park visitors love seeing the goats at work.Their presence brings a lot of joy
and adds to the park experience!
32.Why are goats used in some city parks in the U.S.?
A.To study their eating habits.
B.To cut down the costs on herbicides.
C.To attract more tourists to the parks.
D.To deal with harmful plants in a natural way.
33.What can we infer about goats from paragraph 3?
A.They are no better at climbing than cows.
B.They prefer low-lying plants to woody bushes.
C.They help prevent wildfires by eating specific plants.
D.They are mainly raised in California and New Mexico

One possible version:
Dear Eric,
How are you lately? I'm writing to share something with you about the hiking activity of our class last week, whose theme was “Protect Plants and Animals Around Us”.
We hiked a nearby mountain on Saturday morning. Along the way, we put up some “Protect Wildlife” signs. Our teacher introduced local plants and animals to us, telling us how human activities can harm them and what we should do to protect them.
Through this activity, I've learned more about nature and realized small acts really matter. It has also strengthened my friendship with my classmates. Do you have similar activities? I'd love to hear.
Yours,
Li Hua
第二节(满分25分)
One possible version:
Hearing those words, Leo felt greatly encouraged. He forgot the pain in his right leg at once and looked at Coach Lisa with bright eyes. Every day after that, he trained harder than before. He practiced arm strokes hundreds of times until his shoulders ached, and kept trying kicking even when his leg felt weak. His mom cheered for him by the pool, and Coach Lisa always corrected his postures patiently. Leo never complained again—he knew the competition was his chance to prove he could do it. He even started to imagine himself swimming bravely in the pool, with everyone cheering for him.
The competition day soon came, and Leo appeared at the starting point confidently. He knew he was well prepared. When the gun rang, he jumped into the water and swam as hard as he could. His right leg still didn't move as smoothly as others, but he tried his best to push forward. The cheers from his family and Coach Lisa kept him going. Finally, he touched the finish line! Though he took third place, Leo raised his head proudly with tears of joy. Holding the medal, he realized he had not only shown everyone he could swim, but also found true freedom in the water—freedom from limits, freedom to chase his dreams.

Text 1
M: Mary, can I ride your bike now? I have a parttime job in the supermarket. But I am nearly late.
W: I’m sorry you can’t, Mike. Jim borrowed it in the morning. You can ask Tom for help.
M: OK.
Text 2
M: I’m so excited, because I’m going to watch the movie Green Book tonight.
W: I went to see it with my brother yesterday. He fell asleep, but I was deeply moved.
Text 3
W: I’ve been working since 7:30 a.m. Do you mind leaving early for lunch today?
M: How early? I told my boss I’d eat out around 11:30 a.m.
W: Would 30 minutes early be alright? It’s just for today!
Text 4
M: I’ll attend a speech next Wednesday. Let’s discuss this matter again at the Friday meeting.
W: But I’ll leave for London on Thursday afternoon. Maybe we can talk that morning.
M: Sounds great.
Text 5
W: It is my birthday this Saturday. I want to visit the museum that day. But tickets on weekends cost $70, which is $10 more than on weekdays!
M: Don’t worry. It’s 50% off on your birthday.
Text 6
W: It’s about two hours’ drive to St. Louis Airport. When do you suppose we should leave?
M: When are we supposed to be there?
W: Let me see. The plane will take off at 10:30 a.m., so we should get there before 10:00 a.m.
M: I think we had better set off at 7:00 a.m., when the roads are empty.
W: OK. When we arrive, we can spend some time having tea at the airport.
Text 7
M: Would you like to have dinner with me this evening, Betty?
W: Ah, that would be nice. Where will we go?
M: How about the Golden Dragon? It is very nice. Their food is always good—freshly prepared, and the people there are very friendly. It mainly serves Chinese food, but we can also have some Japanese and Korean food there. Will that be OK?
W: Well, what are the other choices?
M: Lorenzo is a nice Italian restaurant. Their seafood is very good. Or you could have a pizza if you prefer.
W: This one sounds more attractive.
Text 8
M: I’ve been learning French for some years. I’ve learned quite a lot of grammar and words. But when I went to France this summer, I couldn’t understand the French people at all. I’ve lost heart and even want to give it up.
W: How long have you been studying French?
M: About four years.
W: How exactly? Going to a language school or using the language learning websites?
M: I've been going to evening classes and I've watched quite a lot of BBC television programs.
W: They are very good. Did you buy the BBC book?
M: No, we use a different book in class.
W: I see. Learning a language is rather like learning to drive now. You couldn't learn to drive a car by sitting in a classroom or watching television. I think what you need is a lot of practice in using the language.
Text 9
M: So, Lisa, are you here to get your first pair of glasses?
W: Yes, that's correct. My right eye is fine, but I can't see very well out of my left eye.
M: How often do you look at a screen each day?
W: Well, I'm in a software company, so I spend all day looking at a computer screen.
M: What about your phone?
W: I look at that a lot, too. I read news and use social media on it.
M: We want to try to stop your eyesight from getting any worse, which means you need to start taking screen breaks often.
W: How often should I take them?
M: If you have been looking at a screen for 45 minutes, then take a 15minute break.
W: That's a long time in my work.
M: I'd suggest getting a coffee or going for a walk.
W: Okay, I will.
M: So what color of glasses would you like? These red ones are nice.
W: No, I'd like a white pair, please.
Text 10
M: Hello, everyone. Before tonight's news, let me tell you some changes to our programs. Sorry for those looking forward to Writers' World on our interview with Francis on how to get ideas for your next novel. We've had to put off this interview until next week because Francis is attending a book signing at a bookstore. Instead, we'll be talking with an expert about how you can post your next book on the Internet. On Thursday at 8:00 p.m., we have Sports Night as usual. Most of the football games last Saturday were called off because of the terrible weather, so there are no reports on those matches. But our experts will be looking forward to seeing this Saturday's matches and will guess the results as usual. And finally, our reporter Sally Williams will be in town next Friday morning. She'll be interviewing people for our weekly program Money Matters, starting from 10:00 p.m., not the usual 9:00 p.m. That's all for the changes.

64. 答案 and
