The results of the survey show that 17% of the students hardly ever practise speaking English. 45% of the students usually practise speaking English, and 38% of the students practise speaking English sometimes. How do you practise speaking English? Most students speak more only in class. Some of the students talk with friends in English. Some students practise speaking English in other ways.
In my opinion, we should talk with our partners in English as much as we can. I have benefited a lot from it. Also, we should often listen to English stories in order to improve our understanding about English. Never be afraid of speaking English in front of others! This is quite important. Over and above, we should learn more English words.
Only in this way, can we be good English speakers!

The Vieira family moved to the United States in 1981. At that time, they decided to stop speaking Spanish at home and only communicate in English. This was because they were then living in an English-speaking country.
Now the Vieira children are adults (成人), and they sometimes travel to Spain to visit their family and friends. But they cannot communicate with them. Unfortunately this is common. When people move to new countries, they often leave their own customs and mother languages behind. This is a mistake because there are many benefits (益处) to knowing more than one language.
One advantage of speaking more than one language is that you can communicate directly with more people around the world. You do not have to depend on others to talk for you, so you’re more independent. People who know only one language must ask others to help them communicate.
Furthermore, speaking a second language also allows people to experience other cultures and customs more effectively. Local expressions, vocabulary, and even jokes can have a powerful effect on a person’s understanding of another culture. So, knowing more than one language increases your knowledge of other cultures.
Finally, having more multi-language speakers improve relationships between countries. If people from different countries can communicate well, the world can become closer. Countries will then have more respect for each other and better understand each other’s problems.
The benefits of knowing more than one language are clear. In fact, there are no disadvantages. It is very sad that many people don’t try to learn another language. It is even worse when people let themselves forget their mother language and become silenced.

Many Chinese students find it difficult 46 learn English, but not Chinese, because Chinese is their mother language. In fact, Chinese is much more difficult to learn 47 English.
Still some students in other countries can speak Chinese very well. If you don’t see 48 , you may think they are Chinese. What makes them successful?
“For me, conversation is the most helpful. I try to speak in Chinese. If you only listen to what others speak, you will be good at listening. 49 if you talk as much as you can, you will find you can speak good Chinese,” says Jenny Brown, an English girl. Chinese is different 50 English, but we can use the same way in learning it. It is conversation.
46.to 47.than 48.them 49.But 50.from
find it difficult to do sth. 故填to。
根据“much more difficult to learn”可知,空处需用于比较级的标志词“than比”,用于两者比较。故填than。
根据“you may think they are Chinese.” 故填them。
故填But。
be different from表示“与……不同”,固定搭配。故填from。
