Soon enough,Martina received a decorated letter from her neighbors. As she opened it,she discovered that it
was 5 by the neighbor family's small kids.

and naughty. We started 6 to play the piano two weeks ago and our teacher told us to practice every day.But we
are really sorry for not considering the 7 of day and the weekends. We promise you and our mom to be more
considerate(考虑周到的).”
However, this letter wasn't the only apology these 8 neighbors sent over. They also included some treats
from their country!

Ⅱ.阅读第一节
卧室该乱还是该净?
DHearing a parent say "Tidy your room!"is not unusual.According to a UK survey, having a messy bedroom
is the third most common reason for a family argument. What do you think? Is it OK to have a messy bedroom?
2Some people believe having a messy room is okay for kids.A messy room is like a
teenagers'own little world. They can hang posters or leave clothes on the floor without someone
telling them "Clean up!"This space teaches them to make choices and feel free to be themselves.
Parents can help by staying out of the room.If the mess worries them, they can close the door.
Most teenagers have messy rooms because they're busy with friends, hobbies,or school. But they will probably grow
out of it and learn to be more organized.
3Also,some studies show that messiness can be a sign of creativity and it's more likely to free one's mind for
deep-thinking.Cleaning up the room is boring and time-wasting,and there are more meaningful things to do.
Anyway, the chances are that it will just get messy again!
4However,research shows that untidy environment can cause more stress and make it harder for teenagers to
focus on homework.Instead,a tidy room can make them happy and help them think more clearly while dealing with
difficult tasks in the room. What's more, one may knock something onto the floor by accident and break it in a messy
room. And it is unfair on the rest of the family if one of the rooms looks like a rubbish place-it is part of their home
too and we should respect that.In a word,a tidy room is nice for everyone and, best of all, means no arguments.

Ⅲ.阅读第三节
I live in a large city, and in recent years,I've noticed green roofs()becoming really popular. They're like
a bridge bringing nature closer to us in the city.
Green roofs are rooftops full of plants like grasses, flowers and small bushes. Many buildings, from office towers
to houses, now have green roofs. In Germany, some new buildings must have them.I joined a green roof project.I
was surprised to see neighbors of all ages and backgrounds taking part.Once,we planted tomatoes. We picked good
seeds, prepared the soil and planted them carefully. It was like a science experiment to see our seeds grow.
Taking care of green roofs needs teamwork. Some neighbors weeded ()while others watered the plants.
My friend and I built small fences to protect young plants from small animals. The work was tiring, especially on hot
summer days. However, chatting and laughing with neighbors made it fun.
However, green roofs have problems. It costs a lot to put them in at first, for things like making them
waterproof, getting the soil, and buying the plants. We also have to look after them regularly, watering, feeding, and
trimming().Plus,they're heavy,so buildings need to be really strong.
Even with these troubles,I think green roofs are great. Thanks to these experiences on green roofs,I've
developed a deeper sense of belonging in my neighborhood.Besides, they let me enjoy nature in the city and have a
greater love for nature
