When Qian Xuesen was 24 years old, he went to America for further study. After graduation, he worked in America for a few years. In America, his working conditions were better. In the early 1950s, Qian Xuesen heard New China had been founded and he decided not to stay in America any longer. He succeeded in coming back to the motherland in 1955 though the American government tried to stop him.
In 1956, Qian Xuesen suggested setting up a special organization, which later became the leading organization for China’s rocket and aerospace program. In June 1964, China successfully created its first medium rocket. Qian also played an important role in developing China’s first man-made satellite (卫星). On April 24th, 1970, Dongfanghong-1 was successfully sent into space.

With the deep love for the motherland, he helped to develop science and technology when the New China was just developing. He made a great contribution (贡献) to industry in the late 1950s and early 1960s when conditions in China were too hard.

①Does every dinner with your parents seem to turn into an argument (争吵)? Have your once warm conversations become cold? You are not alone. Heated arguments and cold silences are common between teenagers and their parents.
②Teenagers’ physical (身体的) changes may cause such family problems. You may feel worried that you are developing at a different speed to your friends, shooting up in height or getting left far behind. You might worry about your changing voice and weight problems. When it all gets too much, your parents are often the first goals of your anger.
③It can be a big headache to balance your developing mental (精神的) needs too. You enter a strange middle ground-no longer a small child but not quite an adult. You have both a new hope for independence and a continued need for your parents’ love and support. You feel ready to be more responsible and make decisions on your own. Unluckily, your parents do not always agree and that makes you feel unhappy. “Why can’t they just let me go?” You may wonder. On the other hand, when you are trying to control your feelings, you wish they could be more caring and patient—sometimes they forget that growing up is a hard ride. It can be difficult when your parents treat you like a child but expect you to act like an adult. All of this can lead to a breakdown in your relationship.
④ ▲ . The key to keeping the peace is regular (有规律的) and honest communication. When you disagree with your parents, take a minute to calm down and try to understand the situation from their point of view. Perhaps they have experienced something similar and do not want you to go through the same pain. After you have thought it through, explain your actions and feelings calmly, listen carefully, and address their concerns. Through this kind of healthy discussion, you will learn when to back down and when to ask your parents to relax their control.
⑤Just remember that it is normal to fight with the stress and that you and your parents can work together to improve your relationship. The good news is that this stormy time will not last. Everything will turn out all right in the end, and the changes and challenges of your teenage years will prepare you for adulthood.
23. The writer leads into the topic by ________.
A. listing numbers B. giving examples
C. asking questions D. telling stories
24. Which of the following can be the best to fill in ▲ in paragraph 4?
A. But how could it happen? B. When will it come to an end?
C. So who can help you get it out? D. So what can you do to solve it?
25. Which of the following is the structure (结构) of the passage?
A. B.
C. D.
26. The purpose of the passage is mainly ________.
A. to explain possible reasons of a difficult time
B. to describe family problems between teenagers and parents
C to introduce some ways to solve the family problems
D. to encourage teenagers to get through a difficult time

Qian Xuesen was born in December, 1911 in Shanghai. He is one of the greatest scientists in China. He is known as “the father of China’s space program” and “the king of the rocket (火箭)”.
When Qian Xuesen was 24 years old, he went to America for further study. After graduation, he worked in America for a few years. In America, his working conditions were better. In the early 1950s, Qian Xuesen heard New China had been founded and he decided not to stay in America any longer.
