Today, our school focused on lab safety. It was really eye-opening!
First, our science teacher talked about the rules. She said before entering the lab, we must put on lab coats and goggles(护目镜). No running or playing around—lab is not a playground! Also, we should never touch chemicals or equipment without the teacher’s permission(许可).
Then, we had a little “accident drill”. We pretended a beaker(烧杯) broke and some liquid spilled(洒出). We learned to tell the teacher at once and use the special spill emergency bag. It’s important not to panic(恐慌).

Next, we learned to use Bunsen burners(本生灯) safely. The teacher showed us how to light them—close the air hole first, light the match, then open the air hole slowly. And we must never leave a burning burner alone.

These lab safety activities made me know how to protect myself. Labs are cool, but safety comes first!
