If you take the subway in Xi’an, Shaanxi, you may see a girl performing Qinqiang Opera on screen. The girl is China’s first virtual figure (虚拟人物) performing Qinqiang Opera—Qin Xiaoya.
Qinqiang Opera, with a long history, is popular mainly in Northwest China. Thanks to Qin Xiaoya, the traditional art takes on a new look.

Yang Zhenning is one of the greatest scientists who studied physics. He was born in 1922 and passed away in Beijing on October 18, 2025.
Yang had a strong love for science and showed great talents. As a young man, he studied hard and in 1945, he went to the US for further education. In 1957, he won the Nobel Prize in Physics with his partner Li Zhengdao. They were the first Chinese scientists to get this important prize.
Yang also developed another important theory called the Yang-Mills Theory (杨-米尔斯理论). This work helped other scientists understand more about physics.
As a scientist born in China he loved his motherland very much and wanted to help his country. He also raised money to help Chinese scholars (学者) to study in foreign countries. He helped build relationships between Chinese and American scientists.
