[2025合肥蜀山区一模]Flying cars first appeared through science fiction(科幻小说) in the early 1900s.Today,hundreds of companies are working to make flying cars a reality.
“Building flying cars is about more than just bringing science fiction to life. It’s about using more of the space to get people where they need to go,1题” says engineer Xiaosong Du.“Imagine a world where you could beat rush-hour traffic by simply lifting off the ground and flying over the other drivers. This could be especially useful as the world’s population continues to grow.”
Even though some companies plan to sell their cars sooner, flying cars probably won’t be common for 10 or 20 years,Du says. One of the biggest barriers(障碍) is the price. The company Alef Aeronautics, for example, plans to sell personal cars that can drive on roads and take off into the skies. When they go into production as early as next year, the cars will likely cost around $300,000 each.2题
Besides, flying cars need to be tested over and over again. And the government will need to create rules for flying cars.Rules of the road aren’t enough.Flying cars will need rules of the sky.“You don’t want the cars falling on top of other people and hurting them,” Du says.
Powering flying cars is another barrier. That’s what researchers like Du are trying to improve before flying cars hit the market.
