1. Show some pictures of schools and students in poor areas to guide students to think about the importance of education.

1. Introduction to Simple Past Tense
Explain:
Simple Past Tense describes actions that finished in the past (e.g., last year, yesterday).
Compare with Simple Present Tense (actions happening now or regularly).
Examples from the textbook (Unit 2, Exercise 3): “Last year, I wanted to give up my studies.” (Past)
“She often visits her students.”*(Present)
2. Verb Forms
Regular Verbs:
Add-ed (e.g., visit→visited, want→wanted.
Irregular Verbs:Memorize changes
(e.g., go→went, have→had).
Students finish exercises which are related to the simple past tense. Pay attention to the parts in yellow ,then rewrite the sentences(Page 21-3)
Students master the key points by make sentences.
Teacher explain the key points through the text.
