三、阅读理解 (共15小题;每小题1分,满分15分)
“Your personality has three different layers (层),” says Robyn Fivush, a psychologist at Emory University.
First, there are your most basic personality traits (特征), including how open you are to new experiences, and whether you like to be with other people or prefer to be alone, and how stressed out you get in challenging situations. Your basic traits are pretty obvious (明显的) even when you’re a baby. “Some babies are a little bit fussier or a little bit more active or a little bit more smiley. Those can develop into more stable personality traits,” Fivush says. “They stay pretty much the same as you grow up.”
The next layer of your personality is your experiences. If your family is loving and responsive when you’re a baby, that teaches you “the world is a safe and trusting place, I’m going to be OK, my needs are going to be met, and if anything bad happens, I have people to take care of me,” Fivush says. That feeling of trust and security lasts for your whole life, and it tends to make you more confident and capable of dealing with difficulties when you are an adult.
“The third layer is the stories you tell about yourself,” Fivush says. “We all tell stories about our lives, both to ourselves and to other people. Those stories give meaning to your experiences. They can be stories about your own life—like how much you loved your science teacher, what a great time you had when she helped you with your science fair project, and how that made you want to be a scientist. But your family’s stories are equally important.” Knowing about how your parents met, or what your grandmother’s childhood was like, helps you see where you come from. And talking with your family about both the happy and sad times you’ve experienced can help you understand those events more clearly and learn different ways to deal with challenges. Family stories don’t just teach you who you are—they help you figure out who you want to be.
26.According to the passage, which of the following is one of a person’s most basic personality traits?
A.Growing up in a wealthy family. B.Being open to new experiences.
C.Sharing family stories with teachers. D.Understanding events in an easy way.
27.What will a man most probably be like if he grows up in a loving family?
A.Confident. B.Generous. C.Honest. D.Helpful.
28.Why are family stories important?
A.Because they can make your dream come true.
B.Because they can make you feel happy and relaxed.
C.Because they can help you understand who you want to be.
D.Because they can help you deal with any difficulties you meet.
【答案】26.B 27.A 28.C

① Workers in Canada have made an exciting discovery. Machine operator Shawn Funk was digging through the earth when he noticed something much harder than the rock around it. “ It was definitely nothing we had ever seen before,” said Funk.
② A local museum now displays Funk’s discovery. It looks like a piece of art, but it’s not. It’s a fossilized (石化的) dinosaur—one of the most amazing ever found!
③ After 110 million years underground, it has turned to stone, from its snout (长鼻子) to its hips. Armor (硬壳) covers its neck and back. Two 50-centimeter spikes stick out from its shoulders. Fossilized skin and scales (鳞) cover its body. Caleb Brown, a researcher at the museum, is amazed by the quality of the fossil (化石). “We don’t just have a skeleton (骨架). We have a dinosaur as it would have been.”
④ For paleontologists, a find like this is very rare. Usually, only the bones and teeth are preserved—softer parts like the skin and scales rarely get fossilized. The dinosaur is so well preserved (保护) it even has a little bit of its original color. But why is this dinosaur fossil so different? Scientists have a theory.
⑤ They think that the dinosaur’s carcass was carried into a river by a flood. It reached the sea, and after a week or so, the carcass sank to the ocean floor. Mud covered it and entered its skin, armor, and bones. After millions of years, this made the creature’s body stonelike.
⑥ Scientists have studied the fossil carefully, but it will take years to learn all its secrets. Its bones, for example, are under its skin and armor, and paleontologists need to find a way to reach them without destroying (毁坏) its body. In some ways, this dinosaur is almost too well preserved!
29.Why does the writer say the dinosaur looks like a piece of art?
A.It is colorful. B.It has unique color patterns.
C.It is fossilized. D.It is well preserved.
30.Where is the best place for the following sentence?
“It also ensured that the dinosaur kept its shape.”
A.At the end of Paragraph 3. B.At the end of Paragraph 4.
C.At the end of Paragraph 5. D.At the end of Paragraph 6.
31.Why will it take years to fully study the fossil?
A.Scientists don’t want to destroy it. B.Scientists don’t have enough tools.
C.Its armor is very tough. D.It is large and heavy.
【答案】29.D 30.C 31.A
【导语】本文是一篇说明文。文章主要介绍了一块保存得非常完整的恐龙化石。
29.推理判断题。根据第三段“it has turned to stone, from its snout (长鼻子) to its hips. Armor (硬壳) covers its neck and back. Two 50-centimeter spikes stick out from its shoulders. Fossilized skin and scales (鳞) cover its body. Caleb Brown, a researcher at the museum, is amazed by the quality of the fossil (化石).”以及第四段“Usually, only the bones and teeth are preserved—softer parts like the skin and scales rarely get fossilized. The dinosaur is so well preserved (保护) it even has a little bit of its original color.”
根据第五段“They think that the dinosaur’s carcass was… armor, and bones. After millions of years, this made the creature’s body stonelike.他们认为,这只恐龙的尸体是被洪水冲入河流的。它最终到达海洋,大约一周后,尸体沉入海底。泥浆覆盖了它,并渗入其皮肤、甲壳和骨骼中。经过数百万年,这使得生物的遗体变得像石头一样。”可知,此段介绍了恐龙化石保存完整的原因,所给句子“这也确保了恐龙保持它原来的形状。”应放在此段最后。故选C。
31.细节理解题。根据最后一段“Its bones, for example, are under its skin and armor, and paleontologists need to find a way to reach them without destroying its body.例如,它的骨骼位于皮肤和盔甲之下,古生物学家需要找到一种方法,在不破坏其身体的情况下接触到这些骨骼。”可知,要花数年时间才能对化石进行全面研究,因为古生物学家不想毁坏它。故选A。
In many families today, teenagers’ schedules are fully managed by parents—from homework deadlines to weekend activities. While well-intentioned, this over-involvement may hinder the development of personal responsibility, experts warn. “Responsibility isn’t just completing tasks,” says Dr. Lin Mei, a youth psychologist. “It’s about making choices, facing consequences, and learning from mistakes. If adults always step in to fix things, teens never build resilience.”
Recognizing this, several schools in Changzhou have introduced “Autonomy Projects.” In one program, ninth-graders design and run a mini-community service initiative—such as organizing a neighborhood e-waste collection drive or tutoring younger students in math. They must plan budgets, assign roles, and solve unexpected problems, all with minimal teacher intervention.
“The goal is to shift from ‘What should I do?’ to ‘What do I choose to do?’” explains Mr. Huang, a coordinator. “Failure is allowed—even encouraged—as long as they reflect and adapt.”
Initial results are promising. Teachers report increased initiative and problem-solving skills. Parents notice their children taking more ownership of chores and time management. “My son used to forget his P.E. kit every Monday,” said Mrs. Xu. “Now he prepares it Sunday night—without being reminded.”
Dr. Lin emphasizes that responsibility fosters long-term confidence. “A teen who learns to own their decisions at 15 won’t be overwhelmed by adult life at 25,” she says. “Independence isn’t given—it’s practiced.”
32.According to Dr. Lin, what is a key element of true responsibility?
A.Following parents’ instructions carefully.
B.Avoiding mistakes at all costs.
C.Learning from one’s own decisions.
D.Completing assigned chores quickly.
33.What do students do in the “Autonomy Projects”?
A.Manage real-life community tasks.
B.Compete in academic exams.
C.Write essays about famous leaders.
D.Attend extra tutoring classes.
34.What change did Mrs. Xu observe in her son?
A.He became more interested in sports.
B.He started reminding her about chores.
C.He took initiative without prompts.
D.He refused to do homework alone.
35.What is the author’s main purpose in writing this passage?
A.To criticize modern parenting styles.
B.To promote a new school curriculum.
C.To compare Chinese and Western education.
D.To argue that responsibility must be practiced early.

Should Teenagers Rely on Smart Devices?
Smart devices bring great convenience to teenagers. They help finish homework quickly and provide easy access to information.
However, over-reliance causes problems. It weakens independent thinking and reduces problem-solving skills. Some students even copy answers directly, hurting their learning.

A.Following parents’ instructions carefully.

A.To criticize modern parenting styles.
