Let's practice these question and answer pairs. Number 1: "Who's this?" "This is my mother." Number 2: "Who's he?" "He's my father." Remember to use "this" for singular and "these" for plural when the person is close.

First, personal pronouns. Remember, the subject pronouns are what the sentence is about. For example, "I am a student." "He plays football." The object pronouns receive the action. For example, "My mother loves me." "I know him."

Grammar Focus: The Simple Present Tense
用法 (Usage)
经常性或习惯性的动作。
(He gets up at 7 a.m. every day.)
现在的状态或特征。
(She is a teacher.)
客观真理。
(The earth goes around the sun.)
动词第三人称单数变化
一般情况:加 -s
(play -> plays)

Next, the simple present tense. We use it for things that happen regularly, for facts, or for how things are now. The most important rule is for the third person singular (he, she, it). We add "-s" or "-es" to the verb. For example, "I like apples." but "She likes apples."
