)

1. This project will select 10 visual artists and 10 writers to create artwork that will be displayed on temporary signs along the multi - use path.
This project will select 10 visual artists and 10 writers,是主谓宾结构。to create artwork是不定式短语作目的状语,that will be displayed on temporary signs along the multi - use path是定语从句,修饰先行词artwork,在这个定语从句中,that作主语,will be displayed是谓语,on temporary signs along the multi - use path是地点状语。
2. Submissions may be from existing or newly created work, and the City of Burlington will pay for all costs related to the production, installation and maintenance of the signs.
Submissions may be from existing or newly created work是主系表结构,Submissions是主语,may be是系动词,from existing or newly created work是表语;后一个分句the City of Burlington will pay for all costs related to the production, installation and maintenance of the signs中,the City of Burlington是主语,will pay for是谓语,all costs是宾语,related to the production, installation and maintenance of the signs是后置定语,修饰costs。

Tips for Great Photos
To take great nature and wildlife photos, take some tips from two experts: Pat Leeson and Matt Poole. Leeson’s photos have been adopted by National Geographic magazine and several wildlife books. Poole, visitor services manager at Parker River National WildlifeRefuge in Massachusetts, has taught wildlife photography in West Virginia.
·Aim for feelings. “Any image that expresses a feeling you want to save as a memory is a good photo for you,” says Leeson. “If you can get a photo that brings out the same feeling in others, then you have a classic.”
·Reduce background noise. Look out for a telephone pole growing out of the head of whatever it is you’ re photographing. Find an angle where you can remove things that distract your eye.
·Start early; stay late. “When the sun is low,” — soon after sunrise and just before sunset — “the color of light tends to be a lot warmer,” says Poole. “It’s often called the golden light or magic light.” Midday is not a great time for photos because the overhead sun creates strong shadows.
·Aim to be first. Being first on the scene “increases the familiarity with the place,” says Leeson. There’s a practical benefit, too. “If you’ re shooting insects like butterflies,” says Poole, “you’ll be a whole lot more effective if you start early when it’s still relatively cool and when insects, because they’ re cold-blooded, are still relatively inactive.”
· Steady the camera. “Having a stable camera is everything,” says Poole, “which is why we always suggest that people use tripods (三脚架).” Resting the camera lens on your car’s door frame and shooting from inside your stopped car also works well. Plus, cars scare animals less than humans do.
1.What is Pat Leeson’s advice for taking photos?
A.Aiming to capture a feeling.
B.Capturing as many photos as possible.
C.Using advanced equipment for clearer images.
D.Focusing on technical aspects of photography.
2.Why is it better to take photos early or late in the day?
A.It is easier to find wildlife. B.The weather is typically clearer.
C.The light creates better contrast. D.The sun creates warmer light.
3.Why might shooting from inside a car be effective for wildlife photography?
A.The car creates better lighting.
B.The car reduces shadows in the photo.
C.The car allows for more flexibility in movement.
D.The car is less likely to frighten animals compared to human beings.
【答案】1.A 2.D 3.D
根据第二段中““Any image that expresses a feeling you want to save as a memory is a good photo for you,” says Leeson. “If you can get a photo that brings out the same feeling in others, then you have a classic.”(“任何能表达出你想珍藏的情感、留存为记忆的图像,对你来说就是一张好照片,”Leeson说道,“如果你能拍出一张同样能唤起他人共鸣的照片,那你就拥有了一幅经典之作。”)” 故选A项。
根据第四段中““When the sun is low,” — soon after sunrise and just before sunset — “the color of light tends to be a lot warmer,” says Poole.(普尔说:“当太阳很低的时候——日出后不久和日落前——光的颜色往往会更温暖。”)”
根据最后一段中“Resting the camera lens on your car’s door frame and shooting from inside your stopped car also works well. Plus, cars scare animals less than humans do.(把相机镜头放在车门框上,从停着的车内拍摄效果也很好。

)
