They took her to hospital. →She was taken to hospital(by them).
I painted the walls yellow. →The walls were painted yellow(by me).
He was born in 1986.
What is this flower called?
He answered me that question.
→I was answered that question by him.
He wrote her a letter.
→A letter was written to her.
She made him a new coat.
→A new coat was made for him.
He gave her some money.
→She was given some money. /Some money was given to her.
He bought her a watch.
→A watch was bought for her. /She was bought a watch
English is taught in most schools.
We are given a lot of homework to do.
We are taken good care of at school.
He was taken to the police station.
She was asked to sing a song.
A new building will be built here soon.
Some of us will be asked to speak at the meeting.
4. 现在完成时的被动语态: have/has been+过去分词。如:
All the tickets have been sold out.
Many experts have been called in for advice.
He said the work had been finished.
6. 现在进行时的被动语态: am [is, are]being+过去分词、如:
My watch is being repaired by him.
The plan is now being discussed.
He said that the man was being operated on.
It was the first time he had been bitten by a dog.
He said that the meeting would be held next week.
Everyone must know this. →This must be known by everyone.
This can't be done in a short time.
Can this be done by machine?
The work must be done at once.
He needs to be taken care of.
There are a lot of things to be done.
Surely she was to be trusted.
I saw her being taken to the operating room.
The building being repaired is our library.
She enjoyed being praised.
He was afraid of being laughed at.
The door remained locked.
A fire broke out during the night. (不能说was broken out) Soon it disappeared. (不能说was disappeared)
My shoes don't fit me.
The hall holds 1000 people.
That dress suits you.
We should help each other.
He could see himself in the mirror.
The school looks beautiful.
Your idea sounds a good one.
The door won't shut.
The box can't open.
The window won't shut.
The window won't be shut.
Suddenly the door opened.
The door was suddenly opened.
The cloth washes well.
The book sells quickly.
This shirt will wear very long.
The sentences read clearly.
The sentences are read clearly.
The vegetables are cooking.
Is the book selling well?
When does the concert begin?
The play ended at ten o'clock.
(5)有的动词本身含有被动意味,通常用主动形式来表示被动意义。如;
My skirt caught on a nail.
Soon the house filled with people.
The question is difficult to answer.
Your writing is impossible to read.
Do you think the water is safe to drink?
I have some letters to write.
I want something to drink.
I want to get something to read.
I have something to type.
I have something to be typed.
There is too much work to do [to be done].
There is nothing to do.
There is nothing to be done.
(4)be worth
The film is worth seeing.
The machine is not worth repairing.
The child needs looking after.
My hair wants cutting.
The child needs to be looked after.
My hair wants to be cut.
It is said that he has a lot of money.
It was reported that he had died in the war.
It's believed that he has left the city.
It's expected that the war would end soon.
