Jay Kelly, Nov. 14 Director Noah Baumbach has surrounded George Clooney’s title character with some heavyweight supporting talent — Laura Dern, Billy Crudup, Adam Sandler and Patrick Wilson among others — but the film is all Clooney’s from start to finish. It’s about a movie star in his 60s who’s suave, relaxed, always seems to be playing himself, and gives off a definite Cary Grant vibe —who is, in short, a lot like George Clooney. — Bob Mondello The Woman in Cabin 10, Oct. 10 Keira Knightley stars in the Netflix adaptation of Ruth Ware’s thriller about a travel writer who finds herself trapped on a fancy yacht where something is very wrong. The movie’s official logline reads: “When their evil enemy resurfaces after 16 years, a group of ex-revolutionaries reunites to rescue one of their own daughters.” It stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Teyana Taylor and Regina Hall I don’t need any more convincing. 根据文章第3段“Keira Knightley stars in the Netflix adaptation of Ruth Ware’s thriller about a travel writer who finds herself trapped on a fancy yacht where something is very wrong. (凯拉·奈特莉主演了Netflix改编自露丝·韦尔惊悚小说的电影,讲述一位旅行作家被困在一艘豪华游艇上的离奇事件。)”可知,The Woman in Cabin 10是惊悚题材,因此如果你是惊悚片爱好者 ,应该选择这部电影,故选B。 【2题详解】 细节理解题。根据Nuremberg部分的“This drama is based on Jack El-Hai’s nonfiction book The Nazi and the Psychiatrist. (这部剧是根据杰克·埃尔-海伊的同名非虚构作品《纳粹与精神病医生》改编而成的。)”可知,Nuremberg改编自Jack El-Hai的非虚构书籍The Nazi and the Psychiatrist和根据One Battle After Another部分的“Paul Thomas Anderson loosely adapts another Thomas Pynchon novel; this time it’s Vineland. (保罗·托马斯·安德森对托马斯·品钦的另一部小说进行了大致改编;这次改编的内容是《维尼兰德》。)”可知,两者的共同点为基于书籍改编,故选B。 【3题详解】 推理判断题。根据第一段内容“The weather’s turning cooler, back-to-school shopping’s all done and, sure, you could rake the leaves, but wouldn’t it be more fun to escape to your local cinema? (天气逐渐变凉了,开学前的购物活动也已经结束。当然,你可以去清理落叶,但去当地的电影院放松一下难道不会更有趣些吗?)”可知,文章首段以秋季活动为背景引出影院推荐,后文依次介绍四部电影的上映时间、剧情及亮点,因此推断文章的目的是为读者推荐秋季档电影。故选C。 An 82-year-old Chinese female pilot has set a record in the country’s airline industry after flying a small plane for 40 minutes in Beijing. Miao Xiaohong, one of China’s second batch of female pilots, controlled the Tecnam P2010 plane to take off, turn, climb, dive and land safely at the Shifosi Airport in Pinggu District of Beijing. In 1956, Miao Xiaohong, who graduated from a high school in Jinan, won a position in the second batch. She graduated from the flight school in 1958. In the following years, she flew many important missions. In 1963, she undertook a mission to airdrop materials for the flood-stricken areas in Hebei Province. Poor visibility prevented her from locating the target areas as the clouds were about 100 meters above the ground, but she managed to finish the task. In 1989, she retired and started her writing career. When she collected materials for her books, she found that many aged pilots in other countries still flew, so she had the idea to return to the sky. To prepare for the flight, she walked 3,000 steps every day and moved her arms to meet the requirements for high-altitude flight during the past two months. Different from past flights for missions, this time her goal was to enjoy the flight. She said that it was exciting and fresh. “Seeing the boundless blue sky unfold in front of me, I feel it is very open,” she said. The trainer said that Miao Xiaohong could finish 30 hours of flight to get a license for commercial flight. She said, “My physical condition is good enough to finish the 30-hour flight, but it is not so important for me to get such a license. After achieving my dream of returning to the sky, I hope to encourage young women to join the airline industry. I’m 82 years old and I can fly again. You, the young people, can fly and will fly better than me.” 4. What challenge did Miao Xiaohong face during the airdrop mission? A. Lack of enough materials. B. No access to the struck areas. C. Poor visibility caused by thick clouds. D. Shortage of good eyesight to spot the targets. 5. What made Miao Xiaohong have the idea of flying a plane at the age of 82? A. Her deep love for flight. B. The influence of other aged pilots. C. The requirements of her books. D. Her wish to break a flying record. 6. Which words can best describe Miao Xiaohong? A. Devoted and humble. B. Courageous and honest. C. Determined and inspiring. D. Optimistic and outgoing. 7. What might be the best title for the passage? A. Returning to the Blue Sky. B. Coming to Join in the Flight. C. Managing to Finish Difficult Tasks. D. Improving Yourself to Set a Record. C 5. B 6. C 7. 根据第二段最后一句“Poor visibility prevented her locating the target areas as the clouds were about 100 meters above the ground, but she managed to finish the task. (由于云层距地面约100米,能见度差使她无法定位目标区域,但她仍成功完成了任务)”可知,苗晓红在空投任务中面临的核心挑战是厚厚的云层导致能见度不足。故选C。 【5题详解】 细节理解题。根据第三段“When she collected materials for her books, she found that many aged pilots in other countries still flew, so she had the idea to return to the sky. (在为自己的书籍收集资料时,她发现其他国家许多年长的飞行员仍在飞行,因此萌生了重返蓝天的想法)”可知,其他国家老年飞行员的持续飞行经历,是苗晓红82岁决定再次飞行的直接诱因。故选B。 【6题详解】 推理判断题。根据第一段“An 82-year-old Chinese female pilot has set a record in the country’s airline industry after flying a small plane for 40 minutes in Beijing. (一名82岁的中国女飞行员在北京驾驶一架小型飞机飞行了40分钟,创下了中国航空业的纪录)”、最后一段“I hope to encourage young women to join the airline industry. I’m 82 years old and I can fly again. You, the young people, can fly and will fly better than me. 根据最后一段“achieving my dream of returning to the sky (实现重返天空的梦想)”可知,“Returning to the Blue Sky (重返蓝天)”既概括了核心事件,又承载了其对飞行的执着,是全文主旨的最佳提炼,最适合作为文章标题。故选A。 Mini suits, pants, hanfu, Victorian dresses — these aren’t children’s clothes nor costumes, but “doll outfits” that young Chinese adults collect for their figurines (手办). From Disney’s LinaBell to Pop Mart’s Labubu, each popular character has become a fashion icon, igniting what consumers now call the “doll-dress economy”. Once a niche hobby, the trend is booming into a strong direction of youth consumption. Labubu, part of Pop Mart International Group’s blind-box celebrity characters, has become a breakout success across China and around the world. Known for their “unboxing surprise” appeal, the characters have caused a spin-off (衍生品) industry in miniature fashion — knit headbands a few centimetres wide, denim jackets just a handspan long, and even tiny leather backpacks. Fans have curated closets to personalize their figures, often treating them as companions. Search “Labubu doll clothes” on major e-commerce platforms and thousands of shops pop up. Basics such as plaid skirts or hoodies go for 16-40 yuan ($2-5), mid-tier embroidered hanfu or lined coats are sold for 100-200 yuan, while high-end limited pieces or replicas of celebrity costumes can exceed 200 yuan. Collectors willingly pay for scarcity and exclusivity. For Sharon Han, a 30-year-old office worker in Beijing, doll fashion is about more than clothing the mini companions. “Dressing them and caring for them gives me a sense of ownership,” she said. “They can even match my bags and my dressing styles.” The surge reflects the power of “emotional value”. “Doll clothes embody this — they’re stress-relief toys, social icebreakers and emotional anchors,” Han said, adding that she quickly finds community through her hobby. Behind the craze is the country’s flexible supply chain, capacity in churning out rapid, small-batch customization (定制). That makes doll fashion a new growth means for traditional clothes firms stuck in cruel competition. 8. What does the underlined word “igniting” in paragraph 2 most probably mean? A. Possessing. B. Postponing. C. Stimulating. D. Changing. 9. According to the passage, which type of Labubu doll clothing is likely to be the most expensive? A. A rare, limited-edition jacket. B. A mass-produced pair of jeans. C. A common hoodie with a popular character print. D. An embroidered hanfu from the mid-tier collection. 10. From what Sharon Han says, the main driving force behind the “doll-dress economy” is ________. A. The low price and high quality of the doll clothes. B. The emotional value that the hobby provides to owners. C. The successful marketing strategies of companies like Disney. D. The desire of people to show off their wealth through collections. 11. What can be inferred from the last paragraph? A. The supply chain for doll clothes is slow and inefficient. B. The doll clothes industry is facing cutthroat competition. C. Traditional clothes firms are unwilling to produce doll clothes. D. The trend benefits from and also fuels China’s manufacturing capabilities. C 9. A 10. B 11. 根据第二段“From Disney’s LinaBell to Pop Mart’s Labubu, each popular character has become a fashion icon, igniting what consumers now call the ‘doll-dress economy’. Once a niche hobby, the trend is booming into a strong direction of youth consumption. (从迪士尼的玲娜贝儿到泡泡玛特的拉布布,每个热门角色都成了时尚偶像,_____如今消费者口中的 ‘娃娃衣经济’。这一爱好曾是小众消遣,如今却蓬勃发展,成为青少年消费的一大重要方向。)”可知,热门的娃娃角色成为时尚偶像,成为青少年的重要消费趋势,激起了“娃娃衣经济”,因此可推测igniting意为“激起”。故选C。 【9题详解】 细节理解题。根据第四段中“Basics such as plaid skirts or hoodies go for 16-40 yuan ($2-5), mid-tier embroidered hanfu or lined coats are sold for 100-200 yuan, while high-end limited pieces or replicas of celebrity costumes can exceed 200 yuan. Collectors willingly pay for scarcity and exclusivity. (格子裙、连帽衫这类基础款售价16至40元(约2至5美元),刺绣汉服、夹棉外套等中端款式售价100至200元,而高端限量款或明星同款复刻娃娃衣价格则可超过200元。收藏者们愿意为稀缺性和独特性买单。)”可知,限量版的款式或者越稀缺的款式越贵,因此一件罕见的限量版夹克衫的拉布布可能是最贵的。故选A。 根据第五段中“‘Dressing them and caring for them gives me a sense of ownership,’ she said. ‘They can even match my bags and my dressing styles.’ (‘给它们搭配衣服、悉心照料,让我有种主人翁的感觉,’她说,‘它们甚至还能和我的包包、穿搭风格相搭配。’)”及第六段“The surge reflects the power of ‘emotional value. (这股热潮折射出‘情感价值’的力量。)”可知,“娃娃衣经济”背后的主要驱动因素是这项爱好为所有者提供的情感价值。故选B。 【11题详解】 推理判断题。根据最后一段“Behind the craze is the country’s flexible supply chain, capacity in churning out rapid, small-batch customization. That makes doll fashion a new growth means for traditional clothes firms stuck in cruel competition. (这股狂热背后,是中国灵活的供应链,以及快速完成小批量定制的生产能力。这让娃娃衣产业成为深陷激烈竞争的传统服装企业新的增长点。)”可知,“娃娃衣经济”依托国内灵活的产业供应链推动了传统服装业的转型,故可推知,这一趋势既得益于中国的制造业能力,也反过来推动了其发展。故选D。 Following the crowd may not always be in a person’s best interest. But new research suggests that teens who go along with their friends may end up healthier as adults. Scientists have known that close friendships are good for health. That’s true for both teens and adults. The finding inspired Joseph Allen, a psychologist at the University of Virginia, and his team to study whether experiences during teen years would influence adult health. So they followed 171 teens, starting when the kids were just 13. They interviewed each one every year for five years, and also spoke to these teens’ closest friends, who provided additional information about the quality of their friendships. The same 171 people were interviewed again at ages 25, 26 and 27. This time, the questions surveyed each person’s overall health. When the researchers analyzed the data, they found a strong connection between a teen’s behavior and adult health. Teens who had close friends grew up to be the healthier adults. Whether teens held back their feelings or expressed them to a close friend also influenced later health. Those who held back were more likely to be sick as adults. The connection held up even after the scientists accounted for other possible influences on health. Weight, family income and drug use were all examined. So were mental health issues, such as anxiety and depression. And in these people, such other factors did not explain adult health as well as teen friendships did. Going along with the crowd may have benefits, says Allen, but there are also drawbacks. Teens who are more independent tend to be better at school and work. And peer pressure may lead to some kids’ risky behavior, such as smoking, drinking or using drugs. Dealing with it is an ongoing challenge, Allen acknowledges. “Finding the right balance is the key. Teens shouldn’t lose heart for not finding this easy.” And, he adds, “Parents need to be understanding about the pressures teens face.” 12 What is the function of the paragraph one? A. To introduce a topic. B. To make a definition. C. To reach a conclusion. D. To attract readers’ interest. 13. What does paragraph 3 mainly tell us about the research? A. Its theoretical basis. B. Its major difficulties. C. Its process and results. D. Its scientific evidence. 14. What does the underlined word “drawbacks” mean in Paragraph4? A. Challenges. B. Mistakes. C. Influences. D. Disadvantages. 15. What is the main idea of the passage? A. Teens should follow the crowd strictly. B. Peer pressure mainly affects adult health. C. Teen friendships may make healthier adults. D. Adults should pay attention to teen health. A 13. C 14. D 15. 根据第一段“Following the crowd may not always be in a person’s best interest. But new research suggests that teens who go along with their friends may end up healthier as adults.(从众未必总能符合个人最佳利益,但新研究表明,顺应朋友的青少年最终可能成为更健康的成年人。)” 故选A项。 第三段首句“So they followed 171 teens, starting when the kids were just 13. They interviewed each one every year for five years, and also spoke to these teens’ closest friends, who provided additional information about the quality of their friendships. The same 171 people were interviewed again at ages 25, 26 and 27.(于是他们对 171 名青少年展开了追踪研究,研究始于这些孩子 13 岁时。研究团队连续五年每年对每位参与者进行一次采访,同时还与这些青少年最亲密的朋友进行了交谈 —— 朋友们为了解他们的友谊质量提供了额外信息。这 171 名研究对象在 25 岁、26 岁和 27 岁时再次接受了采访。)”详细描述了研究的对象、时间跨度和数据收集方式;以及“When the researchers analyzed the data, they found a strong connection between a teen’s behavior and adult health. Teens who had close friends grew up to be the healthier adults. Whether teens held back their feelings or expressed them to a close friend also influenced later health. Those who held back were more likely to be sick as adults.(当研究人员分析数据时,发现青少年的行为与成年后的健康状况之间存在密切关联:拥有亲密朋友的青少年,长大后会成为更健康的成年人。青少年是压抑自己的情绪,还是向亲密朋友倾诉,这也会影响他们日后的健康 —— 那些选择压抑情绪的人,成年后患病的概率更高。)”则呈现了研究的核心发现(结果)。因此,该段主要讲述了研究的过程与结果。故选C项。 【14题详解】 词句猜测题。根据下文内容“Teens who are more independent tend to be better at school and work. And peer pressure may lead to some kids’ risky behavior, such as smoking, drinking or using drugs. (更独立的青少年往往在学校和工作中表现更好。同龄人的压力可能会导致一些孩子的危险行为,如吸烟、饮酒或吸毒。)”结合上文“Going along with the crowd may have benefits, says Allen,(艾伦说,随大流可能有好处。)” China’s pet economy is booming. As a student living away from home at his local high school, he was out of sight of his parents. Even so, the appeal of the Internet was too strong for him to resist. During the day, he was often distracted and uninterested in his studies, instead, he just spent his time on his phone, surfing the Internet and playing games. At night, Ethan’s addiction to the Internet led him to take more extreme measures. He sometimes would quietly sneak out of his dormitory and climb over the wall that surrounded the campus. His destination was the local Internet Café, where he would get lost in the digital world for hours. His teachers, worried about his actions, had informed his parents about his Internet addiction. He pretended to accept the advice of his teachers and parents, but secretly, he kept doing what he wanted. On that fateful night, as the town slept beneath a starry blanket, Ethan approached the wall again. He held his breath as he looked over the edge, ready to climb up as he had done many times before. There, lying against the wall, was a person in the dark. As the person looked up, in the dim light, Ethan recognized the weary eyes and the weathered face of his father. His father, a man of few words, had come to see him during the day yesterday, bringing him home-cooked meals, along with a warm sweater knitted with mother’s love. He brought everything his son needed, yet he didn’t inform him of the severe financial struggles at home and his mother’s illness; he kept all the negative news from his son. Now, the father chose to lean against the wall to save money on accommodation. He preferred to put up with the cold and discomfort of the night rather than let his son know about his sacrifices. His son’s face obviously turned red with a mix of embarrassment and shock, and he muttered “Why you are here, father?” The man instantly understood everything and confirmed it was time to tell his son something. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ From that day forward, Ethan transformed. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】范文 The man instantly understood everything and confirmed it was time to tell his son something. Taking a deep breath, the man briefed his son on everything about their family. Ethan hung his head in shame, muttering “Dad, you should have told me earlier. What I did hurt everyone. I’m so selfish! Sorry!” His father reached out his rough hands cupping Ethan’s cold cheeks. “Son, we all get lost sometimes. It’s finding our way back that matters.” Tears welling up in his eyes, Ethan nodded and made a promise to himself. He would no longer be a prisoner of the Internet. He would honor his parents’ love with dedication and hard work. From that day forward, Ethan transformed. He immersed himself in his studies, his nights filled with the pursuit of knowledge rather than the empty temptation of the digital world. His diligence paid off, and years later, he received a letter of acceptance from a renowned university. That life-changing night served as a constant reminder to him that the love of a family was the most precious gift. It was the driving force that urged him to pursue excellence and the guiding light that showed him the way when lost. 词汇激活 行为类 ①低下头:hang his head /bow his head ②专心于,沉浸在:immerse oneself in/absorb oneself in ③捧着:cup sth/hold sth in one’s cupped hands 情绪类 ①流泪:tears welling up in his eyes/his eyes filled with tears ②羞愧:Ethan hung his head in shame/feeling ashamed, Ethan hung his head 【点睛】【高分句型1】Taking a deep breath, the man briefed his son on everything about their family. An 82-year-old Chinese female pilot has set a record in the country’s airline industry after flying a small plane for 40 minutes in Beijing. Miao Xiaohong, one of China’s second batch of female pilots, controlled the Tecnam P2010 plane to take off, turn, climb, dive and land safely at the Shifosi Airport in Pinggu District of Beijing. In 1956 Miao Xiaohong, who graduated from a high school in Jinan, won a position in the second batch. Mini suits, pants, hanfu, Victorian dresses — these aren’t children’s clothes nor costumes, but “doll outfits” that young Chinese adults collect for their figurines (手办). B A mass-produced pair of jeans. A The supply chain for doll clothes is slow and inefficient. B. The doll clothes industry is facing cutthroat competition. C. Traditional clothes firms are unwilling to produce doll clothes. D. The trend benefits from and also fuels China’s manufacturing capabilities. Following the crowd may not always be in a person’s best interest. Teens shouldn’t lose heart for not finding this easy.” And, he adds, “Parents need to be understanding about the pressures teens face.” 12. What is the function of the paragraph one? China’s pet economy is booming. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
