B Do you know Norway’s “russefeiring” celebration? High school seniors across Norway participate in this unique tradition. It’s a large-scale, four-week-long celebration marking the end of 13 years of school before the transition to higher education. It begins at the end of April and goes on until May 17. This tradition dates back to the 1900s, though it has evolved (进化) significantly ever since. I just experienced a “russefeiring”. It started with a ceremony, where we had to drink a carbonated beverage (碳酸饮料) under 10 seconds. I didn’t make it, so my friends poured the rest over my head, leaving me totally wet. After that, I wore my “russedress”, a traditional outfit for graduates. It was bright red, with patches (补丁). I spent hours decorating it, painting my favorite bands on it and adding patches for all the places I’d visited. Some students went further, forming big groups with their own logos, stickers and even party songs. They saved money for years to buy and fixed up old buses into party buses. I remember seeing one with a DJ and a mini-bar inside — it was like a moving club. They drove around town, stopping at all the major parties with loud music. It was like a scene from a movie. The celebration peaked on May 17, Norway’s national day. We joined parades, gave out our business cards and celebrated the end of our school journey. We partied all night, dancing and laughing with friends. But as dawn broke, reality struck: in just a few days, we’d be sitting for our national exams. It was a reminder that the party was over, and real life was about to begin. 4.What can we learn about Norway’s “russefeiring”? A.It lasts for three weeks. B.It is a celebration for college graduates. C.It has stayed the same since it began. D.It has been in existence for at least decades. 5.How did students make their “russefeiring” special? A.By changing old buses into moving party places. B.By creating logos to print on business cards. C.By practicing party songs to perform for peers. D.By painting their favorite travel spots on outfits. 6.What would students do after the “russefeiring” peak on May 17? A.They’d immediately start their college life. B.They’d take national exams in a short while. C.They’d plan another party to extend the celebration. D.They’d give away their “russedresses”. 7.What is the best title for the text? A.The Experience of Norway’s National Day parade B.The History of Traditional Celebrations in Norway C.A Special Celebration for Norwegian High School Seniors D.How Norwegian Students Transform Old Buses C If you were to visit Sweden on a Saturday, it would be truly difficult to miss the sugar-driven excitement that fills each corner’s sweet shop! This is because of a long-standing tradition surrounding candy called Lördagsgodis, which means “Saturday Sweets”. If you were to ask a Swedish young adult why Lördagsgodis is a thing, many of them would have trouble explaining it. It’s been a part of their culture for as long as they can remember, so they’ve never really questioned it. It all began just after World War II ended. Health workers noticed that the rate of cavities (蛀牙率) went down during the war, when sugar ran short. So, Swedish doctors decided to test the idea that cavities and sugar went hand-in-hand. They later found — through what is now seen as an infamous study — that eating sugar more often was more likely to cause cavities than having a large amount (数量) all at once. Swedes took the results of this experiment to heart, and as a result, the cultural movement of only eating sweets on one day a week was born! As it turns out, the Swedes aren’t the only ones who know how to put a cap on eating candy. Dr. Lynda Ulrich recommends using a similar method for sugar control with her patients and her own children. Every Halloween (万圣节前夕) night, she lets her kids eat as much of their trick-or-treating candy as they want. Whatever is left gets given away. And of course, everyone brushes their teeth well at the end of the night. Perhaps we can follow the Swedish culture as our new guide for enjoying things in moderation (适度). Sugar, chips, soft drinks — we know these things are not great for our health, but they are part of what makes life enjoyable. If we set some rules for ourselves, we can still enjoy these treats without feeling guilty (内疚的). When we save them for special times, they may even become more enjoyable. And if we begin to think of them as something to look forward to, they become something to celebrate. 8.How do many young Swedes look at Lördagsgodis? A.It creates much excitement. B.It is a common tradition. C.It faces serious troubles. D.It is just for children. 9.What is paragraph 2 mainly about? A.How Lördagsgodis began. B.How Lördagsgodis works. C.Why Lördagsgodis matters. D.Why Lördagsgodis caught on. 10.What is Dr. Lynda Ulrich’s attitude to Lördagsgodis? A.Curious. B.Worried. C.Supportive. D.Uncertain. 11.What may result from following the idea of Lördagsgodis? A.Higher health risks. B.Growing sugar market. C.Increasing sweets prices. D.Greater enjoyment of treats. D The Sami People: Guardians of the Northern Wilderness The Sami people, aboriginal to northern Norway, Sweden, Finland, and the far-north of Russia, have a history and culture deeply connected with nature. In Norway, a significant number of Sami live in the northern regions, especially in Finnmark county. For centuries, the Sami have made a living through reindeer herding (驯鹿放牧), fishing, and hunting. Reindeer are central to their culture. They not only provide meat but also hides for clothing and horns for crafting tools and artworks. The Sami’s semi-nomadic (半游牧的) lifestyle follows the seasonal movement of the reindeer. In summer, they lead the reindeer to rich grassland, and in winter, they seek areas with reindeer lichen, a crucial winter food source. However, the Sami have faced challenges. In the past, strict assimilation policies in Norway forced them to abandon their own language and traditional ways. They were not allowed to speak Sami languages in schools, and many Sami children were taken from their families to be educated in Norwegian-only institutions. These policies led to a decline in the use of Sami languages. There are ten different Sami languages globally, six of which can be found in Norway. But now, only northern Sami, lule Sami, and southern Sami are actively in use, with others struggling to survive. Thankfully, in recent decades, there has been a coming back of Sami culture. The Sami have reclaimed their heritage. They now have their own parliament (议会) in Norway, which gives them a chance to express their opinions when making decisions that affect their communities. Sami art, crafts, and clothing are also flourishing. Sami art often shows their close connection with nature and their long-standing traditions, attracting international attention. Sami festivals are important occasions to celebrate their culture. The Riddu Riddu festival inKăfjord, Troms, is an international aboriginal festival held every July, drawing people from all over the world. During these festivals, you can experience traditional Sami music, joiking (a unique form of Sami vocal music), dance, and handicrafts. 12.What are the main ways the Sami people have made a living for centuries? A.By farming crops like wheat. B.Through reindeer herding, fishing, and hunting. C.By trading with neighboring countries. D.By working in modern industries. 13.The underlined word “assimilation” in the third paragraph probably means _______. A.the process of becoming part of a different culture B.the protection of one's own culture C.the development of a new culture D.the combination of different cultures 14.What is the author’s attitude towards the current situation of Sami culture? A.Pessimistic. B.Optimistic. C.Indifferent. D.Doubtful. 15.What can we infer from the passage about the future of Sami culture? A.It will disappear completely due to modernization. B.It will continue to grow with the Sami’s efforts and support. C.It will only be preserved in museums. D.It will be replaced by Norwegian culture. 第二节(共5小题, 每小题2. 5分, 共12. 5分) 阅读下面短文, 从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 British Harvest Festival is celebrated on or close to the Sunday of the Harvest Moon, which is the full moon that’s closest to the Autumn Equinox (秋分). 16 But it may also take place at the beginning of October in some years. This holiday is to celebrate the food that land has provided and to give thanks. The Harvest Festival can date back to the ancient Celts’ times when it was celebrated as the seasonal mid-point. 17 In Anglo-Saxon England, these traditions of the Harvest Festival continued. And during this time, it became a custom to “bless (祝福) the bread”, which would later become the tradition of giving thanks for a meal. 18 In this way, the Harvest Festival continue to develop over the next few hundred years until it became the holiday that it’s today. 19 Usually, people in Britain share a meal with friends and family and decorate homes. They also attend church, give food out to people in need, and sing songs. Some people make corn toys, which are expected to bring luck to next year’s harvest. Sometimes these toys are hung up on farm houses. Some British people are trying to return this holiday to some of its religious roots (宗教根源). However, most don’t have that attempt. 20 They also give thanks for the good luck they received all year long. A.Why is the Harvest Festival still celebrated? B.By the 1500s, many traditions had been put into this day. C.How do the British celebrate the Harvest Festival nowadays? D.Thus, this holiday usually falls around the end of September. E.In that way, it is much like the American holiday of Thanksgiving. F.They just see this holiday as a way to spend time with their family. She was too weak to go out at all, which was sad and disappointing. Grandma and Grandpa had been planning to take my little sister Indi and me to the zoo for Valentine’s Day. Grandma, as an animal lover, had been especially looking forward to it. On Valentine’s Day, Indi begged Grandma to go to the zoo with us. But Grandma jokingly explained that if she went there, she might spread her cold to other visitors, or even to the animals, making them all start sneezing. I imagined the sight that an elephant kept sneezing. Meanwhile, I pretended my arm was a trunk and blurted out a funny trumpeting sound that ended with a gigantic sneeze. “Good one, brother,” Indi laughed. “That elephant would need a huge box of tissues.” Grandma was amused. But she insisted that she should stay at home and rest up. She wished us a pleasant visit and reminded us to send her regards to the monkeys. Well, we did go and we did have a great time, but I kept wishing Grandma could have been there with us. When we reached the monkey mountain, Grandpa suggested taking a picture with the monkeys and told us to hold still and say “cheese”. “Cheese,” I said. But Indi said, “Happy Valentine’s Day, Grandma!” “You were supposed to say cheese,” said Grandpa. Indi shrugged, “It just came out.” “I’m glad it did,” I said. “Because you’re just given me a fantastic idea. What if we take pictures of different animals, and then turn them into a special Valentine gift for Grandma?” Indi and Grandpa agreed and we kept taking pictures for Grandma. 【答案】12.B 13.A 14.B 15.B 【导语】本文是一篇说明文。文章主要介绍了萨米人的历史、文化、生活方式以及他们面临的挑战和复兴。 12.细节理解题。根据第二段的句子“For centuries, the Sami have made a living through reindeer herding (驯鹿放牧), fishing, and hunting.(几个世纪以来,萨米人以放牧驯鹿、捕鱼和狩猎为生。)”可知,萨米人几个世纪以来的主要谋生方式是放牧、捕鱼和狩猎。故选B项。 13.词句猜测题。根据下文的内容“policies in Norway forced them to abandon their own language and traditional ways. (因此,这个节日通常在九月末左右)”符合语境,说明丰收节通常在九月末,是对前文时间的具体补充,和后文构成转折,其中的this holiday指代前文的British Harvest Festival。故选D。 17.前文“The Harvest Festival can date back to the ancient Celts’ times when it was celebrated as the seasonal mid-point. (丰收节可以追溯到古凯尔特时期,当时它被作为季节的中点来庆祝)”提到丰收节起源于古凯尔特时期,后文“In Anglo-Saxon England, these traditions of the Harvest Festival continued. (到16世纪时,许多传统已被融入这一天)”符合语境,指出更多传统随着时间推移而产生,承前启后,符合前后文时间逻辑。故选B。 19.前文段落主要介绍节日的历史演变,后文“Usually, people in Britain share a meal with friends and family and decorate homes. (英国人如今如何庆祝丰收节呢)”符合语境,从历史转向现代,引出后文具体的庆祝活动。故选C。 20.前文“Some British people are trying to return this holiday to some of its religious roots (宗教根源). However, most don’t have that attempt. We printed out the photos we had taken at the zoo, each one capturing a different animal in their playful or majestic moments. Indi and I carefully selected the best shots, making sure to include the monkeys as per Grandma’s request. We then took out a beautiful photo album and lovingly arranged the pictures inside, adding little notes about each animal and the memories they brought back. It was a labor of love, and we were excited to see Grandma’s reaction. Then we took the gift upstairs to Grandma’s room. We tiptoed in, trying not to disturb her, but her eyes lit up as soon as she saw the wrapped photo album in our hands. “What’s this?” she asked. We handed her the gift, and as she flipped through the pages, her face broke into a wide smile. “Oh, this is the best Valentine’s Day gift ever,” she exclaimed. “Thank you, my darlings. This means so much to me.” We sat with her, sharing stories about the day and watching her delight as she revisited the zoo through our pictures. It was a moment of pure happiness, and we knew that even though she wasn’t physically with us at the zoo, she was very much a part of our adventure. 词汇激活 行为类 ①捕捉:capture/catch/seize ②包含:include/contain ③打扰:disturb/bother ④大声说出:exclaim/cry/yell 情绪类 ①兴奋的:excited/thrilled ②喜悦:delight/happiness/joy 【点睛】[高分句型1] We then took out a beautiful photo album and lovingly arranged the pictures inside, adding little notes about each animal and the memories they brought back.
