Nature is amazing! Look closely at the world of insects (昆虫), and you’ll find many wonderful things. Let’s take butterflies for example. They have beautiful, colorful wings and can fly really well. On summer days, you always see them flying freely over flower gardens and fields.
But do you know how butterflies become the flying insects? It’s one of nature’s great wonders. First, mother butterflies lay small, colorful eggs on plant leaves or stems (茎).
You’ll be surprised—these eggs turn into totally different insects in a few days. They become caterpillars. Caterpillars have legs, eyes and big bodies. They can eat, walk and see, but they aren’t butterflies yet.
When caterpillars grow big, they make a protective cover for themselves. They wrap themselves in this cover and sleep. This stage is called the “pupa (蛹)” stage.
After some time the cover breaks, and a wet, weak butterfly comes out. It has six legs, a mouth, eyes and wings. Soon, blood fills its wings. Then the beautiful, colorful butterfly spreads its wings and flies away.
A few weeks later, adult butterflies lay eggs, and the cycle starts again.
This is just one wonder of nature. Look around the natural world, and you’ll learn many amazing things.

A. It has legs, eyes and a large body.
B. It has legs, eyes and a mouth without wings.
C. It has six legs, a mouth, eyes and wings but is wet and weak.
D. It can fly freely at once.
15. What can we learn from the passage?

After some time, the cover breaks, and a wet, weak butterfly comes out.
